DON'T, DON'T, DON'T!! Had appointment on a Saturday morning. No other customers...Big Clue! 3 people did my mani-pedi. Mani - Two people did the mani. First one was also running the shop. Nails filed uneven and in different shapes. Answering the phone then jumping and yelling at another manicurist. Second person steps in. Asked her to push cuticles and not use scissors unless necessary. Push back was poor and nipping was hacked. Did not grasp my Pedi - Couldn't understand me. Pudhing cuticaks hurt. Came to this nail salon because I had received a gift card from here. When I walked in, I went to the counter, gave him the gift card and asked them how much was on the gift card and could I use the gift card? I was told I have 45 dollars on the card and yes I could use it. I told her perfect I forgot I had the gift card. So I called ahead of time to see what time they closed and someone said 10, I said okay I'm on the way. Not once did she say, no more walk ins. I came in a little after 8 for a polish change if they didn't have time for a manicure. They refused saying someone had a 9pm appointment. Not once was that mentioned. I went for acrylics with tips. They do not do ombre which was my first bad sign as ombre is very popular. Their technique was not what I had seen as far as acrylic so I knew from the start this would not be a good experience. I got my nails done on a Monday, by Tuesday one had broken off. I was not rough with the nails just did normal tasks. I returned the next day to get it fixed. By Friday another nail broke off. Bottom line Do NOT go here for acrylic. They also have a lot of different services, so I come here for my nails as well as my facials. Sunny does an awesome job for facials. I also love the fact they have a huge selection of colors for both regular and gel polish. They've also started using plastic liners for the pedicure chairs. Came in for a pedicure because I saw this place was under new management so I figured I'd give it a try. A regular pedicure cost $23, and Oriental is $34.50 & the only difference is a 7 min massage meanwhile, a 15 min. massage is $15... huh? Anyway...the entire process took 22 min. I got a pitiful 8 second massage & the lady (Sara) left oil on my legs then put my pant legs down...uhh cool, I'll stay greasy (luckily they were gym leggings so I didn't even bother to say anything). Overall: For $23...I'm good. Wasn't the least bit relaxing. To enhance the sexy experience, I bumped 1 nail on their dryer because it's like a hand dryer glued to the floor on some wood (wtf). Like most people who have their mani/pedi, I usually go to my usual places, tried, tested and leave with nice nails and satisfied. I decided to try a new place and ended up at Kim's Nail Spa. I walked in without an appointment and asked for a mani/pedi and the staff who greeted me gladly told me to pick a color and situated me in one of those massage/pedi chairs. It was an uneventful routine pedi experience. When it was time for my mani, the same person who welcomed me and told me to pick a color told me that they can't give me a mani because the clients who have appointments are waiting and they were understaffed! I looked at the staff with bewildered annoyance and told them that I asked for a mani/pedi and insisted that I get a mani AND pedi as I had required. In what world did this staff think that this was even remotely acceptable? In the end, I got my mani but my experience left me with such bad taste. Even the client sitting next to me agreed that it was rude of the staff to even suggest the idea! I'll go back to my tried and tested nail places. I want an uneventful relaxing experience when having my mani/pedi! By the way, the mani/pedi at Kim's Nail Salon was at best mediocre. read more

My GEL nail polish chipped off 6 days after getting my nails done. I figured this would happen because the lady rushed my nails and finished everything (including removing my acrylic tips) in 30 minutes!! That's impossible to achieve if you do a good job. They will rush you and want you to be in and out to take your money. They're not worth your money. It's not bad but it's definitely not great. My friends and i came in on a Saturday night and the place was full of regulars, so the lady at the front said that they couldn't take us right now which was fine so as we were going to leave another lady protested and said she'd take us. Now one of my friends got a pedicure and the other a gel manicure like me and she was taken right away. And i was kept waiting and waiting and waiting. Again not a big deal tho. I finally get someone to look at my nails, and she starts painting the gel on but it looks so streaky so after she was done with the second coat she looks and tells me she's going to do a third, i say yes please. So far the whole experience has been nice, she was a very sweet woman. After the third coat the color still wasn't showing so i asked for a fourth and that's when everything took a little bit of a sour turn. The lady started giving a lot of attitude, holding my hand up to show another lady then speaking in another language rapidly and rolling her eyes. She looks at my hands and goes "that's four" i was like ya cause the color isn't showing what am i supposed to do for you?? The nails came out okay, she got a lot of polish on my skin and I've been picking at it since yesterday. The color is really nice but i could've done without the attitude or the unnecessary wait. Boyfriend and I both just received lavender spa pedicures and they were delightful! Rosa helped my boyfriend and Joy took care of me. Not only were they incredibly friendly and made us smile/laugh the entire time, they made sure our feet were as soft and fresh as could be! I really wish I've read the reviews before going to this