She operates by appointment so your time is yours. She was very welcoming and took her time shaping my brows. She also finished with a quick cool forehead massage. What I liked the most was that she left me with brows! I have very thin brows and most threaders take off too much with no real shape. I've been to a few others before and sometimes I think finding the best fit lash artist is like Cinderella and her glass slipper...you gotta try a few until you find the best fit! Let me tell you exactly how I've come to fall completely in love with her work: 1) Perfectionist! Katie does spend time on her volume sets but that's because she is literally making absolutely perfect fans on every single one of your lashes. How do I know? Because as my lashes grow out and naturally shed, I'll find one on my counter sink in PERFECT fan, not clumped together, not 3-4 lashes with globs on glue at the base. They are perfectly spaced lash fans that create beautiful wispy volume. I would rather lay there for two hours with PERFECTLY fanned out volume lashes than have a rushed one hour session with clumps. 2) Genuine and Real! Katie is honest and isn't trying to just make a fast buck with shoddy work. When I came to see her after not being able to be scheduled with my previous lash girl, she very honestly told me that she needed to remove the previous work and let my lashes grow back a bit. She could've easily just removed my previous set and put a new set on, but after removal, she saw that I had some natural lashes that needed to grow a bit more (apparently they might've been pulled out in a chunk due to glue clumping from my previous artist's work). She wanted what was best for my lashes and not what was best for her pocket! 3) Caring! She cares about the health of your natural lashes and wants you to be able to enjoy lash extensions for a long time. She educates you on your natural lash growth circle and lash care and because she is so meticulous in her careful placement of every full lash fan, my lashes really DO get healthier! 4) Lastly, TALENTED AF! She knows that I have thin but long natural Asian lashes and that a D curl is not going to work with my small Asian double lid. She knew to use a C curl, she knew to use thinner but more lashes versus thicker and less, she knew what length would work with my eye shape! She customizes it to fit your look. I even referred my girl friend to her who is also Asian but has different shaped eyes than me and I could tell she did a slightly different style and it looked amazing on her. Oh wait sorry and one more 5) did I mention her lashes lasted ALL MONTH? I used to get my lashes filled every two WEEKS with all my previous lash artists. I don't know how she does it, but they still looked good a MONTH later when I came back in for a new set. You know what that means? Better for my wallet! Katie is in it for quality lashes, customized looks and longevity of your natural lashes! Anyway, I've found the Cinderella to my glass slipper. I had admired Nikki's work for years and was so excited when she opened a location in Frisco. After…read moreseeing so many beautiful transformations online, I finally decided to book an appointment. At $40 (plus tip) for eyebrow threading, it's definitely on the expensive side, but I was willing to invest if it meant finding someone I could trust with my brows. Unfortunately, after nearly a year of appointments, I never left feeling happy with my eyebrows. From the beginning, I was told that the only way to achieve a nice shape was to let my eyebrows grow in significantly. I personally prefer a more groomed look rather than fuller brows, but I trusted her expertise and wanted to see her vision through. Between appointments, I only cleaned up the middle of my brows at home and left the rest alone. Occasionally, if I had an event to attend, I would tweeze a few stray hairs that had already been threaded previously. At almost every appointment, I was told my eyebrows weren't improving because I was removing hair. The problem is, after almost a year of following her advice, the areas she continually pointed out still never grew in. My hair simply does not grow there. Instead of working with the natural growth I have, I felt like I was repeatedly blamed for something that wasn't within my control. The comment that ultimately made me decide not to return happened during my last visit. When she told me my eyebrow hair wasn't growing, I asked which areas she meant. Her response was, "Everywhere." I found that incredibly discouraging and unprofessional, especially as someone who had consistently supported her business, trusted her process, and paid premium pricing every visit. I also experienced appointments starting late because phone calls were being finished before clients were seen. I tried to be understanding because I know life happens, and I know she's experienced significant life changes. I genuinely wanted to continue supporting her business and gave plenty of grace throughout the year. Ultimately, I decided to try another brow artist at a much lower price point, and I finally walked out with the eyebrow shape I had been hoping for all along. I can absolutely see why Nikki has loyal clients, and I don't doubt that her style works well for many people. However, my experience was that her approach felt very one-size-fits-all. Rather than working with the eyebrows I naturally have, I felt like I was being judged against the eyebrows she wished I had. I believe a great brow artist should be able to adapt their technique to each client's natural growth and desired look. I truly wanted this experience to work out, which makes this review disappointing to write. Unfortunately, after nearly a year of giving it every chance, I simply wasn't satisfied with either the results or the way I was made to feel as a client.
