Sam is absolutely wonderful to work with. He helped us for our wedding and everything was perfect - pricing, delivery, quality, and selection. Rafael florists works best when you review their selections on the website and go from there. Sam helped me curate some of his signature flowers and make them unique by adding just a touch of blue for me. I didn't see the finished product until the wedding day and I must say I was blown away. read more

I just want to compliment you for the gift of an orchid I received from your shop on November 24, 2024 - a birthday gift from a friend in Marin County. The plant still looks the same today as it did when Rob brought it to me four months ago. In addition to that, I check it with a water meter once a week, and I've only watered it once or twice in that 4 months. I find it absolutely amazing how not a single beautiful blossom has faded in that amount of time. What a florist! read more

Horrible service, I ordered 120 dollars worth of flowers from them and the two workers who answered the phone were so rude! I asked if the flowers can be made with a little extra love and they seemed irritated I even asked that smh. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE EVER! I let them know I will be writing this review to let people know how awful their customer service was and they still did not care! read more

Bought flowers last minute for a coworker and they were top notch! I had a couple of specific instructions and they were very thorough and checked in with me a lot. Love that you can text or email them as main way to comm cause I love the paper trail! I did put my order in online and then follow up wit texts/questions. Delivery came less than 3 hours later. Gorgeous flowers at all price points, great service, and this is the first time the flowers were so stunning that they looked better than the website photos and the website photos were actually really really good already. My husband has been sending me flowers from Rafael Florist for years. Yesterday I received a bouquet and the vase must have been cracked. It leaked slowly over my Marble Top Table. I called the florist to see what they could do to help me. The woman who called me back was extremely rude from the start. She told me to bring it in. It's a huge arrangement and this wasn't possible. She told me to put it in another vase. I told her I didn't have one big enough. She then started to make it my fault saying that I set it on the counter too hard. When I requested she come and fix it she said she didn't feel the problem was on her end. I said I didn't think we would be doing business with them again and she said that was fine with her. I was so surprised that anyone would run their business like this. Amazing. read more

This is the third time I have had flowers sent to my mother-in-law who resides in San Rafael. The arrangements are just stunning! Everything from the on-line ordering, to the special notes for delivery, make the experience of sending flowers easy and comfortable. There are usually upgrade options for each floral arrangement making your selection entirely customizable. The flowers are fresh and last a long time. What a disappointing experience. I was on a quest to pick up a bouquet for my father and wanted to shop local. When I walked in the two employees that were there barely acknowledged me (but enough for me to know they knew of my presence). I awkwardly looked around waiting to be approached. Eventually I stood at the counter for a while and finally one of the employees walked over. The impression I got was that I was interrupting/inconveniencing her just by my presence. I told her what I was looking for and she acted completely put out. I was so thrown off/uncomfortable that I made an excuse to leave (saying I'd come back later). I always want to see the good and have understanding for someone maybe having a bad day ... but this experience definitely stood out. I don't plan on returning. read more

It's hard not being able to celebrate special occasions with friends and family like we used to. Especially during this time, flower deliveries are a lifesaver. Needed to send flowers for some dear friends for their wedding anniversary. They live up in San Rafael while I'm down here in the South Bay. Trusted Rafael Florist to create a beautiful arrangement and deliver it to them safe & sound. I ordered through their website, which was organized and easy to navigate. Prices are listed along with pictures and detailed descriptions of each arrangement. Depending on what you order, prices can be steep. I had a $10 delivery fee, which isn't bad. Looking at my total, I paid a little more than I wanted, but I don't mind if it means helping out local businesses such as this one. Checkout & payment is straight forward from there. They email you an order confirmation ASAP and once flowers are delivered, a delivery confirmation. The process was a breeze. Placed my order two days before delivery date & received a text from my friends saying how much they loved the flowers. Made my day for sure! I'm a San Rafael native and always remember Rafael Florist as having not only the best selection of freshly cut flowers, but also being the only florist in the area that carries individual gardenias, which happen to be my mom's favorite. Now that I live in Chicago, I rely on flower delivery services when I want to send a bouquet. The past few years, I've used Pro-Flowers, 1-800-Flowers, all those bigger vendors, and something always has gone wrong - usually not a dealbreaker but it's always something, y'know? My goodness. I ordered a medium sized arrangement of roses and orchids and hydrangia that I thought would look nice. It looked on the small side in the photo but it was $165 so I went for it. The arrangement I just saw tonight is huge, gorgeous, full, fresh, stunning. A very large glass vase. I would think $400 or more for that bouquet. There are some reviews here that criticize the customer service. I simiply ordered online and what a treat. read more

I have been looking for a new florist since my previous go-to went out of business during the pandemic . I have some annual occasions that require larger, customized arrangements and have not been satisfied with the other businesses that I have tried over the past few years. I left a voice message for Rafael Florist and Mai responded to me within the hour! She reviewed the details of my request and confirmed that they would be accommodated. I submitted the order online and she personally confirmed shortly there after. I've driven past this place for most of my life, but never actually walked in and still haven't! I was looking to send some flowers to my mom for Mother's Day and decided to finally try them out after disastrous results from FTC and ProFlowers. I selected a large lily bouquet online and crossed my fingers. With the above mentioned, i've gotten items that were not what the picture showed and very sparse. you would think with all the money paid you get something better. I got a phone call from the folks letting me know that the instructions I left were cut off so they just wanted to confirm. As always, I was nervous, but my mom ended up sending me a picture and they were much like the flowers I selected. I was ecstatic that they did justice! I finally saw them in person two days later, and man was it huge and full! I happen to send my older sister some pick me up flowers as well, and again they were beautiful and full. Tomorrow is my wedding, I came in to request for a small bouquet and a fresh flower hairpiece from them. The procrastinator that I am, i thought they would deny my order, but the exact opposite happened. They were very accommodating. Lily showed me all varieties they have and gave me qoutes. On the otherhand, Sam, the arranger, was so glad to help me out and even threw in suggestions. My bouquet was only supposed to have 6 coral roses on them, but he gave me 7. I ordered them at 1pm they were done way earlier than that. What was even better was that since they close at 6pm and i can't get it right away because I was getting a mani-pedi across the street, they held it for me until I was available. i can't thank them enough! They're awesome and super friendly!! love love read more

On the day of the wedding, the draping on my ceremony arch was missing. I only found out as I was walking down the aisle. My cake was also nothing like what I had requested; instead, it had random flowers that were never discussed. I expressed how upset I was afterward, but nothing was done to resolve the situation. She actually said that had I let her know while she was on site, she could have fixed it. I didn't have time to look at the ceremony space nor did I know when she was there. I trusted her to do what was discussed. Her explanation for slow responses was that she was busy, which I understand to a point, but I also feel that vendors shouldn't take on more clients than they can reasonably handle. Looking back, had I known how disappointing this experience would be, I would not have gone with the preferred florist and would have gladly paid more for someone who could offer better communication and attention on such an important day.
