    Molly Baby Ahles

After the disappointing last few months of Aloha Vet. Center and it's inability to meet the needs of my pet I sought out a new Veterinarian for Molly Baby my 15 year old Lhasa Apso. These folks actually charge a very fair price for med's that Molly must take daily. More than half the amount less than her previous Clinic. They even filled her meds that day while I waited. I've never had a Vet. Clinic do that before. That's all for now as I'm looking forward to working with these folks at this Clinic to provide the best treatment for my little baby.

We have been bringing our pups here for several years - they come at least once a year for their annual check - up. For the most part, the staff is warm, kind, and will engage with you in meaningful ways about your pets care. Dr's bedside manner can be - what is the word - more stern? - than some others, but at the same time you can tell that she really cares about your babies and giving them the treatment that they need, even if that means sending them somewhere else. For example, when our Sophie had hip problems and then bone cancer, we were referred to another Dr. in Hilo who specializes in these issues. But, when we lost the battle to save Sophie, it was Dr. V and K Vet that made a donation to Rainbow Friends in her name, which was very touching. And, when there is something that they can take care of in house, they will do it as soon as possible - for example, about a month ago Dr. V was able to perform same day surgery to remove a tumor on one of our other baby's foot, which had grown rather quickly but was benign (thank goodness). The nurses will even call you after hours if needed to follow up on questions that you had - as others have said, they are very busy during the day. They are also booked a few months in advance - so it's best to make appointments early. They do have ways of working in emergency care, but I would definitely call ahead.

the best staff, who truly treat your pet as if their own!

The whole staff is wonderful with my pup. Dr.S really cares about my fur baby. Exams are thorough and she gives options.

I called Kilauea Vet and they seemed genuinely concerned but they were unable to find an appoint for today or tomorrow.

They constantly try to add meds that your pet doesn't need, they don't answer the phone, they don't refil your pets meds on-time and the receptionist is rude. Ever since the girl with braces left, this place has gone downhill. Update: We did express our concerns through voicemail when you closed early, didn't notify us and did not fill our pups critical prescription before closing for the weekend. You never responded to the voicemail or called me back. Clearly the issues happened AFTER that visit. Thank you for taking zero accountability.

Definitely the worst vet I have ever been to. If you love your baby, companion, or best friend do NOT come here. Forgot to add this - To make matters worse, at the end of the second visit the receptionist told me my dog's vaccines were expired, even though she had literally just been vaccinated on July 31, 2025. When I pointed this out, they brushed it off and said the records "must not have been updated." This IS sloppy record-keeping and is dangerous and unacceptable!!! This was only my second visit today and it will be our last because of the horrible care and treatment my dog received. Our first appointment earlier this month was already unsettling. I didn't like how it went but I told myself at least I finally got her to the vet after searching for years. I thought maybe we could establish care here. I was wrong. During the first visit with Dr. Ross, communication was poor. I had to ask for results after expensive tests and an x-ray, which should have been reviewed with me automatically. I also found her dismissive. She did not use her transcribing device consistently which made communication strained, and it left me questioning how thorough her care really was. Today's follow-up was even worse. The vet tech assistant Alirah attempted to draw blood but failed, leaving the needle in my dog while tapping it repeatedly. It was painful to watch, and I had to tell her to stop. Then they tried to take my dog out of the room to try again without me. I refused. I said the doctor needed to do it. Then Dr. Ross came in, did not really acknowledge me that much or apologize, and still failed at first. In total my dog was poked 3 times before the blood was finally drawn. What made this experience even more unacceptable was that both the Dr. Ross and the vet tech assistant Alirah misgendered my dog. At first I let it slide, assuming the doctor misspoke, but when I went to get her medication and the vet tech assistant Alirah also misgendered her it was clear this was not a slip. It was carelessness and disrespect. To make matters worse, I was charged a $41 follow-up fee even though the doctor never examined my dog or had a real conversation with me. The bloodwork fee was separate, so I know the charge was just for "the visit." I questioned it, but the front desk staff stood by it stating that it meant Dr. Ross "reviewed the results". Another important point: when I spoke with Stephanie on the phone, I specifically asked for Dr. Ross's veterinary license number. She refused to provide it. I also asked for the name of the assistant who attempted to draw my dog's blood (Alirah), and she refused to give me that information as well. Their refusal to provide such basic, legally relevant information that I have every right to know speaks volumes about how this clinic operates. It demonstrates a clear lack of transparency, professionalism, and accountability. I left feeling sick and upset that I ever trusted this place with my dog. I regret giving them my time, my money, my energy, and most of all, access to her. This clinic is careless, unprofessional, and unsafe. I hope this place closes down if they can't do better/ provide good care to their patients. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! SMH I WISH I CHECKED THESE YELP REVIEWS!!! I WOULD HAVE NEVER GONE

