When we arrived, there was a large group before us so there was wait to order our food. Props to the two employees who handled the crowd well and provided friendly services. So you order your food by picking what you want and they prepare it right in front of you - very similar to a very popular sandwich chain. I ordered the super bowl which came with chips. It's like a burrito salad minus the tortilla. The food tasted good and refreshing after a hike. Since my friend is semi-vegetarian, he got the fish tacos. He said it was good. The place is clean and spacious. Lots of parking which is nice.
Best dang tacos on the island! There's something special about the beef choice tho. When I lived on the Big Island, that was my go to when the taco craving hit, and fast forward ten years later, I realized they had a location here on Oahu. I got the 3 taco lunch special that comes with a drink for $18.99 and she got the Longboard burrito, beef choice, which was also very delicious. Their in house habanero has a really nice kick too. Good amount of free parking if not crowded and the restaurant was very clean and spacious. They were super friendly and quick which is always the best combination. So if ever you're on the North Shore side of the island, pay them a visit! It's even worth the trip of you're not!
Tried this place for the first time. It's a casual place to get a quick bite. They have veggie options. I ordered the salad bowl (tortilla less burrito) which came with rice, choice of beans, and veggies. They put some chips on top. The salad itself was light in flavor, but not too filling and pricey for the amount provided. I also ordered a side of chips and salsa. The thick chips were not my preference.
After passing it earlier, we stopped in for an early dinner after the food truck we were going to closed before dinner. We were greet with warm smiles and helpful workers. The food was amazing. We all had different dishes and all of them were very good. The chicken and hard shell tacos were amazing. So fresh and clean. You can't go wrong here!
Killer location... You can find them right at the start of Haleiwa Town right beside the gas station and with a huge parking lot getting in and out will always be a struggle here but parking here does make it easier whichever direction you're heading. Walking in there was no one there did give me a bit of red flag though lunch was very much needed and I just didn't want to fight the trucks and outdoor heat and the roomy inside with lots of tables made it the right choice. Menu offering are pretty simple and though all items are put together to order it's all already made just assembled as the staff asked what items each was okay with me as I ordered their taco salad as I didn't feel like a hand held item and did prefer a bowl which they didn't have so this was my only option. It was nice as he asked about each item though I wished that I knew some of the option like protein choices which was an option as it was a Veggie at $13.49 but he asked which meat which I chose but instead I "added" so it came out more. Salad was meh as there was a lot of red cabbage which I really didn't like the crispy flour bowl was oily and just places right on top was horrible and just looked stale and no I didn't even gave it a try as I probably would've loved some crispy tortilla chips instead. Not the greatest and it shows sadly but a nice and clean restaurant with lots of seating is a nice chill option with nice decor. Thank you!
Lunch in Haleiwa, O'ahu, Hawaii... Located at the beginning of Haleiwa Town, I saw the sign for "KillerTacos" and said the name aloud to Irene who was driving. She said she hadn't been there before... Well, it's time to give them a try! Parking was free and easy. We walked into the spacious restaurant where a friendly, efficient worker did everything. The guy took our orders and put our meals together! Wow! I almost got the Taco Deal, but decided to skip the beverage and get a Fish taco (soft tortilla) and Pork taco (hard shell). I ate the Pork taco first and was pleasantly surprised! The shredded pork was juicy and tasty! The crunchy shell was wonderful! Too bad they salsa was a bit spicy for me - even though the worker said it was "mild". Shucks... I have low tolerance for heat. The Fish Taco started out great until I hit the salsa. Arg! I powered through it since the battered fish was moist and delicious! We sat in the attached dining area which was quiet and calm. It was a little shaded and seemed more private so we could enjoy a nice chat! I'd go back for more tacos!
They call it Killer Tacos. The only thing slain here was my appetite. Imagine a tortilla cold, limp, straight from some soulless factory shelf, folded around lifeless fillings, as if the mere geometry of a taco could trick the senses into submission. No char, no heat, no dignity. A corpse of flour pretending to be a canvas. The chicken whispered of flavor, but only like a ghost haunting the room, faint and meaningless. The ground beef? A pale echo of what meat should be, a soldier stripped of his fire and left to march without purpose. Guacamole so banal, so offensively standard, it might as well have been commissary-issued. This is not Mexico, not even its shadow. It is a masquerade; a sad performance staged for tourists who wouldn't know whether to laugh, cry, or demand their money back. If I brought a Mexican friend here, he'd go from insult to fury to sorrow, watching his culture reduced to this wet paper imitation. And therein lies the true crime: not poison, not disaster, mediocrity. Food should ignite, seduce, strike. Instead, Killer Tacos offers you a flavorless sigh, wrapped in aluminum foil, and dares to call it passion. 1.5 out of 5 stars. Because apathy is worse than badness and it lingers, it mocks, it makes you wish you had eaten nothing at all.
You MUST stop! Great selection of tacos, quesadillas, and burritos! Chicken quesadilla was cheesy, flavorful, and served with a side of chips and delicious salsa. Pork burrito was well proportioned with tender pork, beans, rice, and cheese. Service was excellent. Friendly staff and greatly appreciated our visit after the disastrous flooding. Come support this business. You won't be disappointed!
I've been coming to Killer Tacos for over a decade. I always get the longboard burrito on a spinach wrap, add both beans, and everything else that comes on it. It's absolutely DELICIOUS every time! The food comes out huge and hot temperature wise and costs $16.50. It's a must go!

