Beautiful hotel located in downtown Fort Worth. Note the check-in reception is located on the 24th floor, the area on the lobby level is the concierge desk. The elevators are slow, believe it's due to the historic nature of the building and the elevators can only occupy 6 guests at a time. The team at this hotel was super nice, everyone I came into contact with smiled and said hello. The banquet team is on point, they attended to our event and was helpful with all of our needs. The fitness center is a good a size, I like when this area is spacious and airy. If you are seeking a chill boutique hotel in the area, cannot go wrong here. I stayed here for a night and received an upgrade to a suite room on 10th floor, mostly happy with my stay, the only downsides are noise from the street late night and elevator noise, also not very convenient to take elevator all the way up to check in/check out. The hotel is a short walk from the Fort Worth Center station, $2/person ride from DFW! There are orange bus at Commerce & 7th going to the Stockyard, and blue bus which is free for downtown area. There are some restaurants and an ice cream shop nearby. My room is about 600 sqft, which is very spacious for someone coming from NYC! The mini bar is fully stocked, prices are clearly listed. One large closet in the hallway and one large closet in the bedroom; yoga mat is provided in the hallway closet. One TV in the living room and one TV in the bedroom. I like that the shower room has a clear door, separating the shower and bath from toilet and vanity. There are two layers of window curtains, both privacy and black-out are taken care of. The gym is full of updated equipments. I was able to get bottled water from desk and refill my water bottle in the gym. Front desk staff were overall friendly and attentive. I'll start with the positives. The room was clean, nice shower, comfortable bed. We had a suite and it was spacious. The negatives, though, were such that we wouldn't stay again. We were on the 23rd floor and the road noise still kept us awake. We could also hear the elevators, though we weren't very near them, they are noisy, and we could hear people in the halls very late. The tv remote in bedroom didn't work. We never got the room sufficiently cooled. We were hot all night. The check in is on the 24th floor and is adjacent to the bar. We could hardly hear anything the person checking us in had to say. There are 3 very small elevators and if there is a line, you will be there for a while. We were relieved for 7 am to roll around so we could shower and check out. I would in no way rate this a luxury hotel unfortunately and yet it was quite expensive. read more

Two bad experiences. Stayed TCU parents weekend. Previous guest left a large camera bag in the room, so not sure how much time was spent cleaning the room before we arrived, as we found it immediately. Lots of late night street noise that we heard from our room, which made sleeping difficult. Parking is offsite, which is a total pain. Wife made reservations to stay again this last weekend, but I told her to cancel because of bad first experience. Still charged one night because we didn't cancel 5 days in advance. Not happy about that, but the staff was rude and condescending about it. I told them to not contact me again, but they had to text again to get the last word in. read more

The Kimpton hosted the majority of guests from the most recent wedding I attended. The rooms were clean, the valet and hotel staff were very friendly. Unfortunately they were not prepared for the number of guests they had, they didn't not have enough functioning bell hop carts (flat tires), irons, ironing boards and housekeeping staff to keep up. We often had to request housekeeping and towels via text and call multiple times a day and did not receive consistently. Upon checkout, there were many billing discrepancies including added charges that we had to go line by line room my room. For example they added valet parking to all rooms when many of the guests traveled in and did not even have cars as they were leveraging ride share while in town. The hotel is so nice and has a great location - just wished the follow through was better. read more

I wish I could give zero stars because giving 1 star is being far too generous. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated with this hotel. My recent stay at the Kimpton Hotel was one of the most FRUSTRATING and STRESSFUL travel experiences I have ever had. My stay at this hotel was completely overshadowed by a SERIOUS BILLING MISTAKE, which has triggered a cascade of issues, including declined payments, overdraft fees, and wasted time going back and forth with my bank and the hotel manager. I've stayed at many hotels over the years when traveling for work and leisure, and I have NEVER in my life had to deal with a situation this careless or disruptive. We love visiting the Kimpton in Fort Worth for little staycations. Many very good restaurants within walking distance. I regret that the parking in that area is so expensive. The best thing about this hotel is the location walking distance from Sundance square and their top floor bar and view. The hotel is old and even with visible upgrades to make it aesthetically nice, there were still many issues one of many being how incredibly slow their elevators are. We constantly spent time just waiting for them and with the lobby on the 24th floor and our room on the 18th, there were really no other options. The room was "ok" but did not even have an iron or steamer, had no bathroom fan switch and had only one plug in the bathroom that did not work. Any time we showered we had to deal with an intermittent squeal and vibration from the pipes the entire time the water was on. The room continued to pump out cold air despite what we did with the thermostat. All night we had a mysterious beeping from inside the room that we couldn't identify. The front desk staff were not very warm or friendly and are definitely just doing their job and nothing more. They treated us like a nuisance for unknowingly using a third party to book the room (we were not aware of this until they told us since the third party has their name as their website). The valet took FOREVER and for $50 a night, we didn't expect to be waiting almost 30 minutes for the car. This place is advertised as an upscale 4 star but they are barely a 3. There are much nicer places to stay without the headache that comes with this place. read more

