We had lunch at Jackson Avenue Pub and still had enough room for dessert, so we decided to walk over to a nearby ice cream parlor. As soon as I walked in, I honestly felt like a kid again. I was amazed by all the homemade treats they had fudge, chocolate, caramel apples, and plenty of other goodies besides ice cream. They even make their waffle cones in house! I ordered the waffle bowl with a scoop of their limited-time Key Lime flavor. My wife got the Blue Moon, and my son went with vanilla. I really enjoyed the Key Lime ice cream. It had a strong, refreshing key lime flavor with little cake crumbles mixed in. The waffle bowl was also sweet, crisp, and delicious. Unfortunately, the service was a different story. The young lady behind the counter wasn't very welcoming, and we felt a little rushed while ordering. I just wish the customer service had been as good as the ice cream. I guess you can't always have the best of both worlds, but the ice cream itself was definitely worth trying! read more

Got a scoop of toasted coconut, which seemed like way more than just one scoop, which is exactly what I was looking for! It was definitely filling with the amount of ice cream. However, we paid $18 for two one-scoop ice creams, which felt pretty ridiculous, even though the ice cream was really good. The place was clean inside, and the service was good. We even got to try some fudge, which was a nice little bonus! read more

Quality/Quantity - Toffee Apple - The apple did NOT taste as fresh and crisp as it should have been. The skin was soggy, it was a struggle eating. The rest of the apple was okay, but we could have more toffee. Other options are: "hand paddled Mackinac Island Fudge, Hand-Crafted Chocolates and 28 flavors of our Original Recipe Ice Cream." Atmosphere - Small format business. Good location for the traffic on a main street. Service - Okay. Price - $11, expensive especially for a not so fresh apple. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1947 with 160+ (franchise) locations. read more

Only the most amazing ice cream, unique flavors, or spectacular quality will get five stars. So I give Kilwins NAPERVILLE four. It's very good, not spectacular. Five star ice cream is worth up to one hour each way drive. So stop in but I wouldn't travel more than a 20 minutes out of the way. It's very expensive for the quality. Naperville portions are clearly marked and adequately generous. There's nothing wrong. I'm just really picky with ice cream with an extremely high bar. Service was fast and very kind. Their candy offerings are fun and the kids will enjoy watching them make caramel and fudge. Kilwins is probably equal to cold stone in terms of quality and entertainment value. Enjoy read more

Staple icecream spot in downtown Naperville! The flavors are always super tasty and they give pretty big portions. The staff is always super nice, but I will say it's on the pricey side. Definitely a must-buy if you wanna treat yourself read more

old-timey ice cream shop. They had blue moon! Extra star. The associate let us try samples (the eight-year-old had several) and it was a lovely experience. Only a bench outside and no seating inside, so eating was a bit of a challenge. read more

I believe $8.75 before taxes for a single scoop ice cream in a waffle cone is way too expensive for the size of scoop you get. Not worth the money absolutely. Though we are local, never again I am taking kids here. There are better places. read more

We got the Superman ice cream, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and a vanilla shake; all delicious and really yummy options to choose from

Great selection . Love having dinner at local restaurants then stopping at Kilwins Ice Cream for desert. Highly recommend

This is a cute ice cream and candy shop right in the heart of downtown. When we walked in we were greeted and met with the pleasant aroma of freshly made waffle cones. There is a dessert for everyone in this place! We wanted ice cream so we headed over to check out the varieties which were well stocked and plentiful. I opted for the Traverse City Cherry. It was loaded with the dark cherries of northern lower Michigan. yES yEs Yes YES yeS. The cone was fine. We had good service. She asked if we had any questions (we didn't) and gave us some chocolate samples. The price is fair for what you get. I would return to this location. read more

$13 milkshake plus tax & tip? Seriously? And the cup wasn't even completely full! Nope. Never again.

Long-awaited trip to Naperville Illinois to walk the boardwalk and the downtown. Great place to eat your way through all of the scrumptious treats including this awesome ice cream shop. Many selections of chocolates and ice cream's. The blueberry con was so smooth and creamy and very soft serve like. read more

Upon entering, I got a toothache from the smell alone. This confectioner sold a variety of sweets but the caramel Granny Smith apples immediately caught me eye. Sitting in a plastic case, these apples looked freshly made. I had to buy two caramel apples with nuts. I'm glad I did. One of the best tasting caramel apples I've ever had. The tart, crisp Granny Smith apple went well with the slightly sweet caramel. I will definitely be returning.......Soon!! read more

The ice cream here is so creamy and smooth. They have the typical options and a few unique ones. Very normal options like a cup, cone or waffle cone/bowl - even a waffle stick that looks fun for kids. Very small inside and no seating. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy outside on the sidewalks. There's lots of chocolate covered snacks and enormous caramel apples in lots of flavor options. Service was fine, nothing over the top or stood out. We got what we ordered and all was good. read more

Can NOT complain on my first visit I visited Chicago about a month ago and they were in phase 3 already and just peeked thru the window to see how I felt. Now I am out and about with my family. Four of us left satisfied even tho we only ordered 1 scoop. We could have shared two ice-cream between the four of us but since Covid has restricted us we spent $24 to satisfy our craving on a hot day. My Dad walked in and wanted an icecream cake. They had a few flavors in the freezer and I thought that was the perfect topping to this cool chocolate shop. Will return soon read more

The wife and I went again and got our own scoops. Still good, still expensive. I asked for toasted coconut, but ended up with chocolate toasted coconut; that's okay, since I liked it last time. My wife got classic chocolate, which had a nice malty taste. Their fudge looks very good, too, so I may have to try it out some time. I also noticed that they charge $7 for a milkshake. $7?! What do they put in there? I mean, it's a milkshake. It's milk and ice cream. I'm sure it's pretty good, but I don't know if it's $7 good. read more

Ice cream is decent but the manager was so rude and they were giving out very small scoops. When you are paying $10 for a cup of ice cream, you would think it would at least reach the top of the cup. When we have gone here before, the people were great and they had nice big scoops. I'm not sure what happened other than possibly summer hire or a new manager. The actual scooper was sweet but the manager was just awful. That will be my last visit of this summer for sure! read more

the people were very friendly, but the caramel corn just tasted like sugar on popcorn. no caramel flavor at all. I was disappointed.

