This place is so good! My only regret is not buying more macarons. They are absolutely delicious.read more

Sweet Cacao recently relocated from their former Jackson Street location to a new and larger retail…read morespot on Broad Street. Every trip I make to Thomasville includes a stop at Sweet Cacao. My companions and I have sampled the sipping chocolate, which is a small hot cup of exactly what you think...sipping chocolate. It's more dessert that hot beverage to warm you up. But it is utterly delicious! There are plenty of dessert offerings from gelato to sorbet, to colorful macrons, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, milkshakes, and coffee drinks galore. If that isn't enough they put themselves over the top with hand crafted truffles, each with their own design and flavor profile. The staff will package them in a 2, 4, 8 or 12 count box for gifting. I dare you to leave without a box! They also offer a small caramel filled or dark chocolate bar for about $3.00. They are delicious! You may just have to eat it if it's a hot day outside. You wouldn't want this melting before you get to enjoy it! This is one of my personal favs! Now parking is a bit tricky. There is angled parking in front of the store and on both sides of Broad Street, but this is a busy area for shoppers, diners, locals and tourists. So, if you just venture around the corner to East Jefferson Street, there is more parking. On a busy Saturday, we found plenty of empty spaces midday on East Jefferson Street, where Broad Street was full! It is wonderful to see a local business thriving like Sweet Cacoa! The line out the door proved just how popular this dessert haven is! If you need a gift for a hostess or just a sweet treat yourself, this shop is a must-stop location and is on my regular Thomasville routine shopping destinations.

I'm not even sure where to begin. In summary, a very good experience--but an experience. I was here…read morein search of cane syrup, understand, from out of town--just visiting after an afternoon at the springs and dinner at O'Neal's Buffet. My friend and local guide to Madison told me I needed to check here for the syrup--it's where he gets fishing tackle . . . yes, at a grocery store. There are like three aisles of just fishing tackle and reels and rods. In a grocery store. That's the first sign you're somewhere special. And there's like half an aisle of camping gear, as well. The store otherwise seems larger than most IGAs I've been to before and well-stocked. They didn't have pure cane syrup but they had an astounding variety of cane syrup blends: Gilley's, Daddy Buck's, Delta, and others. Cane syrup, like maple syrup, is expensive when pure so it often gets blended with other sweeteners--I use it in baking so that's overall ok by me. They may also have been out because we're right upon the season when it's traditionally made, so last year's supply may be running low and this year's not to market just yet. Aside from the syrups, they had a great baking aisle in general: lots of cornbread and other savory mixes (hushpuppies, et cetera), cake mixes, and Goodman's Extracts which Publix doesn't carry and other stores may at best have just their vanilla but they make good, stranger flavored, extracts like caramel and black walnut. If you want to know if people in a given community like to bake, go to the local grocery store, check out the extracts: if they have a vast selection, you've got serious bakers around. The smell of this store is unlike anything I've ever smelled before: not bad, but just weird. Maybe plasticky, not quite chemical, not quite food, again not bad but just strange. Still, this store is a winner in my book, it feels a bit out of the 80s, a bit stuck in time, but a gem all the same.

At checkout at Bob and Jeff's I realized I didn't have my credit card and not enough cash to pay…read morefor my groceries. The checkout person paid the balance for me! That would never happen at Publix. Bob and Jeff's is the best.

They had smoked pork chops tonight and were as equally complimentary! You can't go wrong with anything from Hubbard's Country Meats! My personal favorite is the cubed steak. Not tough or stringy and has great flavor!

The store opened in 2019 and I am sorry I didn't not learn about it sooner with the frequent trips we make to Thomasville. This has become one of our standard stops! They're open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm. If you're traveling, bring a cooler bag and some ice packs because you're sure going to want to stop here! This store offers quality beef and pork, as well as spices, sauces, jams, jellies, syrups, and frozen foods and more! I'm just going to say that if you buy nothing else, try the cob smoked bacon! I'd never heard of cob smoked anything before and this opened my eyes! They actually smoke the bacon with corn cobs. It offers a delicious and hearty taste to your perception of bacon. The applewood smoked bacon is also a standout choice! The sausages are also wonderful too and deserve your attention. The Jalapeno cheddar sausage is spicy for sure. If you are sensitive to spicy heat, I'd say just order the smoked sausage. You cannot go wrong with that. The staff are as personable, friendly and know their products. They are helpful with the number of servings and how many pounds you need to accomodate. They package everything in a swift fashion and you know everything is fresh! I recommend this if you're local to the area or traveling for a day trip!