I'll say you must have patience as everything is slow at this establishment. Be ready to wait to check in if there is more than one guest at a time, if you order any services or supplies to the room, and if you need valet. So plan ahead of you're in a rush. The beds are fabulous, rooms nicely done and the extra living space made it excellent for an office set up separate from the sleeping area. Let me start by saying that the service and general aesthetics of this boutique hotel is excellent. I flew in from NY and after a long flight, checked into the Kimpton around 10:45pm. Stood on line for a few mins and was greeted by Bruce at the front desk. He's awesome. Seriously. Told me that I looked like I could use a glass of wine, walked away, and handed me a glass before he started checking me in. Swear I wanted to hug him - that's how grateful I was. He was pleasant and exuded all of the southern hospitality I hear so much about (which I'm not used to being from NY). Got to my room and it was beautiful....then I saw all of the stains on the carpet. They were gross....and everywhere - living room, bedroom, couch, even a stain on the bathroom rug. The pictures don't do it justice. I immediately called Bruce and within less than 5mins he sent security down to my room to deliver a new set of keys for a new room. If that's not ridiculously good service, I don't know what is. Headed upstairs to my new room, walked in and it was just as nice as the first room, but still plenty of gross noticeable stains on the floor. Like, everywhere - pretty disgusting, but I was way too tired at that point to switch rooms again. I was shocked and confused as to why they don't have maintenance check the rooms and clean the carpet. A carpet cleaning machine is literally a hundred bucks at Home Depot - they need to invest in one....or two. Also, the elevator takes FOREVER. I'm not kidding. I waited a full 10mins at one point and there was a line of people behind me waiting to squeeze in once it arrived. Lastly, I tried ordering room service at 3:15 and was told their kitchen is closed between 3pm and 5pm....um, ok. Had to get dressed and go out to find food - super inconvenient. So other than the slow elevators, inconvenient room service times, gross carpets and my advisory to keep your socks on while waking around, this hotel is fairly good - and so is their staff. read more

We had a rough start at this hotel. Request a handicapped room and received a hearing impaired room which could not accommodate us. Wayne the manger completely turn ed things around and solved most of our problems with room and service. They strive to resolve service issues and growing challenges along the way. They do care about the guests and solve problems that arise. Things did turn around. I came to the Harper on a last minute business trip to Fort Worth. I was grateful to find a Kimpton in the area, as I'm a huge fan of the brand. The valet parking was clearly notated and is right in front of the hotel. There were multiple valet attendants waiting to help me with bags and to immediately park my car. There was no main level front desk, so I had to take the (very slow) elevator up to the top floor, which ended up working out because the views from the top floor are STUNNING - and I got there for the complimentary wine hour, which also included an amazing hummus as well. It was a nice way to end what was a long travel day before heading to my room. I stayed in a King Premium City View and while the room was tight in terms of space, it did have a desk space, chair to lounge in, and an extremely comfortable king bed. I had some really great nights of sleep during my 3 nights there, which is definitely NOT something that I can say often about my sleep during business travel! The bathroom was almost as big as the room with a huge shower (with great water pressure) and also a lot of counter space, which I always appreciate. The gym space was also one of the most well-equipped (and spacious!) I've encountered during business travel. A TON of cardio machines lined up against a window, so it was the actual DREAM hotel gym situation. There were also a ton of weights, a space for yoga, and different weight machines too. Overall this was a solid stay with a great on-site bar on the 24th floor and restaurant downstairs, in addition to being in a really solid and walkable area. read more

Take the elevators to the 24th floor for front desk check in. Nice lounge and you will be able to see neighboring Dallas as you sip on a cocktail. Beds are comfy, pillows not so much. Both bars and restaurant are pretty good. Minus one star because you may have to wait a while for an elevator that is already tiny. read more

