Desserts galore!!! Was informed of this place by my mother and we stopped by last Friday on our way back from Gainesville. I was almost like a kid in a candy store! Everything looked so good, tons and tons of calories for sure, lol! But, indulging in some sweets every now and then is ok. Plus, there were frozen homemade dishes as well (such as mac and cheese, lasagna, chicken alfredo, chicken broccoli casserole, etc.). Along with a few desserts, I also purchased several of the frozen meals. I tried the mac and cheese and it was ok"; a bit bland for my taste, but not too bad. I will try the chicken alfredo and the chicken /broccoli/cheddar and rice dish this week sometime. The main draw though is the desserts, which I can highly recommend! We got lemon cookies, banana nut bread, and cinnamon rolls (had to take the very sweet icing off, but enjoyed the rest). I will plan to go back when I happen to be in Thomasville again and will try different desserts; sounds like fun! I will also try their pickled okra and some of the homemade jams.

Make this a stop if I'm the area! They have the best cinnamon rolls, brownies, & peanut clusters!

Must stop here when driving back from Atlanta.

Their strawberry pie was to DIE for. In fact, everything we purchased was delicious. I wish we lived closer. I would visit again.

If you've ever wished you could step into a cozy breakfast scene straight out of a movie, Savannah…read moreMoon Bakery & Cafe is your spot. It's quaint, charming, and has that small-town, heartwarming vibe that makes you want to linger over your coffee a little longer. I ordered the Homemade Hash and Eggs, and it was almost perfect. The portion is hearty, so much so that I couldn't even finish it. But here's the kicker: the dish had absolutely no seasoning. None. Not even a sprinkle of salt and pepper. As someone who loves bold flavors, I found that strange. Thankfully, they had salt and pepper on hand, so after a generous shake (okay, several generous shakes), it turned into exactly what I hoped for: hearty, satisfying, and delicious. The coffee was solid but mild. I'm a "give me an extra espresso shot" kind of girl, so I would have preferred something a bit bolder. They offer basic creamer and sugar options, but I didn't notice any flavored coffee or syrups, so if that's your thing, keep it in mind. If you're a simple coffee drinker, you'll be just fine. What really sets Savannah Moon apart, though, is the service. The girl who greeted and served me was friendly and super sweet, exactly what you'd hope for in a place like this. She was genuine in a way that made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time here. Overall, this is the quintessential breakfast spot. The prices are average in comparison to most of the sit-down breakfast spots I frequent. It's not trying too hard, it's warm and welcoming, and it just feels like the kind of place you want to visit again (and I definitely will).

I was there for breakfast, and had a Lavazzo cup of coffee, corned beef/potato hash with two basted eggs, and it was delicious. The corned beef hash was not prepared by a chef with precise knife cuts, but how I would do at home--irregularly cut potatoes, onions--it looked like hash! My friend had Eggs Benedict, and she told me they were perfectly delicious. And guess what? Bill was right at $25! Our server was a friendly, attentive young woman, who took good care of us. Run, don't walk, for an amazing breakfast at Savannah Moon Bakery, in downtown Thomasville. Their downtown deserves its own entry on social media.

WHAT WAS I THINKING!…read more Prior to visiting to this area, I knew that the Flowers Baking Company was here and I was hoping that that they had an actual bakery store that we could visit. Now in my little, "I love a good bakery" brain I am picturing an actual bakery that prepares its very own baked goods. For some reason I did not picture a corporate entity that prepares regional snacks. Perhaps I got caught up in my perception of the typical small town. Well, imagine my surprise and disappointment when I enter the store and realize that they actually bake the Mrs. Freshleys and Tastykake brands that you find in your local grocery store. Nooooo! What a flake! In addition to the baked treats, they also had sandwich bread and buns a variety of regular and flavored chips, sauces, condiments and even pickles. will find chips, beverages, pickles, cracklin, beverages, jellies, syrups and other items. Some of their baked items are delivered fresh from the bakery on the same day and others are left over after the drivers complete their deliveries. If you want to know about the fresh items available, simply ask one of the employees. You might really enjoy this store if you have to pack a number of school lunches or if you like having a variety of snacks on hand. Although we did not purchase any products, it was nice to explore the thrift shop and to see the various items that have absolutely nothing to do with baking. No problem there because everyone loves the convenience of a one-stop shop! Check it out!
