Went here on a recommendation. Im not from the area. Very friendly. But the overall atmosphere was a little strange. It wasn't dirty so to speak. But there could be more done to make things a little more aesthetically pleasing. Just not a lot of attention to detail around the salon. And that transferred into nail care. I didn't get a super cleanly vibe. Nails were done just "okay". Mine needed a lot of love. But I have a regular place I go to back home and it's just so much better. I have gone here for about a year consistently. The times Ryan has done my nails have been awful. When asking to fix them he is rude. Not to mention he overcharges you. He also talks about his personal life regarding his past relationships which is uncomfortable. If you go, request Kim as she is the one who will do better work and she is kind. read more

Terrible experience because Michael cut the skin on my big toe and it bled. He also cut off the corner of that toenail so I might end up with an ingrown toenail. Many of the other toenails were cut unevenly and not straight across. I had to go home and bathe my foot and will put an antibiotic cream on it until it heals. I watched Michael clean the adjacent foot bath; he could have been more thorough, so cleanliness is a concern. Also, Michael did not speak much English and neither did anyone else so I was unable to communicate with anyone. Do not go there. I seldom complain but this was a bad and scary experience. read more

I made a reservation but they didn't seem to recognize that when I came for my appointment. I scheduled a manicure and a pedicure but they only had me scheduled for a pedicure. The salon itself did not seem that clean ... the floor was dirty and the tools did not come in a sanitized packet. They also didn't use bonnets for the pedicure spa tubs. Removes callouses and really cleans my dry feet (Colorado climate can play havoc on fee in the winter). Kim's Nails is also very affordable. I don't go there because of that, though. I went in to get a full set and also wanted to have my ring fingers decorated in a cute way for Valentine's Day coming up. The staff was very friendly and attentive. After finishing my set, they helped me figure out what design to put on my ring fingers and even looked at several designs on Pinterest with me for inspiration to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I usually go here to get my nails done and they always do a pretty good job. Last time I did go to get a pedicure. There's always so many people there getting one so I figured I'd try it out. It was the most uncomfortable pedicure I'd ever had. The water got cold waiting for them and they kept switching out people. I saw them grab a used callus file for a previous client unwashed. LONGEST HOUR OF MY LIFE! As a hair salon owner (my place is in Cherry Creek) I am very particular about client service, salon cleanliness and quality of service. . Kim's Nails failed miserably in every area. I am fortunate to have the best hair stylists work at my salon but I have 1 nail tech as well. She sets the bar- HIGH. Usually I get my mani/pedi with her but I live in Fort Collins and needed a pedi ASAP as I am flying out to Cali in the wee hours of the morning. I noticed Kim's Nails in the Safeway Shopping Center near my home so I took a chance and walked in.... my first mistake. The place is fairly small and since there were 3 other women in there getting services, I didn't pay TOO much attention though I could tell the place had seen better days. It's pretty run down and out of date but once I sat in the very worn pedicure chair, I instant;y regretted my selection of nail salons. The entire staff is completely low energy, rude, poorly dressed, and seems totally miserable. My nail tech in particular was not having a good day it seemed for she was very aggressive in her techniques... water was scorching hot, filing my toe nails burned as she went to town, she jerked my feet up and around like they weren't attached and she couldn't produce a smile to save her life. The Atmosphere was so depressing! No music, no-one making any polite conversation and it was stuffy as heck in there. STONE COLD SILENCE! I would have distracted myself with reading a magazine but the only one they had was already taken by another client so I tried using my back massage remote but since it's so old, I think it's lost it's mojo. So I took a look around and since the shop is so small it wasn't hard to notice details. Wallpaper ripped, floors cracked stained and peeling, carpet dingy with snags all over... walls were DIRTY, place was dusty, cluttered, and disorganized. Suddenly I started panicking about their overall "professional practices" and State Board Regulations. My friendly nail tech asked if I wanted callous remover... (guess it's a la carte) "$5 dollars extra" Ok, what's $5 bucks? She started exfoliating the bottoms of my feet and ouch ouch ouch! She was aggressively attacking not noticing I was pulling my feet back in agony. FInally I said something to her about it and she eased up, OK, the GROSS part of this callous remover part is what she did with the dead skin..... SHE DUMPED IT BACK INTO THE WATER I WAS SOAKING IN! I think I actually vomited a little bit. I know it's my dead skin but that is still disgusting. She asked me if I wanted "sea salt scrub"... yes, that sounded good.... no mention of an additional $5 bucks" either so I figured it was part of the pedicure service. Her application of the scrub and the massage given was lame but at this point I just wanted to get out of there. The nail tech next to me giving another client a pedicure was seriously giving me the evil eye! Plus I was tired of seeing her entire stomach and plumbers crack every time she got up!! My nail tech vanished and another woman came to paint my toes with the polish I brought. I think she was "KIM" as she was answering the phone while painting my nails and other staff members were asking her questions...I figured perhaps she has some talent and was hopeful I would at least get a decent polish. As I was finishing up with that, another unsuspecting client walked in for a pedicure and they placed her in the chair next to me which had not been cleaned at all after the last client left!! As I was sitting under the feet lamp for my polish to dry, 2 kids came in (their mom is also a nail tach who was working on a client) and started running around, talking loudly (at least someone was talking though) and bouncing all over the place. Now I love kids, have 2 of my own, but I never bring them to work nor do I allow any staff member to bring them to work! The charge for this wonderful hour long experience was $35. Guess the sea salt scrub was a la carte after all but the "fee" didn't bother me. It was the rude staff, the quality of service, the unprofessionalism, client service (wasn't even offered water) and the disregard for Health and Safety of Clients by following State Board Protocol. It was my decision to go there in the first place, My decision to stay and get the service. My decision to never go back. KIM: Train your staff. Prioritize STATE BOARD REGULATIONS and learn customer service!! My actual polish was nicely done so you have the ability to produce a great shop. They did not observe proper social distancing. There are 8 spots, 3 of them were being used, and they sat a lady right next to me when they could have helped her with her nails farther away. No one asked me if I was comfortable with that or not. Also the nail technician wounded one of my cuticles when he was clipping them, and it keeps bleeding. read more

