I've been to Eric's shoes several times with a friend and this time I'm coming to purchase. I needed boots , why? Lol, because of the snow and slush and I was late buying this year. This is an expensive place to shop but there are prices on n the low end. it's a comfort shoe place and if you want comfortable shoes, well you know, this is the place for it. I love to engage sales associate to see what level they are on. There's levels to sales and there's a developed skill for persuasion for closing a sales/getting a customer to buy or walk out empty handed or to make an actual purchase, one or more shoes. Sometimes it's the customer that knows whether they are buying or walking. Let me explain, briefly! A cordial greeting and offering assistance is key. You have to break the ice. I used to work for Bostonian/ Clark and Bakers Shoes. They had beautiful boots for women. Anyway- I greeted and broke the ice. The person said that they didn't have money to buy. Reading the potential customer - they were staring at the boots for about 5 minutes. I told her, it doesn't cost money to try on a pair of boots. Conclusion, she waked out, boots in hand. Commission sales mind you! On today 1/28/26 one sales rep greeted and broke the ice but did a relay to his associate. So I picked out the shoes that wanted to try. Levels - the customer comes in with one shoe in mind the sales rep should bring other styles close to desired shoe or another color. So I picked the shoes and made his job easy, very easy. One thing he did that I loved, he serviced me giving undivided attention and assisted me with putting on casual socks and help me put on the shoes. I had dress socks on and it gives a different fit. CONCLUSIONS-I walked out with multiple boots in hand. I basically sold myself the boots and scored $10 percent off. There are areas of improvements - if you greet the customer, seat the customer don't pass them off to someone else. Pro tip- aleays ask if there's a promotional sale. In my case. The promo was advertised. I'm a happy camper today willing to.... Inspire more, Yelp more! read more

This place is the best! They answered my call on a Monday when they were closed. They helped me cancel my original online order and place the order again so that it could be expedited overnight. They walked me through the process. They called me back to make sure I was able to place the order appropriately. And they made the overnight delivery, all on their day off. Rarely see service like that anymore. They were so understanding and accommodating. I live in Texas and wasn't able to get these shoes delivered to my rural area from anywhere else without it taking 7 to 10 business days. But this New York store came through for this Texas girl. You can not come to this store to purchase shoes and not feel that your in a five star shop. This place has every shoe you can think of. They also have a very wide range of prices, some inexpensive and some very expensive. A very wide variety. I usually go shoe shopping 2-3 times a year. When I see there newspaper coupon for [usually 10 off one pair and different amount for multiples] I take a ride down. It seems that everytime I come into the store their busy. That's a good thing. The sales people are usually handling multiple people and they do a very through job. They are always pleasant to work with. They are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Did my summer sandal shopping this week at this store and found the widest selection I could have hoped for. Andy, my salesperson, demonstrated the patience of a saint, as I don't have the easiest fit. So, it required his making many trips back and forth to the store room. Be aware that the store's return policy allows exchange or store credit, only, within two weeks of regular price purchases of shoes that are unworn and in resalable condition. I said thank you and I wanted to think about it. He told me that I was confused and wasted his time. This is obviously someone who should not be in sales. I have been scouring the internet for a pair of discontinued Hoka Arahi's. It took me weeks to find a site/store that had them in stock before finding Eric Comfort Shoes. Albeit I was sketched out by the negative/mixed reviews from both Yelp and Google, but it's a small business so I took a leap of faith-- GIRL. IamsogladIdid. Here's the thing: I knew EXACTLY what I was looking for (since I tried on the specific style in another mom&pop shop in town, they just didn't have the exact color&series I wanted). So here's how things went down: -I called in and asked if they had the shoe I wanted in stock in their store, the associate confirmed they had one left in my size (6.5D) -I said I wanted to place the order online, the associate told me it would be easier to continue the order through phone, but I didn't listen ‍ -Placed the order online, only to find out the next morning that the order was cancelled because it was sold out (I was heartbroken) -I decided to call again to ask why it was canceled when I confirmed they had one left in stock, and to see if there was an error -The associate informed me that their online orders are based solely on supplies in the warehouses. He confirmed he did have it still in the store and that I can place the order with him-- so I did (I was back to being a happy camper who felt like she just struck GOLD!) -BUT, I was still skeptical and tbh a bit worried about fraud since I'm allllll the way in Arizona and this is a small shop in NY. Unfortunately, I have trust issues with buying online but hey, it's not like I haven't had terrible experiences buying from Macy's or other big-name department stores just the same. So I tried to keep my faith in this small business. -I was, however, pretty adamant that I wanted confirmation of my shipment with a tracking number as soon as they send it out. The associate said he will call me as soon as they get it. Nice! -The next morning I received a call, and he gave me the tracking #, and said it should arrive within 4-6 business days. I was SO relieved I had some sort of physical confirmation to reduce my doubts. Well... lemme tell you. It arrived not 2 DAYS later. Again-- all the way from NY to AZ. (THANK YOU USPS!!) Do not deal with this company!! I ordered an item that their website clearly shows is in stock. 6 days later it still hadn't been shipped, so I called them. The employee who answered claimed they can't sell the one that's in stock because the manufacturer no longer makes it. The website doesn't say anywhere that it is out of stock or that they have to get it from the manufacturer. Also, they apparently weren't going bother to tell me that. The guy claimed he sent me an email a few days ago, but he obviously didn't, as, if he had, I would have gotten it. Incorrect info on their website, and they were appareantly just going to keep my money and never say a word to me. The idiot even tried to get me to order a different shoe that is not even the same style! Needless to say, I will not deal with this lousy company again. read more