place! It was my last resort since I was flying out the next day BUT PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! STAY AWAY!!!! They are way over priced. It's one thing paying more than you should for amazing work but it's another to pay for something over priced and get something half done. I went in and got tips and colored powder. That cost me $67. That is over priced compared to the salon I usually go where they do silk extensions with power and it's still about $10 less. Anyways, so she puts on my tips no acrylic on top just went straight to putting the colored power on my bare nail and the plastic tip. Which leads me to only believe these won't last long. Since she did that, she did not clean my cuticles, she filed the life out of my fingers that caused them to hurt. I also get my nails done pointy style which cost me $5 extra to do ( I never heard of that). When I asked her very nicely (I'm soft spoken) to just fix my pinky that was misshaped she look annoyed. Because she looked annoyed I was afraid to speak up about any thing else I saw wrong. Right away you can tell she was gossiping hard with her coworkers about me asking. Anyways at the end the job was done but I still had my pedicure to do, unfortunately. When I'm getting ready to move to that section she tells me she's about to leave and for me to pay now. So I pull out my card and give it to the owner lady. I ask her to put the tip on the card since I have no cash on me. She says that she cannot and for me to use the atm in the store. I said no I won't do that because I will get charged two fees and I only had limited money. (I am a full time graduate student who works in food delivery so my money is very limited and very important to me) I say I will be back in the morning since I live five mins away to give the lady her tip. My nail lady starts going hard on her language to the owner and you can tell they were both pissed. The owner said that all her clients told her that today so she made no money. I go I'm sorry that is not my fault but I will be back in the morning. At the end with an attitude she asks me how much you want to put as a tip. I say $10, five for my toes and five for my nails since she did a VERY LAZY job and not a complete job. OHBOY did my nail lady get upset. She starts telling me I just did a $67 job on your nails and you only tip me five dollars. I WAS IN SHOCK. A tip for me is based on the work you put in that's it. I go I'm sorry but you didn't do a complete job and if the five dollars bothers you ask your owner to stop over charging, I'm not rich but I would of given her more if it was an amazing job! Even the owner looked at me crazy. Whatever that was down with and it was time to do my toes. He was very nice and sweet but he as well did a half ass job. I had to tell him to cut and file my nails and he did not clean out my cuticles too! He did not scrub my feet, NOTHING! At this point I was over it and wanted to leave as fast as possible. The whole job minus the tip cost me $90! $90 for messed up nails that aren't shaped out buffed out correctly. And for nails on both hands and feet not cleaned out like a normal manicure and pedicure. I will attach pictures and in one picture you will see that on my thumb the tip nail isn't even glued properly on my nail!! Very upset! Not only was that my last $100 to my name but I didn't get a good job done. I had to go home and file them all down and shape them! Please please please, DO NOT GO THERE. Firstly I went to this nail salon a few times in the past and have never had an issue. However, I went in and requested a French Gel Pedicure, they said ok and I thought would've have been a great experience. The associate doing my pedicure might have been new because she had to get help from the owner and other associates. She asked what shape I said square, my toe nails are currently slightly rounded I said it's fine. I told her a thin line for the French tip she tried 4 times and the design just wasn't working out so I said fine just leave the color polish and I'll just have to do that, I was tired and slightly annoyed. I walk to the front to pay, the associate tells the owner I received French I had to explain the issue stated above, I was still charged, $53. I said ok and handed the owner $60, when I received my change I gave her $3 as the tip since I was not satisfied with the service. She then proceeded to ask why I'm not tipping the associate more! Confused I explain I'm not satisfied with the service and am not required to tip at all. This was such a rude and terrible experience. If you want your employees to have more money and to not rely on tips then pay them more. I'm not required to tip and will NEVER be returning! read more

I had sns done last Tuesday evening (spent 50 dollars with top)and 2.5 days later 3 nails were chipped and by 5 days later, 7 nails chipped. This nail salon gives me life! I feel like I can finally find a treat in this neighborhood when I need to be pampered. They have both manicure stations and pedicure stations with all of their technicians professional and helpful. I'm actually the type that relies on the technicians and always bother them with advise on design or color and they recommend such good ones! It looks like the management has changed from long time ago and they did a great job to update a lot of things. Definitely my go to nail spot. Let them know if you have a certain nail bed shape you like or planning to get and they will help you prep it. literally the worst. I went in for a sns manicure.. was there for two hours and my nails look terrible. At first she filed my nails to where you can see parts of my actual nail and when i told her she added another layer of powder to then have my nails look super thick. The drying process came