I used to go here and get really great service. This last time though, my nail tech was texting the entire time of my mani and it didn't help that her texting alert was the sound of some kind of farm animal, so there's that going off. Then there is a nail tech watching a tablet with some woman screaming in Vietnamese or something. Behind me is another lady watching YouTube video's with another person yelling in Vietnamese. It's really upsetting I have to write this review but I believe it's necessary. I've been in to Kim's Nails 3 times now. For my first service and two follow ups, since I was completely happy with my Nails. I'm getting my nails done by a young man whose wife is working right next to him. She's talking with her client about her attempt at gaining citizenship when all of a sudden I hear her say something about the Mexicans. Apparently her client didn't hear her comment at first either because she said "what was that", the girl at first said "never mind", then immediately said that her process is being slowed down due to "all the Mexicans jumping over the wall". I'm not looking to cause a political discussion, or debate about race, I just found it extremely uncalled for and offensive having partial Mexican heritage, am married to a Mexican, and my children are mixed as well. I think it's very unprofessional and really IGNORANT coming from someone who is not a citizen and is obviously not educated enough to know that Asians are now the #1 immigrants in this country. I held my tongue and let it go, I don't get super offended because it's just not me, but it did hurt my feelings a little, I'm only human. Apparently a basic pedicure doesn't include callus removal or a foot scrub (that's 10$ more). The water didn't even have soap or any type of soak in it. I got to soak in it for about 3 minutes before my feet were taken out and the tub drained. It was dead quit in there and awkward because one lady would answer the phone on speaker so we all had to listen to her make appointments. WORST NAIL PLACE EVER!!! I have been getting my nails done and had acrylics for over 30 yrs. I am normally a very patient and non-complaining person, not a diva or high maintenance by any means but this place??? Absolutely terrible. First off, it was an 88 degree day when I went in there and the place was sweltering, no A/C, no fans, nothing. No greeting when I came in, terrible selection of nail polish (unless you like pink), the owner could not be bothered to help with anything, she merely sat eating and staring at her iPhone. I asked for a simple rebase, one color on the bottom of my nails, and black tips. When I returned from washing my hands there was another person seated waiting to polish me so I clarified that he knew what I wanted because I had to get out of there for another appt. The color polish was so thick and clumpy which you could plainly see, and it was not going on well but the guy just kept polishing to the point where I had to ask him to stop. He didn't and kept going. He then screwed up my request 2 more times to the point where I got so frustrated and said, "I thought this was a nail place, don't you guys do different colored tips like all the time? And look at my nails, it looks like a child just painted them". They had to take all my polish off and start all over with another person, who finally got it right. An hour and a half for a rebase and polish, made me late to my job interview, and no apologies or discount. read more

We just moved to Fort Collins a couple of weeks ago and I thought it would be nice to take my girls for pedicures and so forth. I also decided to get a wax. I left for a little bit to run an errand and when I came back my girls told me a couple of things that happened. The ladies in the salon were mocking and laughing at customers who had called in. They also told my girls that what they wanted would be ugly. They told my younger daughter, who is on the thin side, that if she would eat more she would grow up and be pretty. When I got my wax, the woman who helped me was really nice, but the table had a dirty towel on it, she was using wax that didn't work very well, and the stick she was using was smaller than a popsicle stick. She had no supplies she needed to wax properly. When we left, and after I tipped each person that helped us 20%, they made a snide comment that I should be paying even more for them to babysit my children as well. This even after we spent $175 with them (not including the tip). read more