She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. The first few visits, the staff were friendly and accommodating given the circumstances. Once the vet was out on maternity leave, the staff became negligent and unsympathetic. I have been providing palliative care and had to wait three days for my pup's meds and had to call back to check on the status as my dog is now severely suffering and the meds are the only way for me to help mitigate the pain. A few days ago, I called as it is now time to consider putting her down. I called asking if anyone can come out and did not receive a call back. I called a few days later upset and distraught and complained about not receiving a call back and the staff member who answered the phone refused to schedule an appointment and told me to go to a clinic. She did not even specify which one or where. The lack of compassion and professional misconduct was overwhelming. If I ever adopt another dog, there is no way in hell I would ever bring my pet here. Strapped for cash, the cost of service is unwarranted for the poor quality of care received. Do not bring your pet here.

We just moved to hilo on Jan 4th and before we came here I put in multiple applications for 2 different puppies, on Friday I called this place to confirm that they still had puppies because we wanted to adopt one or two. Not ONCE did the lady on the phone advise that we weren't allowed to purchase 2 puppies at a time, nor did she mentioned before even brining a pet home the application has to be confirmed on their site (which I completed a couple weeks before we moved), plus it will take like 3 days before even bringing the puppy home. That aside, we walked in with our 2 boys excited to bring a puppy home, and when we went to the counter the lady out right said we won't be able to take a puppy today due the one million reasons that she mentioned which made no sense and made it seem like I had no Idea what liter syndrome meant. My sons were bent outta shape because of those words. FYI, next time, talk to me and not to everyone else in the room behind me. We purchased dogs from humane society countless years and to have to be turned down because we are not a right fit family for puppies is like a slap in the face especially when we bought our 2 puppies from this place at the same time. I feel this decision was more based on a personal choice on my response to the first lady I spoke to, instead of hearing what questions I had she kept telling me that we couldn't have two puppies due to litter syndrome. We understand littermate syndrome, but when you take correcrive actions and extensive training with your dogs, that won't happen as we do our own. Do we all really know their personalities? No, but as the owners, it's our due diligence to teach them right from wrong. Studies are saying "littermate syndrome" is not even a real thing. We label problems with two young dogs as "having Littermate Syndrome," because we absolve ourselves from the responsibility to fix problems that humans created and can't resolve. See, the problem isn't the dogs. The problem is peoples ability to address their individual needs. It's easier to label a syndrome than to just give more TLC and understand stand them. On that note, you sent me this email the day after saying I'm not a fit? So much for waiting 3 days and calling to see if we are a fit when we meet with the counselor. That is ok! I went to Rainbow friends animal sanctuary and we rehomed a dog, and someone just so happily allowed us to rehome their 2 puppies that were left at their front door This place is such a disappointment. Going forward, I will not recommend this place to anyone anymore. Even though my 2 other dogs came from here, and we love them dearly. This place will be the last on my list now, not #1 it took less then 24hrs for them to tell my family we are not a fit before even giving us the chance. The slogan should not be providing them a good home. The lady after us asked for 2 kittens, and you were gladly open to having her adopt them after she just mentioned her current cats' lack of health for many reasons that did not match up! Go figure! The care you give for cats is not the same as dogs? Why is that? Should we not give the animals all the same care, love, and treatment? Seems like it's a preference here and bad choices! I'm done venting, but if you are looking for dogs and puppies there are many other adoption places to go that will give you better service then this place its sad that I recommended this place to a bunch of families and they actually said they were turned down too and got their dogs else where. Please feel free to share your family requirements and what makes the best families for these animals? All these people are opening their homes, and you're denying it, but crying that you have no shelter space.......this could be one of the biggest reasons. Look where you lack the experience, which is assumptions and judgment!
