This park has everything--brand new playground equipment for 2022, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, body-weight fitness equipment like parallel bars and a horizontal ladder, paved walking trails through the woods, a pond, and more! The free public bathrooms are inside a building so there's hot and cold running water, flush toilets, light and heat. There are also several water fountains with drinking water. In summer the local theater group offers Plays in the Park at the amphitheater. Most of the park is flat, accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, and easy to walk around. There are benches near the pond and a pavilion area with picnic tables. Lots of people bring their dogs here.

Also, the company closes at 6pm and if you return the equipment past 6pm then you will be charged of some penalty... Anyways, my group and I also kayaked 10 miles and it took approx. 3 hrs to be finished. The water in this river is very calm with some currents that may be able to help you out to gain speed from time to time. There is nothing dangerous at this river so you can easily enjoy and have an amazing time with your group. There is a cliff that you can climb almost at the end of the ride where you get to jump down into the water. The height can be approx. 10-15 feet high. The feeling that you get from jumping down can be amazing!

There were more kids than adults. These kids continously kept throwing themselves off the ledges and splashing the adults that were in the pool, including myself. I understand it's a pool, but 1) why are they jumping literally on me 2) I wear contacts and that chlorine water burns 3) the pool is large enough where you should NOT be splashing on people. 4) Its dangerous. The parents did not correct this behavior and neither did the lifeguards. The pool's lining was literally floating in the water and under my feet as I swam or walked in the water. This is unacceptable. I posted pics of the lifeguards picking this crap up. Very disappointed with my experience and I don't expect to return.

Which was great because the lot was very full. There are two walk up windows to check in. I walked up to the window and had to wait literally 1 min; the line was short and quick. They're talking to you threw a window and I am partially deaf, when I asked the girl to repeat the last thing she said she was so annoyed she spoke in short sentence like I was dumb. And just before she helped me there was another group of girls that seemed to be very annoyed with her because she refused to help them. Like I said there were two lines and they were in her line but she wanted to help the gentlemen infront of me in the other line. Idk why, he wasn't even paying attention and only needed to drop his car keys off. Whatever. We grabbed our life vests, got our overview of the river and quickly hopped on a very nice, 12 pax van. It was about a 10 min ride to the drop off area which wasn't bad. I really liked that the staff grabs your kayak and paddle and brings it to the water. All you have to do is sit down and paddle away. There is another company that shared the drop off area so just be aware that you don't get the wrong kayak lol The DR is beautiful. The water is so nice and clean. There are lots of places to stop off at to eat lunch or take a swim. There were a lot of people camping along the banks. So be mindful of that when pulling off to a beach. When we go to our pick up location it was just as smooth as our drop off spot. You just paddle to the beach and a staff grabs your kayak and pulls you in. You take your things and they take the kayak and paddle. At the top of the stairs you just walk to the right and the van is waiting to take you back. Overall, wonderful company to book a kayak or raft from to enjoy the beautiful river. In highly recommend and will rebook with them. I recommend wearing a hat and water shoes and bringing a cooler for drinks and snacks.

