The technician, Mike, was outstanding as he recommended that I sit down with him to watch the inspection of the fireplace and explained in detail the images as they crossed the screen. Mike also inspected the chimney on the roof and the vent for the oil-based furnace in the basement. Mike provided me a complete report with pictures, and he went over his recommendations. We booked it and from beginning to end, it was smooth sailing with them. They consistently told me what was going on, where there technicians were and how much longer the work would be, each day. We had several different crews at different stages in the process and each and every one was great! They showed up on time, text to let us know they were coming, set up protective plastic sheets in the house, wore boot covers while in the house and worked hard each day. Execution of the agreed upon scope of work: 3 of 5. Scope of work included the install of "Full Cover Flat Lid Cap." To date, majority of the scope of work is complete with the exception of installing the cap. Satisfied with the workmanship done so far. The cap hasn't been installed & company is still waiting for delivery. 7 Months into this project when the cap dimensions were taken & I have to arrange for a 2nd install date. Company Warranty Policy: 1 of 5. In order for the company to honor any warranty re-work, the customer has to buy into annual inspections. Jason at J&J answered the phone and scheduled an appointment. He and his wife came out and inspected our 2 chimneys. Photos from inside the wood stove chimney showed a large build up of creosote partially obstructing the chimney. this is likely why the smoke had been blowing back into the room. It showed me that the prior chimney repair company had done a poor job of cleaning our chimney. J&J chimney removed the blockage, put in a steel liner, did repairs on the other 2 chimneys, and did so for a better price than i had been quoted before. they brought a vacuum and cleaned up after themselves. i am pleased with their work and will use them again and again, and recommend them to others. it's hard to find people these days who do a good job, are honest, on time, do what they say, and answer the phone.
