Sweet Cacao recently relocated from their former Jackson Street location to a new and larger retail…read morespot on Broad Street. Every trip I make to Thomasville includes a stop at Sweet Cacao. My companions and I have sampled the sipping chocolate, which is a small hot cup of exactly what you think...sipping chocolate. It's more dessert that hot beverage to warm you up. But it is utterly delicious! There are plenty of dessert offerings from gelato to sorbet, to colorful macrons, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, milkshakes, and coffee drinks galore. If that isn't enough they put themselves over the top with hand crafted truffles, each with their own design and flavor profile. The staff will package them in a 2, 4, 8 or 12 count box for gifting. I dare you to leave without a box! They also offer a small caramel filled or dark chocolate bar for about $3.00. They are delicious! You may just have to eat it if it's a hot day outside. You wouldn't want this melting before you get to enjoy it! This is one of my personal favs! Now parking is a bit tricky. There is angled parking in front of the store and on both sides of Broad Street, but this is a busy area for shoppers, diners, locals and tourists. So, if you just venture around the corner to East Jefferson Street, there is more parking. On a busy Saturday, we found plenty of empty spaces midday on East Jefferson Street, where Broad Street was full! It is wonderful to see a local business thriving like Sweet Cacoa! The line out the door proved just how popular this dessert haven is! If you need a gift for a hostess or just a sweet treat yourself, this shop is a must-stop location and is on my regular Thomasville routine shopping destinations.

The store is under an interior redesign as of early April 2025, but don't let that deter you. The donuts and pastries are as good as they have ever been. Staff are polite, friendly and personable. They go out of their way to help fill your order and will take their time to name every donut in the display case. My personal favorites include the apple fritter, cinnamon swirl roll, glazed twist, Chocolate glazed creme filled, the peach pie and the chocolate chip cookie sandwich. If you're in a hurry, don't forget to request an order of glazed donut holes! You can tell they're made fresh daily. They taste so crisp and melt in your mouth. I do recommend going on the early side. I tend to visit on Saturdays and you can tell they've been busy because the case has few options if you go after 10:30 am. Arrive early for the best selection.

And to say that the doughnut topped with chocolate, cream and caramel were great is an understatement -- literally the best doughnut I've ever had. My husband loved the peach fritter, which came in multiple flavors.. and my children loved the strawberry sprinkled doughnuts, which were actually strawberry, not just pink frosting. Everything we had was fantastic and we can't wait to go back!!

My server immediately came to the table, brought me an unsweetened tea. I was torn between shrimp n grits or the Parmesan crusted black grouper. My said both were great. I chose the grouper. My entree arrived and it didn't disappoint. A large thick piece of grouper cooked perfectly surrounded by a crispy delicious crust. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and tender with a tasty sweet glaze. The greens were also on point - lots of bacon pieces and a sweet/spicy taste. Lunch came with a large crispy hush puppy. With tip - lunch was $50. A bit pricey - I don't mind paying top dollar for a top quality meal and service. Well done Jonah's!

Not really worth the wait. Decent food. Friendly staff. But nothing super special. For Thomasville, I get it, but I live in Pensacola where there is a place like this on every corner. I had the grouper sandwich (blackened) and the fried green tomatoes for a starter. The FGTs were very good. The sandwich was average except that the ciabatta bun was exceptional. Cheese grits on the side were above average. Brussels sprouts were just like any bistro Brussels sprouts ever (man, I wish this trend would die, but I keep ordering them hoping to be surprised.) The place was PACKED (as usual) but the staff were friendly and attentive. For me, however, this is expected in any restaurant. Therefore: 3 stars for decent - if unimaginative- food and good service. Will not come back unless there is no line ... albeit an unlikely scenario.

Got their version of BamBam Shrimp on a bed of greens.to start. Presentation was on a bed of chopped iceberg lettuce, no side plates were offered, and we used our single paper napkin to keep our silverware off the table and wipe our mouths. No linen napkins. I did surf n turf, medium well which most kitchens struggle with. No different here, cooked well all the way through. Baked potato was genuinely cool to the touch. Collard greens were excessively seasoned with vinegar. Not good at all. The presentation was shockingly bad, one side on my plate had a rim of black pepper, the other side had a rim of butter from the shrimp, that's my best guess. Shockingly bad. My wife ordered ribeye medium rare. The outer part was well done and the inside was very rare, cook temperature way too high. Baked potato cool to the touch again. From my seat the kitchen looked chaotic and undisciplined, no quality control at the pass at all, no floor manager present anywhere to be seen. Sometimes my view was blocked by employees clocking in to work. This table should be the last to be assigned period. Non culinary folks could find easy ways to improve this place, linen napkins, side plates, hot food, precision cooking etc. The lack of oversight for the food preparation and presentation of the food killed the experience for sure, no supervision or management of the kitchen and food.

French bread toasted and topped with fried oysters, poached eggs, and a Cajun cream sauce. So delicious and perfectly prepared. Bloody Mary paired very well with this dish! French cut pork chop, blackened, and topped with mango chutney! So tender and juicy! I chose collard greens as one side and they have that true southern taste! Red beans and rice as the second side...a personal favorite. We sat outside as it has a great vibe since it's located at an old train depot! If you're lucky a train will pass by while you're dining! Service is nice and servers are very attentive. You can also sit in the Bar Mason and get fabulous service as well and order off of the menu as if you were in the restaurant or sitting outside. It's quaint, charming, and has that small-town, heartwarming vibe that makes you want to linger over your coffee a little longer. I ordered the Homemade Hash and Eggs, and it was almost perfect. The portion is hearty, so much so that I couldn't even finish it. But here's the kicker: the dish had absolutely no seasoning. None. Not even a sprinkle of salt and pepper. As someone who loves bold flavors, I found that strange. Thankfully, they had salt and pepper on hand, so after a generous shake (okay, several generous shakes), it turned into exactly what I hoped for: hearty, satisfying, and delicious. The coffee was solid but mild. I'm a "give me an extra espresso shot" kind of girl, so I would have preferred something a bit bolder. They offer basic creamer and sugar options, but I didn't notice any flavored coffee or syrups, so if that's your thing, keep it in mind. If you're a simple coffee drinker, you'll be just fine. What really sets Savannah Moon apart, though, is the service. The girl who greeted and served me was friendly and super sweet, exactly what you'd hope for in a place like this. She was genuine in a way that made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time here. Overall, this is the quintessential breakfast spot. The prices are average in comparison to most of the sit-down breakfast spots I frequent. It's not trying too hard, it's warm and welcoming, and it just feels like the kind of place you want to visit again (and I definitely will).

I was there for breakfast, and had a Lavazzo cup of coffee, corned beef/potato hash with two basted eggs, and it was delicious. The corned beef hash was not prepared by a chef with precise knife cuts, but how I would do at home--irregularly cut potatoes, onions--it looked like hash! My friend had Eggs Benedict, and she told me they were perfectly delicious. And guess what? Bill was right at $25! Our server was a friendly, attentive young woman, who took good care of us. Run, don't walk, for an amazing breakfast at Savannah Moon Bakery, in downtown Thomasville. Their downtown deserves its own entry on social media.