Really liked the hotel, it's service and prompt responses via text! The location itself is pretty central for downtown, with Sundance square a short walk away. I agree with an earlier review on the status of the carpets- we found a small stain tucked away in a corner near the bed. Two reasons for my 4 star review: 1) Pet friendliness: we love and chose this hotel because it's amenable policy and really appreciated that don't charge a fee for traveling with out little one! She literally goes with us everywhere! What's disappointing, though, is that there's not pet relief area on the premises. We had to walk our pup about 3 blocks down just to potty! A small relief area on or near the hotel would be ideal! 2) Valet: they're as efficient as they can be but let's just say that leaving the hotel, after just picking up my car, I saw one of the fly past me, through a red light, to get to the parking garage they use about 3 blocks from the hotel. Once I parked, I noticed a bunch of scuff marks on my tires which I literally just had cleaned/washed so, it def wasn't me. If this is the service they use, oof! I'm wondering if I should've just taken my chances parking at a meter! read more

This was not a four star experience. They're shooting for a remodeled historic vibe, but apparently are struggling through the process as several important things were inoperable at the time of our stay. Beginning with the hotel's computer system causing around a 20 minute delay in check-in. We were then informed that ice machines were all broken, except for even floors above 16. Like... What? Refillable water station on the third floor turned out to be the water cooler in the gym, LOL. Top it off with arriving in our room to discover broken AC on a brutally hot and humid Texas day. Picked up the phone to call the front desk only to discover that the phone is also inoperable. We got through on a cell only to have the girl who checked us in state, "engineering won't be here until 9 in the morning". Uhhhhh... What? Are you seriously suggesting that we stay in a room with no AC and it will just get fixed tomorrow? This is a 4 star establishment? Really? At this point we would have left and found accommodations elsewhere had it not been so late. Instead we had to ASK to be moved to a suitable room. When we went back up to re-key, move all our luggage, etc., staff response was tepid at best. I honestly wouldn't stay here again for half of what I paid. There are too many other options within 1 mile. Stay away from this one. read more

Stayed at this hotel while doing a downtown event. Service is absolutely excellent in this hotel. From the minute you walk through the door you are treated like royalty. They even give you a local beer or a bottle of water as you are checking in. Rooms are all spacious and appointed nicely. We particularly enjoyed the bar in the evening after our event, where the drinks were creative and the view of downtown Fort Worth enjoyable. They also had a free wine reception in the before dinner hours. All that said, I did find this hotel a bit overpriced. We did not spring for a view with our room, which meant we looked at another building wall. That was fine, but still the non-view room was quite expensive. I would say this is a good hotel for a romantic one night stay. But for more than one night, it is not worth the price and there are other hotels nearby that are equally convenient and not much of a step down for a lot less money. Gave a 4 out of 5 based on the price and cost value. read more

When you arrive there is only valet parking available through the hotel. There are some metered parking spaces around the block. There is a restaurant and the concierge located on the 1st floor. You take the elevator all the way to the 24th floor to get to the front desk to check in. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but at times there was confusion because the hotel had just opened a few days before our arrival. I stayed in room 1914 which is a corner king. The room had 3 windows and was quite stuffy since the air was not on. Your key card has to go in a slot by the door to have electricity in the room. The air took a long time to cool off the room. There is a small cube fridge in the room, but no microwave. The bed was quite comfortable with fluffy pillows and bedding. I asked for an extra blanket because the duvet was too thick and the sheet was too thin. The walk in shower took a while to get hot and it is impossible to adjust the shower head, it's too high. They have big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and soap, but small bottles of lotion. I didn't care for the smell of the soap, it was similar to lemon Pledge furniture polish. I enjoyed my stay. read more

We loved this hotel! We went to the hotel early to see if they could hold our bags, since we didn't want to leave them in the car cause it's 110 degrees. They said we could check in early. We asked if we could upgrade and they said they had a suite available. They offered us waters too. But Wow! The suite was so spacious. It was amazing! It smelled so good in the room. Super clean! The AC was quiet and nice and cold. The bathroom was gorgeous. We had breakfast at the attached restaurant. Highly recommend you try their homemade jam and salsa! The sausage and bacon were incredible. It's not your typical brunch, hotel food. It's great quality. The ONLY thing that gave me pause about the stay, were the elevators. They rattled and shook. And you're only allowed 4 people. Did people follow the sign? Nope. I was stressing. But other than that, it was a great stay. The location was perfect. We had reservations at Ruth Chris, which was across the crosswalk. It was a 3 minute walk to Sundance Square. And a 5 minute walk to Hyenas comedy club. Every year, I'm at a convention, and this will be my go to hotel. It's perfectly located. Out of all the hotels that I've stayed out downtown, this has been my favorite. read more

