I had a little time to kill before heading to an event, so I figured dropping by for a quick, traditional mani would be just enough time to fill the gap and relax for a bit after a long drive. To be honest, I thought I was heading to a different nail spa in the neighborhood, but came across this one first while on foot so decided to give it a chance. Luckily, there was no wait and I was immediately seated and given a mini-bottle of water. I appreciated that, but noticed that everyone else was drinking wine and it would have been nice to have been offered. Made me feel a little left out. The gentleman that did my nails was nice and patient with me while I selected by color. He asked if I just wanted my nails filed because they were already on the shorter side, but didn't really ask what shape I wanted. The manicure itself was a little rushed, and not really relaxing. I also was accidentally cut (which I know happens sometimes) but this was a bit more than usual, because I woke up the next morning with my finger throbbing! Definitely not the usual for me, even if someone does accidentally cut the cuticles too deep. Additionally, my manicure polish was a little less than tidy and chipped that same night before I even got home from the event. No heavy water usage or labor, just a simple hand wash or two between the time of the manicure and my arrival back home. Overall, I've had more positive experiences than this one at other salons, but because the folks seem overall pretty nice here, I'm sure they'll continue to improve with some feedback. read more

I am very pleased with the quality of work and the cleanliness of the establishment. They did a great job at sanitizing everything. The space is beautiful btw. The salon was clean and the receptionist was super friendly. She sat me down, i choose my dip powder color and she wrapped my nails to soak them off. I sat alone without being acknowledged or addressed again for about 30 minutes. Once I got the service completed, i left unsatisfied. Do not go to this place got a set of acrylic with gel was charged 80$ for nails that fell off within 3-4 days after getting them 7 out of 10 came off so i took off the rest very easy. Not to mention she did a horrible job underneath the nail excess acrylic formed, horrible filing job the acrylic was bumpy on the sides and she hardly used any acrylic thinest set ive ever got. Got better ones for 40$ ended up going to another nail salon on state street way better the filing is on point hit them a couple times and still on strong have not fell of yet and alot prettier then the set i got here. One of the worst. I told them I wanted a full set and to have my poly gel removed. She proceded to file my gel down until it burned, not even removed. Then she slapped on acrylic over the gel. She seemed to be afraid to use product. I have never had such thin acrylic nails in my whole life. I also asked for gel polish but was given regular. There was only hot soaking wet towels to "dry" your hands with at the sink. Its been less than an hour and my polish is chipping and one of my freshly done acrylics have already cracked. I stopped in for a quick manicure before heading to an appointment in the area. I was greeted promptly by a sweet young lady at the counter and unfortunately, that's where my good experience ended. I was advised to choose a color and while I was looking, a manicurist comes over and asks if I'm ready. I explained that I was still looking. She rushed me away and told me I could pick my color later. She immediately put one hand in water and started trimming my DRY cuticles on the other hand. She was very rushed and really didn't speak much to me. She never asked how I wanted my nails shaped or anything. She never even cleaned under my nails?! Went here on a whim with my cousin over the weekend and we were glad that they were able to fit us in last minute as a walk-in. The nail place itself is clean and organized with a lot of stations, but nothing spectacular. The nail tech I saw was quick and did a great job on my nails, but it definitely felt rushed. I got the basic spa manicure and requested French. Again, she was quick and efficient but towards the end I felt pretty rushed because someone told her that her next appointment had shown up early. For $18, it was decent service and I can't complain, but when I noticed that she had missed a tiny white spot on my nail, I came back and asked if she could touch it up real quick - she almost seemed upset/irked that I interrupted her with her client... even though I apologized and complimented her work. Oh well. There wasn't really a hand massage either - very skimped, compared to other places and well the next day, my pretty french mani started chipping. I mean, not just one nail, but a good 3-4 of them had lost their white tips in less than 24 hours. My cousin had hers done as well and hers are still looking good. I'm pretty disappointed. read more

I went here with a bridal party before a wedding and the staff was extremely friendly and allowed up to bring champagne. We are also not a very quiet bunch when we are all together, so they were wonderful for dealing with us. I was very disappointed in the quality of the gel nail polish. I got the usual OPI gel polish that I like and it looked great...until three days later. It has already started to chip on three nails and is discoloring a bit. I have never had this happen before and have gotten gel dozens of times. I even sent a message to the other girls in the bridal party and several of them were experiencing the same thing! Very clean and nice inside, we went on a Saturday early afternoon and it was crowded which I always take as a good sign, but we did not have to wait at all. My mom and I both got regular mani pedi's and I got my eyebrows done. I had Linda, she was so awesome, very fast but did not rush at all. My eyebrows look great and the prices are awesome. I've lived in Perry Hall for most of my life and this is, hands down, the best Nail Salon in the area. Kim are and her staff are friendly and efficient. You will always feel welcomed and they do their best to keep people from having to wait too long. The location is great and the Spa itself is very clean and comfortable. I've been here for ever dance, prom, wedding, special event, and even for a random pedicure before summer vacation and I've never had a bad experience. Reasonable prices but since it is such good quality, it can get a little pricey depending on what you get done. I can usually walk out with a mani/pedi for $35. read more