and they put gel top coat on my nails which sns does NOT require. I went on Thursday the 5th around 5/6 and my nails were already peeling by Sunday and they now are cracked and lifting. What a waste of 40 bucks. I'm extremely disappointed. $37 for a subpar SNS manicure. I arrived at 6:30 PM and told my manicurist I had a dinner at 7:30 PM. She said it would be fine. I ended up leaving at 7:45 PM and was late. I left in a rush and it was dark out so I couldn't really tell how bad it was. In the light of day, I'm looking at and and thinking, "Wow, I cant believe my nails are going to look like this for another 2 weeks." She didn't even do my whole nail on my thumb, the polish looks lumpy, the polish is not even and rounded around the nailbeds. It looks like I got my nails done by a college roommate. This is very disappointing because I was hoping I could come here in the future since they are open until 11 PM on weeknights and Saturdays. Horrible HORRIBLE!! Don't even waste your time . I went to this establishment last night in hopes to get this design. What a big waste of time . Prior to sitting down with the nail tech Jessica (horrible painter and designer) I showed the young lady in front the design that I wanted , she said yes we can do it . WELL THAT WAS A BIG FAT LIE !! When Jessica the tech started trying to attempt the design she said she could do (which was a lie) it looked like a mess . I told her to please remove it and showed her a new design which was easier in in hopes she was able to do it . That was another joke . She clearly couldn't do the design and the paint job was horrible . I decided not to waste another second as this place because I was already there for 2 hours . I asked her to just paint it clear which that looked horrible . I decided to go the next day and speak to a manager who was noooo help what so ever. Mind you the night prior I paid $60 for clear acrylic tips ! $60 dollars and my nails looked like press ons. The manager was no help she advised if I wanted the French I would have to pay extra . She wasn't even welling to accommodate me because her tech lied about being able to do certain designs and clearly couldnt ever polish or design nails . The shape is even awful ! Went for mani pedi. The staff are always nice and they do a nice job generally although 10 minute massage during spa pedi is always hit or miss. My concern is not with staff but management responsible for cleanliness. The hot towel used after my mani went right back in where it came from, not in the dirty laundry. The same well-worn nail files are used for everyone and implements taken from cardboard box lined with foil are used and returned to the same carboard box. Even if they are cleaned after use, they go right back in same box that contaminating it with bacteria. Everything needs a good scrubbing: counters, drying machines, those wrapping paper boxes at mani table. Seriously, what happened to clean implements from autoclave in sealed wrapper? I usually don't pay this much attention, but when I saw that towel that was used on me go right back into where it came that was the last straw. I will look elsewhere. Maya did my pedicure and she did a great job until on of her regular customers came in and she rushed to hand me off to Sara for my gel manicure. Sara was sweet but it was almost closing and the gel manicure was so rushed. I specifically asked for the polish to not be layered on too thick ... this was supposed to be my birthday manicure. The next day, 3 of my nails chipped. No wear and tear, all I did was my makeup! I am so disappointed and my manicure looks so gross, I definitely need to get them done again. My fiancé wanted me to have a pedicure and a manicure. He suggested we go to this location. Parking is well it's New York...we were able to find parking on the side of the road. There isn't a parking lot. The salon is decorated and is very clean. We didn't have to wait. My fiancé selected the pedicure spa service where your feet/legs is wrapped in Saran to remove excess skin. I enjoyed my pedicure. I also decided to try the manicure dip as opposed to having gel or acrylic. My fiancé was sitting next to me and was offered a massage which he accepted and also motioned for me to have one, everything was great UNTIL.... We were seated so that my feet & nails could dry, all of a sudden the guy that did the massages said tip (they are foreign) tip yes tip.... We were insulted, because we hadn't even paid the check out bill yet and he was asking for a tip. I felt that was unprofessional of him. If services are excellent then it should be our decision to tip WHEN we check out. We should not be asked beforehand. My fiancé did tip the person that did my manicure right after she was finished because she did an excellent massage on my toes and the massage of my feet and legs. It's pretty much a one-stop shop and the ladies that work here excel in their roles, which made me curious to see why the reviews on here were not good. My mother had a nail salon back in the day, and I used to work here and there for her lazy receptionist, so I know how this goes. If you are receiving a SERVICE, here in AMERICA, YOU SHOULD TIP! Do you go to a restaurant, order your waitress around, and not leave a tip? If you don't want to pay for tip, girl go to the supermarket and buy your own groceries, and cook for yourself at home. Same goes for any salon, if you don't want to pay tip (which most, if not all, salon workers NEED in order to make their day to day living), go to CVS, get a nail kit and do it yourself at home. It's amazing to me how people can say " oh everything was so great " and once it's time to pay up some tip as appreciation, suddenly it all goes wrong. Going to a salon and getting any type of service is a luxury and