He called me about an hour after dropping it off and asked me to come down so that he could show me what he sees with the car up on the lift. When I got there he walked me through how either the engine or turbo was pushing oil into the exhaust system and is what ruined the catalytic converter. He told me that he recommended not repairing it and moving on from the vehicle as the repair with the new catalytic converter and pulling apart the engine to find the source would be very costly. Having found an honest mechanic, I then picked his brain for another 15 minutes regarding his experience with different vehicles. After driving the vehicle, diagnosing the exhaust system, putting it up on the lift and walking me through everything, he didn't want to accept payment! He felt like he didn't do anything for me! After some haggling he agreed to take half what he had earned. Maybe it was a wise move though. He will now be the only mechanic I send anyone to.

At one point I could no longer unlock the Driver's side door from the outside or inside as the long metal arm between the locking peg and the lock itself broke off. No one made or sold that part anymore. I thought I'd have to finish my last year without a car, and then my first couple paychecks after that trying to get a newer one. The mechanics at Mitchell machined a new part and then installed it for about $20. The car saw me through commissioned officer training in the Air Force, and my young family to our first duty station on the East Coast. I'll always be grateful to Mitchell's for going beyond expectations, and at the same time being super understanding of where I was in my life, how needed the car was, and how limited of a budget I had.

After coming back to the shop 3 hours later to pick it up, my car was not at the shop. Turns out they took the car to another shop in town who had the correct machines to get the job done. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time instead of seeing my car driven in to the shop from a different shop. Fast forward to now, my AC went out again several weeks ago and I'll need to take it in once more to inspect what is happening. While this service was cheaper then competitors I feel it may have been worth it in the long run to take it somewhere else because I'll end up paying more to get it done again anyway at this point.

The problem involved a new set of tires on our family wagon, which after being installed created a slight pull to one side. We finally got to the bottom of it. They really do take care of you, and Jeff and his brother are great! A family business over 100 years old that's very highly recommended.

Let's just say I would not recommend this store to anyone, I recently took my truck in to get some…read morenew tires mounted and balanced on my wheels, when I picked the truck up I noticed that 3 out of my 4 wheels had been severely damaged with scratches and chips of paint off of them, when I called the store the owner seemed very apologetic and understanding and wanted to help me get them fixed. I understand things happen and was willing to let them make it right without causing a big deal. Next week rolls around and I take my truck in for 2 days to get the wheels re painted. When I go to pick the truck up I immediately notice that the "new paint" is very cloudy, orange peeled, and not even the same color as the original paint, they tried to "blend" the paint and left a solid line around the wheel where you can clearly see doesn't match. Had 2 employees come out with me to Look and they both seemed to agree with what I had seen. The owner then proceeded to tell me "he thought they looked ok". Just sad that now my $2000 wheels just look "ok". Owner offered to "split" the cost of new wheels as if it's my fault they did a poor job and ruined my wheels. After I denied to split the cost he wanted to try to "repaint" them again to see if they could get it closer, then expects me to take work off for the 3rd time to bring it over and be without my truck for 2 days once again. With not being able to get work off or be without a vehicle for a while I guess I just get to cut my loss and deal with what I've got. Been going to this store for years but definitely won't be returning after this experience. Definitely don't recommend to anyone who expects better than just "ok" work on their vehicle.
