My wife and I had dinner down the street at the Cantina and stopped in for ice cream. The smell of waffle cones being made wafted onto bridge street catching my attention. We went in and waited in a long line to get ice cream. They sell an assortment of different chocolates, caramel apples and ice creams. It's a bit pricey costing almost $6 for a scoop of ice cream with a waffle cone but well worth it. I ordered mint chocolate chip ice cream and we strolled along the lakefront as a live band was playing in the park. read more

My favorites where Michigan Cherry or Lemon Sorbet. If you have to get ice cream anywhere in Charlevoix this is the place to go. Top notch service and ice cream. Me and my buddies went to the ice cream store after eating for some fun and some ice cream we expected to maybe pay four dollars we walked in the pricing was out of sight hidden in tiny font on the counter the employees were not at all knowledgeable and when we asked them about the pricing they wouldn't or couldn't tell us we eventually found out that one scoop of ice cream is eight dollars. Once you step a little bit past the fudge in the entry way, the whole building smells like a dirty public bathroom. They had many exotic flavors which I was interested to try but when I asked to sample they said no, how am I supposed to know what I want if I can't have a sample and enjoy my eight dollar ice cream. read more

Amazing ice cream. I love the lemon sorbet and the super man ice cream the whole store always smells awesome there waffle cones are awesome there is a park Right across the street so we always eat our ice cream there it's nicely decorated. To add to my good experiences even on very busy days the ice cream takes less than 1 min to be ready the fudge, chocolates and candy's are also amazing. Staff is friendly and patient. My husband and I were in Charlevoix yesterday and stopped for ice cream at Kilwin's. They were quite busy with lots of parents and their children. The ladies behind the counter were very patient and helpful. When our turn came, we ordered a scoop of toasted coconut (the lady said it was her favorite) and a waffle cone with chocolate ice cream. I almost got a slab of fudge but decided I didn't need that much sugar. Our ice cream was delicious. Almost went back for fudge......really good ice cream!!! read more

We love Kilwins! Have been to the Saugatuck location many times, and the Charlevoix store looks and smells just as amazing. The chocolate dipped Oreos are a favorite, and the peanut butter cups have the smoothest, richest peanut butter and chocolate-better than Justin's. Very friendly and helpful staff! read more

While their fudge isn't bad, it's not the draw for me. I love their candies and ice cream. The caramel they make is delicious, and the line of sea salt topped, chocolate covered caramels they have this year is amazing. Be prepared for a short wait on a busy day. Also be prepared for some delicious ice cream. We got the cookies and cream, Marsh-Mallow S'more and the banana cake or something like that.
