Their kilts looks fantastic on and seem reasonably priced. Sadly their customer service falls below even a mediocre standards. I e-mailed a complaint into Kilts4U to raise awareness of my concerns and give them an opportunity the explain themselves. Sadly they replied with a very dry statement which didn't address any of my concerns.
I had to explain both in store and on the phone on 3 separate occasions that I could not return the hire on the Monday before noon, but would be able to before close of business as my wedding was in Argyll. Each time they said this was no problem, but seemed to forget they said this and it's very irritating to repeat myself so many times. I didn't like the standard tie which came with the hire, but was offered a different tie to buy instead when I hired everything 2 months before the wedding. When they phoned a week prior to the wedding to confirm my order it was clear nothing had been done about the tie order. After multiple phone calls over several days we lost faith in Kilts4U and had to source a tie elsewhere last minute (exactly how hard is it for a company to buy a tie??).
When returning the kilt, the person serving us repeatedly left to answer the phone. Though I understand that the store has an obligation to answer calls from customers too, I found it rude and unprofessional to continually leave a customer the way they did.
We found the staff couldn't answer basic questions without consulting a manager, and as there never seemed to be a manager in store it was impossible to get a straight answer from anyone.
Ultimately I really regret going with Kilts4U - the extra stress and aggravation micro-managing the company is never needed by and bride or groom before their big day and I'd trade cheaper prices for a quality service any day of the week. An awful company and definitely one to avoid! read more
