There were a lot of things to touch and open -- good for the little kids, and the older kids will get more from reading through the exhibit signs. No food or drinks are allowed in the museum. However, there are a ton of picnic tables right outside so that could be a good place to enjoy a snack or lunch from home. There's also a short sensory walk through the woods (0.8 miles) that begins right outside the science center.

This place is a cute setup for kids to learn all sorts of things. It's part of a strip…read moremall....with a karate place on one side and a tennis place on the other. As soon you walk in, it's a modern kids setup with bright colors everywhere....the kids have a place to read, play with toys or shop for toys (which I try to refrain from my daughter to do). Behind the main lobby are two rooms...an art room and a music room. The main thing we go here is for Abrakadoodle - an art class for kids ages 18Months through grade 5. I wouldn't recommend sending your child to the art class unless the child is 2.5 years old. I say 2.5, not 2 as there is a difference in maturity level. Structure of the class - some small crafty project in the beginning like tracing using stencils or free form drawing and then they talk about the lesson... usually an artist say Monet or Andy Warhol and talk about artsy elements the artist use and then the students incorporate those artsy elements using the child's imagination. At the end of the class is an art show that gets the child to talk about their artwork or the teacher would ask what shapes you find in your artwork or what are your favorite parts of the project. The project is framed and a sticker that tells the artist and what the students learn. I usually date the artwork on the sticker to keep track all of my child's artwork. My daughter who is now 4 years old has been going to this art studio class since she was 2.5 years old. I'll like to contribute that the art class helped her write her name and other words by 3 years old. Not the neatest in handwriting but it sure gave her control of using a writing utensil and spelling words on paper. This class also provokes free spirited creative thinking. My daughter absolutely loves, I mean loves this class! she wakes up every morning and wants to go to this class. The teachers all have some kind of art degree and they are friendly with the kids. You can have any art major teacher but these teachers know how to interact with the kids. I found out that they teach art class in elementary school and does this on the side. Lisa, is the director of Creative Kids and she's great with the kids. I had an art party with them at our house when my daugher turned 3....it was nice that they could travel to your home and set up an art party or choose their location. You can choose from 900 art lessons...yes overwhelming but Lisa guided me through one for Siena, my daughter...we chose bubble art....where you paint on the bubble wrap and then flip it over white paper and it makes an imprint. This art class fits perfectly all ages as my daughter's b-day invited kids age 1 through 9. I highly recommend the Abrakadoodle class but the other classes, I'm not sure but they do offer Salta! Jump into Spanish, Little Maestros, and Stories in Motion (dance class).

They even put all the gifts in a bag so it was ready for us to take to the car! Our daughter had the time of her life, couldn't have asked for a better place to host a girls 6th birthday!

Price, took advantage of a summer special that was running. 20 bucks for an hour was perfect. Only gripe is the balls. Last 15 minutes we like to throw a bullpen, we only found one ball with good seams. But understandable to not have kids steal some balls. The instructor, Cesar, was very thorough in explaining how to go about painting the cats, down to the whiskers. Along with giving us tips on how to use the brush properly and teaching some painting techniques, he would also crack jokes and make conversation. Most importantly, he was patient with others who needed help with their cat's missing limbs. The setting was intimate. The room fits about 12-14 people and so Cesar was able to give enough attention to each painter. Overall, it was a friendly environment to meet new people, pick up a few painting techniques, and have fun while painting!