Head to the website, book the date & time you want and you're done. www.watergapadventure.com/river-trips A few things worth noting: They offer multiple trip lengths. The standard 4-, 6- and 10-mile trip (Smithfield to Portland) are all booked generically and then when you get there you tell them what you want to do. All pricing is the same which believe me compared to others companies, that's very different - in a good way. They do offer two other longer trips but those require calls to the main office I assume to assess river conditions; your own competency and shuttle availability. The main office in Delaware Water Gap is very easy to find and there was plenty of parking on a quiet post-Labor Day Monday. You check in, you're handed a laminated map, life jacket and given a brief route explanation and then you're off in the van. One problem arose and it was kind of a PIA but it was worked around. Most companies have different types/sizes/models of kayaks and quite often, will ask you what you prefer. Not here. When we left the office, the guy driving didn't say a word to me until we get to Smithfield Beach to unload. He had a few kayaks pre-loaded in the carrier but definitely did not look at them before we left. One of them had a broken foot pedal that he said couldn't be used, another was very much designed for a smaller individual (i.e. if you're taller and/or taller & larger it ain't happening safely) which only left two tandem models. Using a tandem as a single individual is not the end of the world but especially when the seats are still left in the two person configuration (i.e. one front and one back versus the rear one being placed more towards the middle), it's a PIA to maneuver the craft and you are paddling harder to get the job done compared to a single. The scenery along the route was decent. You could see a bit of the Shawnee Resort and Golf Course, an old stone bridge abutment in the middle of the river, under and along 80 and then when you get into the Water Gap itself with the high cliff sides. Very picturesque. Once you go under the old train viaduct in Portland, you give the office a call for the shuttle to meet you at the out point which is at the Portland Pedestrian Bridge. The whole experience was about four hours door to door to cover the ten miles on the water plus the shuttle to & from the pick up and drop off points. Lots of nice scenery, due to the low water level there wasn't much in the way of current except for the area around viaduqt in Portland and even that wasn't bad. I'm not a big fan of the equipment here but I wouldn't let that deter me from coming back in the future for one of their northern longer trips.

Campsite (3/5): These are a bit stacked on top of each other but our group had two next to each other so it didn't impact us too much. Ambiance (4/5): These campsites are right on the water which is absolutely stunning! You really feel like you're in nature, but there is a major road near the top campsites and even by the water you can hear road noise. There was a huge group at the top which partied into the night though we're up late anyhow and it was no issue for us. Consider earplugs if you're not like us. Bathrooms (4/5): These were relatively clean for a campground bathroom. Minus a star here because on the last day the women's room was out of order -- but I believe it was due to another guest, as a member of our party heard someone say "oh no it's not flushing!" TL;DR: Great for those late-into-the-night campers. If you stay here make sure you get a waterfront spot.

On the van trip to the put in the driver and the safety boater loudly disscussed payroll issues, lunch issues with the on site café and their co workers. These two were audiable to us sitting in the back of the van. Once we got to the Lehigh River, I had hoped the staff would be more professional. I was wrong. Their behavior got worse. The Trip Leader, a man named Jake, openly swore. The staff dissed the customers. I understand that their needs to be an evaluation before a river trip. This wasn't an evaluation of skills. The staff were making fun of the customers. The Lehigh River is a gem. Just find another company to explore it with.

The family ride was very easy and controllable with few places to get hungup ( rocks, trees or underpass) There are guides in front, back and throughout to keep everyone safe and moving along. Overall we had a really good time rafting, paddling and having water fights with other boaters and the pirates. Watershoes a must, bring water to drink and water guns or canons to defend yourself. The lunch was all you could eat- hot dogs, PBJ's, chips, salad and water or lemonade. Can't wait to try a more challenging adventure next time. Enjoy!

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The campsites are well-spaced, and each spot comes with a picnic table. The bathrooms were well-maintained and clean, and the water temperature was warm enough for a comfortable shower. The camp also has a small store with all the essentials, and there's a Walmart and McDonald's nearby for anything you may need beyond that. They keep the area tidy, with clean trash bins and bags provided, and the trash is picked up in the morning. The only downside was the lack of night patrol. There were several loud parties making it difficult to sleep, though I understand this is more of an issue with guests not being considerate. Additionally, the site next to ours had a notably loud snorer, which made things a bit more challenging. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend Kittatinny K-Camp.

Pocono/Delaware scenery is definitely 5 stars but it is not KC achievement. We have used KC for the last 20 years every year, and firsthand witnessed how it is going downhill. On the last trip, none of the canoes had working foot rests, which is a must have if you want to row correctly and not break your back. And that is where, Daniel and Chris came to the rescue - they dove into 2 trailers and found us 4 working boats. It is a good thing that it was a mid-week and they were able to provide such personal touch. Just sad when you see a company going downhill like that.