First time trying this location and, I was fairly pleased for the most part. They have a nice variety of ice cream, and their cones/bowls etc. are prepared fresh which is always a plus. I tried the Strawberry Bon Bon's, and the cashew turtles which were pretty good as well. They're a little expensive for the pounds, vs. the size of the chocolate. The store is a little too crapped especially when it applies to social distancing. But, it was a nice little experience. read more

Tried Kilwins for the first time today and loved it! I will say we couldn't sample anything due to COVID (understandably) so we just winged it. The single scoop is HUGE, so I can't imagine getting more than that, but it was super tasty! The price was kind of high (about $14 with tax for two single scoops with a waffle cone) but overall really enjoyed it! I would definitely go back to try some of their chocolates. read more

Hey now just try the coconut ice cream. I'm not a huge fan of coconut, but it was so good I'm craving it again. The staff were so friendly, despite the fact that we went close to closing time. I'm still so surprised when someone says they've never tried Kilwins. I feel like the chain should be more well known in Illinois! This location is located right by the Naperville Riverwalk which makes it a hot spot for anyone who wants a sweet treat while roaming the river. They have a good selection of ice cream. Your basic flavors you'd see at most ice cream placeS and then a few fun and interesting ones. I saw a Naperville themed one while visiting yesterday. They also have a selection of beautiful candies and chocolate creations! So many pretty truffles. Carmel apples, fudge, it's got a lot here! Price point is comparable to most Naperville businesses in the area. read more

Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge - Happy customers! Superman and Blue moon ice cream! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

**not a post about the products** This post is about the employees working at the Downtown Naperville location. I have lived here all my life and frequent the down town area often. I was surprised to not have the same happy experience that I have known and to have expected. The first time I went into Kilwins was to make sure they had a product I was looking for for a gift. I popped in, was stared at by 3 employees, felt their conversation stopped by me stopping in and then continued once I was fully in the store. I walked around and found the product I was looking for. And then I left. NOT ONE SINGLE WORD WAS SAID TO ME. Not a "hello!"or a "Welcome!" or a "Can I help you with finding something?" So I thought, maybe it was a weird night. But then, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. So this can't be just an rarity, it must be the establishment. So with this being said, to the company Kilwins : find employees that represent your company and your mission. If your company is unwelcoming and rude, then keep doing what you're doing. But I have a feeling that a quick conversation with your employees on how to make the costumer feel welcomed, will go A LONG way! read more

got the pecan turtle nothing to write home about i personally think fannie may taste better and has more of buttery flavor and at $8 . for one turtle is kind of on the expensive side. not a fan read more

Make sure not to make candy while using the cash register... it's dirty!!! Ice cream was fine but seeing that makes me second guess

The most generous scoops, the nicest staff, and the BEST ice cream! This place is definitely a family favorite.

The S'mores flavor is outstanding! This is the best ice cream shop in downtown Naperville! My kids love the Superman flavor...always brightens their mood. Guests love this place! read more

I'll always be a life-long customer of Kilwins Naperville! The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and show great enthusiasm. I've never had a bad experience. The chocolate and ice cream are outstanding & nicely priced! The fudge is actually made in store by employees - if you're there at the right time, you can catch them making the fudge while shopping around! The sea-salt caramel is my favorite! Kilwins also does custom orders for birthdays, anniversaries etc. I had ordered special chocolate pretzel rods and chocolate covered Oreo's for a birthday party & they turned out great! I plan on doing another custom order around the holidays. Rachel, the owner, is always at the store. You might confuse her with a regular employee because she helps with all the scooping, chocolate making and check outs - she is very involved with the store and is hands on! You can tell it is a fun environment and everyone enjoys their job.The customer service is amazing and so friendly! read more

This is our favorite and I am so glad they opened one in Naperville. We would always go to Wheaton during weekends and summer to enjoy the ice cream. It's a little bit small compared to the Wheaton store but no complains, love Kilwins. Their location is close to Nando's peri-peri so after dinner dessert is just a few steps away! read more

Another downtown option for desserts (in this case, candies and a small range of ice cream flavors). Ice cream can be had in a waffle cone, cake cone or one size of cup. Friendly staff, fun variety of flavors, and nice location. I will be back and recommend this place. We took my son here after dinner on a family date night. He was walking up to the store telling me how he wanted blue ice cream. When we got there, they actually had blue ice cream! He got a small scoop of Blue Moon (it was slightly fruity and vanilla; but different from dreamsicle). I had a chocolate peanut butter. The one thing to think about here is that the store is small. Like my family of 3 plus a family of 5 ahead of us basically filled up the store. If you have a stroller with you and you can leave it outside the store, I recommend it. There are a lot of displays right at kid level and i watched a toddler wreck one. read more

My daughter loves this place. I'm not so crazy about the ice cream, and it's always crowded. I guess that's good for them.