Went to store to buy work shoes for son. Salesmen recommended 300 dollar shoes. Said they would last for years. Seven weeks later soles worn through. Went back spoke to manager. Abraham. He said he would call company with problem. After 3 days I had to call him. He said nothing thay can do about it that he called. Personal attention makes them stand out, especially when I had to return something and find a better solution. Their prices may be a bit high, but it's worth it for the service--with a smile!--that you get there. I was looking for shoes for my husband with velcro closings, rather than laces. This was my first time ordering from the store. I called the store in advance telling the exactly what shoe and size I will order. I asked them, if the shoes they are selling are brand new. The lady on the phone said "of course they are. We don't sell used shoes". I got the shoes for a birthday gift. However, when I open the box it was clear that the buckles were adjusted from the markings on the leather. Also, there were pieces of dried cut grass.. It almost felt like someone worn them in a field... The birthday date is too close to return or exchange. I don't have another gift and these were specifically requested from the birthday person. So I was forced to clean them and hope the person who received them does not notice the markings on the leather from the buckles in more than one (original spot). Such a disappointment! This was my first visit and very unlikely that I will return. Like a WuTang concert, there were a few salesmen around, but only two customers being attended to. Horrible experience. Did I just experience discrimination? This was my second time at the store. I was in the store for 30 minutes without a sales person attempting to assist me with my purchase. I found a shoe that I liked so I walked to the person at the cash register to assist me. Suddenly the sales person that repeatedly ignored me by passing me without asking if I was being helped, incepted me prior to reaching the person at the cash register and he asked can he help me. I told him EVERYDAY I am busy at work but I still provide customer service. I was in the store because I received an email about a sale. Called Eric shoes to see if they would alter price to some degree. No, this is what their supplier provides. Their policy: only will give store credit or exchange for two weeks. Disputed the policy and told them we would not shop there again. Management then agreed to give full refund as I was returning shoes the day of purchase. So disturbing: Inflated prices and so many individuals (including seniors and fixed incomes) with foot issues being misled. read more

He patiently provided us with many choices until we found exactly what we needed. A small shop like Eric's has what many larger store chains lack... true dedication, putting the customer first, personal attention and knowing their inventory inside and out.