This place was great! We had this as a last meal while on vacation in Oahu and it did not disappoint. We ordered the chicken longboard burrito and pork tacos. Name is accurate because they were killer! The owner Chris was very kind and provided great service and recommendations. It was quick to get the food and definitely a great spot! Will be visiting again on the next visit! Also the merch was great and they had a great selection! read more

Called ahead to get a to-go order in so we wouldn't have to wait too long. Ordered the Barnyard burrito and a quesadilla without jalapeños since it was for my daughter. Wanted to get some salsa and chips but the lady said the burrito came with chips. Ok if you just want chips no dip but I do love myself some dip. Got in and grabbed a few drinks from the cooler (they also offer a soda machine for fresh drinks with ice). Waited for two parties to go through before they were able to ring me up. They take Apple Pay but you still have to touch the pad to add tip and sign, not so contactless. The burrito was nice and huge, my husband couldn't finish it. While it wasn't wrapped very tightly, the burrito tasted pretty darn good! The quesadilla was as expected just thought it might come with sour cream and salsa at least but sadly nothing else besides cheese and tortilla. They have a sit down inside and outside for those wanting to eat in. We just decided to go to a park instead. read more

We went here because Giovanni's Truck was closed. Shrimp was good and must try the hot sauces if you like spicy. I don't believe in hard shell tacos but if that's your prerogative.... read more

I wish I had better things to say about Killer Tacos. The positives- it's right at the beginning of town and has its own parking lot. You can get in, grab lunch, get out, and take the back roads to the beach in less time than it would take you to get to the marketplace to wait in line for a parking spot. The neutrals- the food was inexpensive in comparison to many other options in Haleiwa. Plenty of vegetarian items. Live music from time to time. The negatives- live music is loud in a small space. The food is bland, as is the decor. My chips were unsalted, and the salsa was really cold- making a startling contrast to the hot rice and beans. I wouldn't recommend Killer Tacos to someone looking for a magical Haleiwa experience, but I can see it's useful nature for a quick and reasonably priced meal. read more
North Shore adventures usually mean garlic shrimp for me. You have to admit...that it's probably for you too! My dad wanted to try something else during our adventure. I was a bit hesitant at first but once I saw the Yelp page for Killer Tacos I was excited! We went early and arrived a tiny bit after they opened. The staff was super friendly! I got the super bowl (aka a deconstructed taco minus the shell). I personally love bowls because they're less messy. There's a good chance that I'm not eating burritos correctly but oh well! Overall, it was ok. It came with a scoop of rice, pork, lettuce, guac, cheese, beans, salsa, and sour cream. I wish there was a little more spice and more in the bowl. My dad had a longboard burrito. The bugga was FAT! I'm not sure longboard is the right word! My mouth was open with surprise when I saw them making it. I instantly regretted not getting a burrito. Next time If you're in the area and want something other than garlic shrimp, check them out! read more

