The Magnatiles are helpfully sorted by color and shape in wooden bins. Kids can complete builds and challenges, and collect tokens to trade in for prizes. There were some pretty impressive structures in progress there. In addition to the main Magnatiles room, there is also a separate playroom with different activity stations and play/exploration areas, suited to younger kids. The recommended age range is 4-12, but my under-3 toddler had a great time as we play with Magnatiles at home and he loves them. He also spent some time in the playroom with the wooden train tracks and checking out various things to do. The admission charge for adults is slightly cheaper than the child pricing. A couple of parents - way more skilled and inventive than I - were building some pretty grand castles and towers as they waited while their kids played. The space is bright and clean, and the staff are very nice. For parents who don't wish to be "in the trenches" with their kids, there is a small cafe area with chairs and tables where they can hang out.

Obviously there was some hesitation with allowing our daughter to attend any camp this year, but the Breene family that runs the camp was amazing not only from a logistical point of view but also in providing a safe "normal" environment for kids to enjoy. We have joked (but not really joking) that other entities should take notes on not only how to do proper communication but then effectively implementing and providing an environment in which all participants could feel safe. If the Breene family can provide this type of atmosphere under the circumstances they faced this Summer, imagine the experience they can provide when, hopefully, things are a bit more normal next Summer! Please consider Camp Riverbend for your child's next Summer camp experience.

The teachers and staff are nurturing and warm, yet also command a great deal of respect and order from the children. In my experience, all of the teachers have had a long tenure at TLC. The children are encouraged to learn, play, and engage all the senses. They can provide all meals and snacks, and the menu varies from day to day. They also open as early as 7 am and have extended hours up to 7 pm, where they feed your child dinner. And there is plenty of play area, both outside and inside on rainy days.
