It tasted like it had been sitting in a display case for days * Chocolate cannoli - best pastry I received. Super good! * Lobster tail - hard and half filled with cream * Strawberry cream puff - pastry itself was stale, strawberries were good. * Eclair - texture was fine, but it didn't have much flavor It may have been that I ordered them early in the afternoon, but the stale pastries tasted like they'd been left out for days. If you do visit, I highly recommend ordering their cannolis.

The biggest positive for Connie's is that everything is consistent. I've ordered numerous cakes from her and it's been good every time. Also the taste is far better than the swill that you would get for a cake at Giant, Redners, or Weis. The only downside to the store is that there is no parking at all. There are only a couple of metered street spaces and once those are gone you are either parking a block or two away or need to go into a parking deck. Connie's is the perfect mix of taste and value.

It's as if I was a kid again eating an imaginary meal at a play set. But the meal is far from imaginary... With a limited menu that changes regularly, they prepare rich meals of both quality and quantity. I had a sausage and potato stuffed omelet with carmelized onions that was a very delicious monster. Quite often, home fries are either greasy, or over-cooked, or even over-seasoned, but these were perfect. It seemed as if they had just pulled the potatoes from the ground that morning. My girlfriend had the best, "meatiest" tomato soup I have ever tasted, and her gourmet grilled cheese blew my mind. (If I didn't love her so much, I would have stolen it from her!) For dessert, we had white-chocolate raspberry cookies that were yummy beyond reproach. (The cakes in the dessert display may bring people to tears.) The service was also wonderful and the coffee really hit the spot. Reservations recommended and there is parking in the rear of the establishment.

If you know me you know I loved baked goods and after hearing good things from friends of mine I…read moredecided to give Baked a try. So Baked is a small bakery located on Main St in Emmaus, they focus on dessert side of baking, mostly cookies, bars, scones and things like that. Everything is made in the shop. They also have gluten free items as well. You can even get a salad or Iced Coffee if you want to. The baked goods were good, nice and fresh. The lime coconut bar was great, the orange cranberry scone was very good, but I was let down by the peanut butter cookie sandwich, the filling was lacking flavor. The Iced coffee was also good, I like that the ice cubes were made with coffee. The service was good, she was friendly and answered our questions and gave us recommendations. The inside looks basic but gets the job done. This place is also cheaper than I expected with the boom in gourmet cookie places charging $5 a cookie, this place is a steal at less than half that for some stuff. Overall a very good local bakery to stop in when ever your looking for a sweet treat.

It was a piece of bacon! Thankfully I'm not a vegetarian, but maybe place the maple and maple bacon apart? My friend is a vegan and thankfully she didn't decide to try a maple one.