My first time here and it was pretty good. The place is clean and the girls gave great service. Tacos are excellent and the taco salad was good. The salsa however tasted canned or bottled. Guacamole is fresh. Please support our local business owners. Been wanting to give this place a try for years. I'm glad I did. read more

It has been quite a while since we have come to killer tacos and my husband is a vegetarian so he was craving Mexican food while we were on that side when I tell you there was absolutely no flavor to any of the food that we ate besides the salsa and sour cream it was truly awful. My husband got the veggie burrito, and it literally tasted like a tortilla salsa. I got the Super Bowl with the chicken , I found myself sad that I didn't get at least five things of salsa to drench everything in .The rice was flavored beans were flavored plate lettuce, and it wasn't an overall good experience Husband said he was OK with the quesadilla, but you really can't go wrong with cheese in a tortilla. I also don't know if you can see it, but they were so generous. We have us about five tortilla chips, I recommend going to one of the food trucks. We just decided we would give it another shot and highly regretted our decision. Only reason I am giving two stars is because the customer service was OK and the food was fast. It's a very good location with parking, which makes it more convenient to grab, but genuinely wouldn't . read more
Killer Tacos has been my favorite fish taco spot for years. I remember frequenting the Aiea spot when it was still in business. I am a fan of deep fried fish tacos in a crispy taco shell and Killer Tacos was my favorite. Since I can only get them in Haleiwa, I haven't had one for years. I love having their combination of white sauce and salsa on my tacos. So now, I finally came back with my hopes high for some great fish tacos that I remember loving. My wife ordered a beef burrito plate and I had 2 crispy shell fish tacos. My wife's burrito was very good because the beef was seasoned well and had a deep rich flavor to it. My tacos, on the other hand, was good but not as good as I remembered. I really can't figure out why it isn't as good as before, but all I know is that something changed and I no longer crave them. I would still come back though, you get a good meal at a decent price. read more

All I have to say is, Oh Em Gee! It's been days later and I'm still dreaming about the taco I had! It was seriously THAT good! I had the longboard burrito with my choice of meat being spicy ground beef and I loved it! I was skeptical at first cause it was just under $10 and some places don't make it feel like a $10 burrito but this place seriously made it feel like a $16 burrito! It was huge and packed with so much goodness it was hard for the guy to close it but he made it happen! He was not shame with the filling and everything tasted so well. I was thinking I needed sauce, but the meat was flavored so well that I didn't. You can also choose from roasted chicken and I think fish but I'm happy with my selection. The guys working, especially the one helping us was bomb dot com! People came in waves, but they're so good about getting people in and out without missing customer service or quality. I'm seriously so stoked about this place! Forget waiting in line at Giovanni's foreverrrrr when going to the North Shore. This place has its own parking and lots of seating inside and even clean bathrooms. Oh, there's even some seating outside if you prefer. I'm surprised this place doesn't have better ratings BUT my only thumbs down would be the ac. There's like a back portion of seating with two ac units and a ceiling fan or two but they weren't on. So it was a little warm but there's also ac and a ceiling fan in the front portion that seemed to be enough for me. Ok, go people! Taste the goodness! I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I have always liked this place. Its just a simple concept but somehow works great for after any northshore adventure. Today we volunteered at the farm up the street and surprisingly this place didnt have a long line. The shortboard burrito is enough to fill any appetite. The longboard you probably need a nap if you finish it. Anyway..its been in its location for years. Need a burrito fix. This place is it. read more

