I went to this Kids Footlocker in Queens Center mall to exchange a pair of sneakers my daughter got for her birthday. I had the gift receipt with me, so I went in and didn't take more than 5 minutes to pick out a pair of sneakers to exchange them for. The associate that got the shoes for me was very quick and polite but everything went downhill from there. I was handed off at check out to Ebony and my god she was a nightmare. I like to give people the benefits of the doubt, but she really did not give any wiggle room. First, she harassed me about the original receipt despite having the gift receipt in hand. I don't use the term harassed lightly. I cannot count how many times I had to explain that the person who gifted her the shoes did not live close by, the shoes were bought about a month ago and I couldn't guarantee the person still had it, and that since it was a gift I only had the gift receipt. Every explanation met a ruder response. She even told me I should go back to the original store to exchange the sneakers. This was all because according to Ebony, the gift receipt wouldn't pull up the original price that was paid. I ended up texting my friend to see the price and confirmed with her the price she paid, and they even had the sneakers in stock in the store. She told me in a very crude manner that she couldn't take my word for it, which I understood. She proceeded to rolling her eyes and with a scoff she said she guessed she would have to call the original store and confirm with them. Now, I understand this can be a nuisance, but why wasn't this offered when I originally said I couldn't get the original receipt? She huffed and puffed the entire time on the phone while I sat there waiting with my mother. My mother had noticed her attitude and even told me to speak to a manager, but I told her we all had bad days so I let her be. I didn't want to make a big deal, I just wanted to be in and out of the store. After the store confirmed the price with her, which was the same price I had told her and that the display shoe was labeled, she offensively told me that we weren't spending enough for the exchange. Now the difference was only $5, I wasn't planning to buy another pair of sneakers in order to exchange, so I started looking at socks, and even their sales rack. I was once again constantly asked if I was done and if I was ready. I didn't want to spend $20 on socks that I didn't need, but then my mother found a nice tee on the edge of a sales rack. It looked like it had been left there, but wasn't labeled as clearance and not sorted in the actual rack. My mother went up to Ebony and asked her the price of the shirt and in the most ill-mannered and discourteous way, she said "well where did you get it from?" I went up to explain that it was on the edge but again I got looked at with such hate and annoyance and asked again where we got it from. She asked me the same question in the same manner 3 times until I literally had to walk to the rack and pointed at its edge. At that point, not only was she rude to me but to my mother as well. I had had enough of the disrespect (no person should be spoken to in this manner) and calmly said that she did not have to speak to us in that manner, because no human being should be spoken to like that. She kept going on how she wasn't rude and I just said OK and she got mad and left the register and told her coworker, I'm not taking her you do it and walked away. I waited and the gentleman who completed the transaction was polite and quick. read more
