This was my 2nd time coming to Kims Nails without an appointment since it's on my way home. Each time I have been seen right away after picking my nail polish color. I'm constantly looking for a good place to get a regular manicure and pedicure and I heard about this place from a classmate who also gets regular manicure and pedicures and I loved their work. The establishment isn't that big but definitely not very small, average size. They have cameras all around which is great, they really keep everything clean and sanitized. Towards the back they have the massage chair for when you get a pedicure, restroom is unisex and pretty clean. I believe they also provide waxing services towards the back. I have had the pleasure to have been taken care of by Joann and Mary, both took their time with both my regular manicure and pedicure. They take their time applying the polish and they do a good job! I have notice they have wine, water and soda available however have only been offered water once. I'm sure if you asked they would give it to you but perhaps since they are busy it must slip their mind. Since located in a big plaza, there's always parking, some of the girls are bilingual if you need Spanish speaking. They prefer when you tip in cash, however do accept all major cc's. I have been here 3 or 4 times now. Each time I have been happy with my outcome. However, today I was disappointed. Not with my nail tech, but rather with what channel the owner chose to put on her TVs. If I owned a business in today's world the last thing I would do is choose a channel spewing hate and political propaganda. I politely asked that she change the channel which she did. If I ever encounter this issue again I will leave and take my business elsewhere. Great nail work and very friendly staff. This company has changed hands and will now be called Beautiful Nails or something like that. I had a very nice pedicure but best of all my husband had a GREAT manicure. He loved it. He's only had a few in his life and hasn't always liked them. his feet, toes and toenails look so nice - they took very good care of him. One of the many nail salons named Kim Nails, in Bayshore Gardens Shopping Center, in between a TJ Maxx and a Publix, and next to the best sushi restaurant in Bradenton. There is also a Target in this plaza. In front of the shop is a cute little courtyard with a garden. However, inside is a busted mess of décor, slathered with signs not to steal nails polish in both English and Spanish. The décor is reminiscent of a 1980's Hoi An barber shop, covered in mint green paint and dusty plastic flowers. The customers are mostly old ladies that just want someone to rub their hands and feet and coat them in pink nail polish. Then, you will find me here, totally engrossed with one of the best nail technicians in Tampa Bay. The acrylic magician I come to hand my wallet to is Ia, she is amazing. When she works on my nails, I am totally engrossed--- watching as my nails are transformed in something even cooler than the coolest Bryant Park runway show. Excellent Vietnamese nail salon. I went and environment was clean and nice. Very polite people and excellent service. Linda did my nails. She was quick and gentle and my nails were nice. I had a really great experience here! I didn't have an appointment, so the receptionist said I may wait up to 30 minutes, but I only waited 15. I got their new ombré acrylics, and they are perfectly Pinterest-able. She was very careful, she didn't hurt me at all- which is saying something since I have a habit of biting the skin around my nails. But she didn't open any of the cuts around my nails or make new ones, which I really appreciated. She was meticulous in her filing and gave me the super glossy finish I asked for. The receptionist and my technician were very friendly and kind, and some of the other technicians were sweet enough to say hello and invite me back. Just FYI, the ombré style takes a little longer than normal acrylics because of the duo-colors. This appointment took just over an hour. I'll be back next time I'm in town! read more

Took my boyfriend and myself for pedicures & me a gel fill. Regular pedi was $27 but I got gel which I get is usually a little more but $42 no thanks! I wish they disclosed this beforehand. Especially when I left with my heels looking worse than when I went in, which I couldn't tell until I got home after all the oil soaked in. Yes they were a little dry but the guy roughed them up with the pumice stone worse than when I arrived. $75 for a gel fill and pedi is a bit much for something that's rushed and unenjoyable. read more

I never write reviews but this kind of needed one. I decided to give this place a try because they were close by and could fit me in today. I walked in really wanting to like it. The person that did my nails quickly ruined any chance of that. When I changed my mind about doing gel after seeing some cool chromes on the wall she insulted me by saying "no" "it's more" "it costs more" over and over. Finally I firmly told her I understand that and asked for swatches yet again. Then she told me it'd be $17 extra for the gel. I said okay. As she's doing my nails she's very rough and seems like I'm bothering her to do my nails. The more I sat there the more irritated I got at her demeanor and being insulted. I wanted to see how I was treated before letting them know I also wanted to get a pedicure and a wax. Obviously, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I wish she would've done a third coat because they were still streaky. The shape looks good though. As soon as my nails were dry I hightailed it out of there. I was definitely disappointed because it seemed great at first. But the older woman (black hair, 50s-60s) left a terrible taste in my mouth. Terrible customer service! Visiting the area and treated myself to a pedicure. Much higher than I pay at home with maybe a 2 minute foot massage. Polish started immediately smudging and looking bad 1 day after service when I had not put a shoe on my foot for at least 15 hrs after being painted. Went back 2 days later thinking they could re-paint to have a happy customer and the lady mimicked to another worker as if I had drug my toes across the ground and caused the smudges myself. Completely not true!! The tech even said something was wrong with the paint when polishing me and had to get another brush. I left with nothing fixed and a terrible looking pedicure. There are many other places close by that you can try so I would avoid this one. read more

I was cut about three different times on each hand, and on top of extremely, unusually slow service, the workers were just absolutely unpleasant. Easy to miss as it's hidden in the very back corner of the Bayshore Gardens plaza. All of the staff is very friendly, you never get ignored when you walk in, which they do accept walk ins. Prices are affordable, color selection is fantastic, and the pedicures I have received are thorough and quality. Facility is very clean, as are tools. Christinne who I believe is management makes sure everything runs smoothly and all clients are happy. This has now become my go to nail salon. So happy I found this hidden gem. read more

I used to go here for years until yesterday. I went in and even brought a friend to get a pedicure. I always get a full and pedicure with the same color I use on my toes as fingers. However after 3 yrs of going there I know what the price is usually however I guess the nail tech took it upon themselves to charge me an extra 20$ for the polish . No extras no hot stones just the same color . I called and they said because they used the neon light to dry it was the extra 20$ so if that's the kind of place you want to visit ,one that hangs up on you when you try to find out why . It took my friend I brought with me to call back and get any answers. Sorry to even post this but you don't treat loyal year long customers that way . So, I went after work to try and get a manicure. I arrived at 5:20. They were having a "slow day" so the receptionist asked "manicure or pedicure?" I said "pedicure" one of the nail techs scoffed at me the other rolled her eyes. If u need to save money. Don't mind that it's dirty. Don't mind discarded nails and dust next to your hand. Don't mind having your hand propped up on A JAR. Really?!?! Don't mind listening to endless haranguing about upcharges. Don't mind a bloody foot and finger then this is the place for u. My regular place was without electricity and as it turned out mine was cheaper than this disgusting place. So I guess that negates the saving money part. Oh well I have to stick around for a delivery so I can use the time to even out my nails. Am beginning to think that with these horrible places that the staff writes glowing reviews.