We stayed here just for a night out in ft worth. The hotel is dog friendly, so we decided to bring our two little girls too. Pulled up, had no problem with valet parking. Our only thing when we got there was where to go.... Checkin is on the top floor. After figuring that out, checked in and everyone was so nice. Wish they had a map of dog friendly places like the website says. Front desk were able to point us in the right direction. The room was great, good size and amazing view. So disappointed, I want to cry. We booked this hotel as a "highly recommended" from our American Express Platinum card. It was one of the few 4+ stars in Fort Worth that I could find. From the start, it was far less than 4 stars. Maybe 2 stars, if we count the historical factor and location. First of all, we drove up for valet parking. The valet attendants barely greeted us. No one helped with our bags. They scuttled us through mumbling that we needed to check in on the 24th floor. While we were tired, sweaty, tons of bags ... Not one of the 3 offered to help us. So we went to check in. At the desk, Brandon was "okay." No stellar 5-star greeting, barely answered our questions, the bare minimum. My son asked if there were any good places to grab a quick bite nearby. Brandon hesitated, made no effort to answer his question, but rather said, "Well, a lot of bars, not for you" (since my son is obviously underage/teenager). I just shook my head and we walked away to our rooms, dejected. (Yet hoping to find restaurants on our own, which we did ... there ARE many nearby within just a few blocks ... Brandon obviously had other concerns, like, not talking to guests.) Husband and I had a king suite city-view and the boys had a 2-bed "essential" room. But there was only one bed in their room. So we went back to tell them that we specifically requested the 2-bed option for the "essential room." Brandon did not apologize, did not act like he cared; instead, he just kept repeating "Oh, that's house choice, we choose your room." (That is NOT how it was advertised.) So I begged for 2 beds, since the 16-year old teen boys did not want to share. But, they had no more rooms. Did Brandon apologize? NO. Not a single "wow, sorry," not even a "sorry there was a misunderstanding," nothing but a shoulder shrug and "tough luck." Alas, the boys are sharing the bed and trying to laugh about it. So we got to our room. Thermostat was set at 61 degrees. SIXTY ONE. It was freezing. So we turned it up to 74 degrees, left the room to explore Fort Worth and get a bite to eat. It's a nice location, downtown, near a lot of restaurants and bars. We returned to the room an hour and a half later, expecting it to be comfortable temperature. The temperature was .. 61.5 degrees (but reads "set at 74"). This is not a joke. So, I had to call Brandon back again and tell him the thermostat was broken. (Did he apologize for the inconvenience? No, of course not.) He said, "I'll let engineering know" and hung up. After a couple minutes, I called him back to see if we could get another room or had any other options (this room is absolutely freezing!) He said, "Well, you just called me a minute ago and I already told you, I will tell engineering!" I said, "I understand that, but please, can't you do anything right now? We are miserable!" He said tersely, "I said I would tell engineering. That's all I can do." And hung up. So here we are. In a nice room that feels like Antarctica that we paid almost $1,000 a night for ... for not just sub-par service but terrible service. I feel disillusioned and disgusted. Please please please save your money!! There is an 'Aloft' just two blocks away that my husband and I actually stood looking longingly at .... wondering why we paid triple for this awful experience. If I could do this over, in a heartbeat. It's worse than Motel 6, from what I remember in my college days, if service is a primary goal (and it is always ours). Addendum: it's 30 minutes later, we are still freezing, no one has checked on us or bothered to care that our room is 61 degrees. I feel like contacting Better Business Bureau or something (it's really that bad). read more

I'm the kind of person that likes a little weekend getaway-from-home at hotels from time to time. I've stayed in all kinds of places in TX, and this is one of my new favorites. The room was beautiful, modern, luxurious, and clean. There's lots of yummy places to eat within walking distance. The one really weird thing is that there's a front desk when you walk in, but they don't use it- you have to go to the 24th floor to check in. I used to be an avid Marriott Bonvoy member but no joke I am forever changed. My husband and I came to Fort Worth for a family emergency and Sean & Wayne have continued to be amazing. These last few days have rocked us emotionally but I am floored with the level of care from these folks. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, and it has really made me rethink my several year long tie to Marriott and Hyatt. Kimpton is definitely a boutique feel and they have gone out of their way to not only make me and my husband feel comfortable but also my daughter (who's 4) and our nanny. There are so many little important touches here that make it stand out from a stale Marriott. It feels more personal, less like corporate BS, they seem to actually care, from the bellman to bartenders to the front desk people... I am overjoyed.