honestly, if you can't afford it, DIY! Anyways, back to what I feel about the salon.. (sorry got off topic) I tried something new the other day... it was called Apres gel x tips - it's tips but made of gel (??) Im like 40 weeks pregnant and dont have the patience or stamina to sit and do a full set that usually takes over an hour. I called ahead of time asking the price and when it was time to pay they had charged me extra. I've been coming to Kim Nail Spa for several years and am always satisfied with their service. I've tried other places in the past but never found a place that compared. I've seen other reviews on here that are negative and I'm frankly in disbelief. The employees are always friendly to customers, they're clean and do great work. Frida and Rosa have done my eyebrow threading for years and have never failed me. The gentleman that does chair massages always gives you a little extra time and is never rushed. Recently new owners have taken over and I can see how they care about the services they provide. Simple changes have been made to the salon to improve the look and whenever someone walks in or leaves the salon they are greeted with positive attitude. 8/9/2018 I had taken the gel off myself at home, and my nail beds are all ruin! Super soft and breaking Came here because I had to attend a wedding the next day, and the nail salon the I usually go was a bit too far for me to travel. And I had my worst gel manicure here. The only nice thing I could say about this place is that it seems clean. Other than this I got nothing nice to say about this place. So here's what happened, I walked in for a gel manicure, and was taken really fast. Note that I already had gel on from the other place, so the lady was filing off the top coat preparing, I told her that my nails were very thin and she need to be careful when filing them. After she wrapped my nails she started to remove the old polish from my nails and couldn't get it off, she asked if I previously UV GEL on, and I assured her that it was regular gel polish. She went on removing the polish and the polish seems to not come off and she started filing all the polish off. And I kept on telling her that my nails were already very thin, however she continued with filling very hard. That result with me loosing a piece of skin on my pinky, when I told her she seems not to care and continued to put nail polish remover. Finally when all the filing and coloring was done, I noticed that there were a lot of polish on my cuticles. I was so fed up with the lady I didn't want to mention anything to her. So when I went to pay I told the manager at the front what had happened, she simply told me to sit and they will do it again(as I mentioned before they my nails were very thin and couldn't go through anymore filing). PROS AND CONS: I been to many many nail salons and I'm VERY picky. First when I came in, I got my eyebrows done. The eyebrows lady, (very sweet pretty lady btw) didn't follow my natural shape as I usually have it. I was actually afraid if she overdid it but I looked in the mirror and I just looked so classy. So far I have gotten a lot of compliments from the change of my looks. Then was my feet. My girl was Nicole. She is lovely. She did my nail nice but didn't really scrubbed my feet or put lotion on my soles afterwards. I don't even have thick calluses. I was pretty surprise by this. The good side tho is that she completely nailed my toe nails. Perfect length! She did lotion my calves and upper foot but not both my soles for some reason? She wrapped my toes and we went to my nails done. I got this collegan gel or something? I typically don't like gels or anything like that because they are too thick for me and I really enjoy the natural look. But she convinced me to get it done. She did her best to make them look natural, like REALLY did her best. She said it would be 97$ for everything so far. Wanted to give her a 15$ tip for that. But I didn't bring enough cash and I wasn't using that ATM, so I gave her 5. Although, she didn't soak my hands and barely touched my cuticles. Obviously they aren't obvious because their cuticles but to have your nails last as long as possible you push back the cuticles and cut them. These are going to grow out in a week. I would need to spend 110$. Tips would be around 25? So 135 every week. But I got a manicure done, my cuticles wet, and my feet nicely scrubbed for 30-40$ at another location. Oh I forgot to mention, There was this man there who gave me a little massage but I think he did that because he was bored lol. But he's adorable. Gave him an appreciation tip. Overall the atmosphere is nice but I thought I would get above and beyond for 110$ for threading, Mani and pedi. The people are nice. The results are visually beautiful. I went to Kim's nail and spa on the recommendation of a co worker. I had such a good experience. They use plastic liners in the pedicure bath which is amazing. They have a special for SNS powder manicure and pedicure for $15. This was the first time doing SNS and I am so pleased with results. I will definitely be going again. read more

I gave this salon 2 chances and I don't think I'll be coming back. My first visit I got a gel mani and a pedicure. Although the girl was quick (45 minutes in and out) my gel mani on 6 out of 10 fingers started peeling! The pedicure wasn't awesome wasn't bad so no comment. I'm trembling right now during my second visit because my pedicure girl is being so rough. I asked her not to cut my cuticles but she went ahead anyways and started hashing at my toes until one of them started bleeding. This time my gel mani was sloppy and my girl walked away in the middle of it to do someone's eyebrows... This is the last time I'll be throwing away my money here read more