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING! I went hear the day before my trip to Jamaica. What a mistake! I got a full set and gel polish. She repeatedly nicked my cuticles. She was busy talking to another manicurist and checking her iPhone. The next day my cuticles were red, swollen, and sore...yes they were infected. The resort doctor gave me an antibiotic ointment, but cautioned me not to swim...bacteria from the water might make it a lot worse. I never returned to Kim's! Observations: Kim sits in the corner gossiping with the regulars Golden Girls. The manicurists at Kim's have very little knowledge of what's new in nails. Once, I was charged $5.00 to take off gel polish on a different visit. The environment isn't very welcoming (for some). I always felt rushed even with an appointment, especially if a large party was scheduled. The polish isn't applied neatly and the shaping of the nails is dated. I had issues with peeling, chipping, and I think the polishes are old. This place looks nice, but the quality is subpar! read more

I would not recommend this business. I have went there since they opened. I'm sorry to say that I never really liked the owner Kim. I would talk to her but there was a feeling like she was only friendly to her favorites. I have watched her be RUDE to me, rude to her technicians, and rude to other customers. I liked a few of her techs so I kept talking myself into going back each time. I used to spend $120/month and she argued 2 different incidents with me over $2 when I was right b/c my nail broke right after being fixed. She even told me I was lying about what finger it was the last time. Believe me - I wasn't. Very strange. I am happy to spend my $120/month elsewhere. I also have seen her tell a few of the customers who go to her that she does not do pedicures anymore - then they leave and she does a pedicure for another one of her regulars. I have read reviews on the internet saying how rude she is - that is it in a nutshell. It was very convenient for me to go there - that's why I would keep talking myself back into going there. Now not going there anymore so glad to not have to watch someone who is extremely rude profit from my money. There was one time when I was getting a pedicure and just wanted to relax away from my young kids and I had to listen to her argue with a lady next to me about a previous payment the whole time. It ruined my time there. Too much rudeness. Also who would argue over $2 when the person is a regular that spends $120/month and is honest. I always leave cash for a tip but there was a point in time when Kim removed the option of leaving tip on a credit card payment and tells people you cannot leave tip on the credit card. Me and a friend sat down to get our nails done and end up with nail polish that started mid nail. When my friend asked for a design she was told she didn't need one with her color. Do NOT go to Kim's nails. Last week I went in for a fill-in to get my nails done for Christmas. I had acrylic over my real nails and I usually get acrylic because it makes the nails stronger in my experience. Everything was fine for a day or two and then randomly out of the blue one of the nails cracked. A day later another cracked. In a week's time four of them cracked and the entire thing was ruined and looks horrible. Definitely not the nails I want for Christmas. On Tuesday I called Kim's and explained the situation. Also explained that I haven't had the chance to get back into the shop but then made an appointment for yesterday. I was told over the phone by the receptionist that I would NOT be charged for the repairs. I went in yesterday and after checking in at the front desk I checked again to be sure that I would not be charged for the repairs. Well, the story changed and Kim came up and told me that because the fill in was over a week ago (It was last week) that they could no longer guarantee the nails and I would be charged. I explained again that the girl over the phone told me there would be no charge. If she had even looked at my nails, you could see that they hadn't even grown out yet. She insisted it was "policy" (you know, because even though she is the owner and could make exceptions anytime) and denied my free services. No way was I going to let them touch my nails again so I left and I will NEVER go back. It's not my fault the technician did a crappy job, and of course she wasn't there yesterday so I couldn't point her out. Thought I'm sure they would have defended her anyway. I'm so disappointed. I wanted great nails for Christmas and now I won't have them. I've also known others to be overcharged for services, so even if you don't get acrylics, still beware. My mother-in-law paid over $50 for gel overlays. Once I went there a few years ago and got duped into getting gel nails when I said "full set" meaning acrylic. That cost an arm and a leg. Thought I'd give them another chance when I went back this time but that was a mistake. This place is an absolute SCAM. Stay away!! read more