The customer service us AWESOME!!! They had no problem altering the burrito for me. I got the longboard burrito with spicy ground beef. No rice and no beans. The burrito was okay, tasted like burritos made at home. The spicy beef tasted like it was made with the packets you buy from the store. The ratio is where it all went wrong. There was a bunch of meat and cheese, but not much if anything else. I thought maybe if I keep eating, I might get to the guacamole or sour cream but nope. It was like a pound of meat and cheese, a tsp of guac and sour cream, and some lettuce. I had to drown my burrito with the red sauce to get through it. All in all, maybe they could make it better id consider coming back? Only cause they were SUPER nice! But the taste factor was meh! read more

I got the longboard burrito. It tasted good! Was it life changing. Definitely not. Ask for the special white sauce they put on the fish taco! Pairs nicely. The only down side is that they are skimpy with the sour cream and guac. I tasted the guac and sour cream on my last three bites. They literally put a smidge of both. It was a burrito with potential; just poorly executed. Would I come back; probably not. Should you try it at least once, yeah why not! read more

Just about ready to leave Haleiwa and we noticed this taco place right on the edge of town next to a gas station, its tacos so of course we had to stop. I didn't spend too much time checking out their menu because Alaskan cod taco caught my eye right away. It has fried cod, cheese, shredded cabbage, salsa and their spicy cream sauce ( it wasn't crazy spicy, easy tolerable). I ordered two :D. It also came with some chips and salsa on the side. My family ended up ordering the cod tacos lunch plate that comes with 2 tacos, a side of tropical or spanish rice, black or refried beans, chips and salsa. Unfortunately, the cod tacos were a bit too spicey for my grandma so they kindly remade it upon request without the sauce. Parking was easy and right at the front of the restaurant, very convenient. My only complaint is that the tacos weren't as warm as I was expecting them to be. Other than that it was very good, I would stop by again. read more
The portions were good and the service was excellent. Price was quite affordable and the food hit the spot. Taco salad was really big and filling, so were the burritos. Large clean dining space and easy parking. Definitely give this place a try. read more

Hands down best tacos I've had on island. My husband and I went here twice in a day. We decided to try it on our way to Sunset Beach and was not disappointed. We tried varieties of tacos, crunchy/soft, shrimp/pork/chicken and added a burrito. Our favorite was the shrimp taco, it had fresh pineapples and a kick of spice. The flavors were amazing, only wished for more shrimp. And the burrito was pretty massive, it took a while for my husband to finish it. The parking lot is small but we got there early and were the only people at the restaurant. Inside the restaurant was clean and chill. I like the long booth section against the wall. Also the bathroom was clean and big. We definitely enjoyed eating here and are currently planning our next trip to the North Shore so that we can stop by for those killer shrimp tacos. Yum! read more

Huh, not bad at all. Cheap burritos/tacos/taco salads with pretty good flavor and decent service. Can't complain! The chicken on top of the taco salad I recently had was on the drier side. But it was filling, as were the burritos I had in the past. This will always be my alternative if I'm feeling frugal and don't wanna splurge on the nearby Surfin Salsa. read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant but when we walked in at lunch we were the only customers... they have a selection of tacos, burritos, and nachos that you order at the counter. I had fish and my husband had beef and pork. Then we ordered some of the loaded nachos. It was apparent that we had never ordered here but the server didn't mention that we would also get chips and salsa as a side with our tacos - we were swimming in chips. The food was okay, it was about the quality of a good cafeteria but the produce didn't seem fresh and she microwaved some of our food right in front of us. When all was said and done we had spent around $40 and we weren't really satisfied. read more

Service with a frown. Saw this place off the highway and thought it looked fun. The employees couldn't be more unfriendly and had a poor attitude. The food however was mediocre at best. Not terrible and not awful. Gave it 3 starts because it was clean, the prices weren't bad, there was parking and seating inside and out. Oh and the water cups are literally mini Dixie cups. read more
