She was having significant tooth pain and needed attention. Unfortunately, we arrived about 10 minutes late because there was an accident on the way and some streets were closed. I understand offices have schedules and policies, and I respect that. However, I was disappointed with the way the situation was handled. We were told the doctor could not see my daughter because they were closing at 5 PM and there was not enough time, so we had to reschedule almost 3 weeks later. What bothered me most was the way we were spoken to at the front desk. I felt the interaction lacked compassion and understanding, especially considering my daughter was in pain and had already missed school that day. We have been patients at this office for many years because Dr. Kourtsounis ("Dr. K") has always been an excellent and caring doctor. There were a few more pages that wasn't online but it was on their high tech iPad and it was quick. We were escorted to one of the private rooms with the dental chair and Frozen was playing but it was on top facing down for anyone sitting in the chair to watch. Since my daughter was a toddler and only needed a cleaning we didn't get to watch the movie. We waited about 5 minutes for the dentist to actually come and see us which I wished was a little sooner because my daughter was getting restless and didn't want to stay on my lap on the dentist chair like they told us to do. The cleaning itself was quick and painless. My daughter was crying for a minute from not knowing what was going on but Dr. Kathy Kim did a great job calming her down with her low tone of voice and being gentle but efficient and quick. She told us exactly what we needed to know and asked if we had anymore questions but she answered everything already. Great pointers! Btw the parking lot was packed when we drove by but found plenty of street parking right outside. Way better than parking in the lot waiting for a spot. The staff there are wonderful, from the front desk to the dental assistants.
