Roasted Pork Sandwich

First time trying this sandwich, definitely would recommend. Been here before and very good vibe going on here with great service . Definitely will be back to try a new item in the future

Pot roast grilled cheese and sweet potato fries marshmallow and maple dipping sauce

Kid Rip's is a major asset to south jersey. The service is always super friendly and informative about the menu. The food has been fresh and delicious. They have talented twists on classic favorites. Like French toast marshmallow dip on the side of sweet potato fries and grilled cheese with 5 cheeses with sun dried tomato soup. Cotton candy and cannoli dip desserts. It's a bar atmosphere with a friendly neighborhood vibe .

Kid Rip's is a cozy spot where you seat yourself. The place is quite small, so if you're looking for quicker service, I'd recommend sitting at the bar. The bartender was incredibly nice and made a delicious Cosmo (my girlfriend loved it!), but she was clearly being pushed to her limits while a man who seemed to work there but wasn't really doing anything and just in the way, which was a bit off-putting. For our appetizer, we tried the avocado fries with a spicy sauce, and they were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the fried chicken fajita wrap with chips and enjoyed the peppers and onions in it. I went with the What Came 1st Fried Chicken Sandwich. It was delicious, and the fried egg had just the right amount of yolk without making a mess. The food was great, but the slow and somewhat odd service knocked it down a star for us. Overall, a good experience with tasty food--just be prepared for a bit of a wait.

Even the menus they give you are different from each other

Whats the step above "dive bar?? Because that's where Kid Rips lies. Some to like, most to not. I knew Kid Rips was over for me when I asked for a straw for my water, which tasted like leaded toilet water btw, and the waiter walked up, and inserted an unwrapped straw directly into my water. Just raw dogged a straw from his pocket or whereever, STRAIGHT into my beverage. The waiter was VERY nice otherwise, but him dropping a straw he fondled with his bare hands, directly into my drink was a bridge too far for me. The next knock on Kid Rips is that although the website SPECIFICALLY STATES that they have a kids menu, they do NOT infact, have a kids menu. In fact, the menu is a bit of a mess. Weird specials, the first like 4 pages of the menu are cocktails, then a history lesson about the bar, etc. One of the options is tacos, but on the menu, it comes in 3 options: pork, shrimp and "burnt turkey." But, on the OTHER menu they give you, it's "shrimp tempura, burnt turkey and cod fish." The Misses actually WANTED fish tacos, but got an enchilada wrap, when she couldn't crack the code of Kid Rips actually having "cod fish" tacos. The NEXT knock was that although they have a monday burger special of $2 off any burger, (except Bison burger), they infuriatingly upcharge to get fries instead of chips. Because there was no *censored* kids menu, LIKE IT IS POSTED ON THE DAMN WEBSITE, I had to upgrade to get fries for the little one. That burger by the way, was ordered medium, and came out within a hairs breadth of WELL DONE. The Misses remarked that the place was dirty, but I wouldn't go that far. It needed some more attention to the sweeping, but it looked clean overall. The food wasn't BAD, it's just not a place I'd be in any sort of rush to get back to. It's MUCH, MUCH more condusive to a night of watching the game at the bar, and I would probably prefer this to say a Millers, depending on how busy it gets, but anything other than that, I'm all the way out. Kind of surprised at the glowing reviews of this place, but I do see that most of them are pretty old. Maybe it's gone downhill.

My Joseph loves him some burgers, but never had been here. I hadn't thought about Kid Rip's in a while for some reason? On this particular Saturday afternoon (not prime time lunch or anything - 1:30 p.m. ish), the service was just terrible! Our server was friendly enough, but didn't apologize for the slow service, which annoyed me. As prior, the food was terrific - delicious mushroom burger and grilled cheese. I absolutely loved my (sprinkled with sugar) sweet potato fries (with sides of marshmallow dip and another brown? one). I asked for a spoon for my cup of tomato soup twice. Our server brought us AS WE WERE FINISHING OUR MEALS. It was cold at this point - just had one spoonful. She was MIA and acted like it was nothing. Her tip reflected this - sorry. If their food wasn't so good, I wouldn't return.

Chicken Avocado Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries, Marshmallow and Maple Syrup Sauce

Delicious bar-style restaurant with quick service and casual atmosphere! The sweet potato fries especially stood out due to their brown sugar and maple flavor, which I'm taking back home with me to north Jersey for my own home meals!

What Came 1st Sandwich Grilled chicken breast on toasted brioche bun melted American cheese, bacon, cherry pepper sage aioli fried egg

Went here with my son on a weeknight. Parking is pretty tight here. We got lucky and found a spot. This was our first time here. I had to try a burger, it was good. My son got the chicken sandwich which was grilled but he substituted for fried (which means they use homemade chicken fingers). The chicken sandwich was the best, very big chicken fingers. The fries were good but need to be a crispy if you ask me, they were soggy. The sauces they let us try with the fries were both good! I'd eat here again. Want to try more things!

French onion soup...which I was really looking forward to

Food was great but the service was horrible. Literally the worst bartender I ever had in my legal years of drinking.

This is not Delmonico's in Manhattan or even a fancy steakhouse. This is a kitschy throw back to a…read moredifferent era in South Jersey that really hits the mark for what it is trying to deliver, and does so with a panache that is hard to dislike. We went not expecting to like it, and goodness me the parking lot confirmed my fears of a huge Jersey institution. But then you walk in and the spot feels like Medieval times turned into a steakhouse. There are wonderfully kitschy decorations and some amazing charcoal ovens available for all to see. The service matches South Jersey, it's a vibe for sure, and it's caring and loving while lacking grace and professionalism. The salad bar feels the same way (everyone gets to go to the salad bar if you order something I think) and the caesar salad was just maybe the most mid caesar salad ever, but that's okay...you could add anything you wanted, and I added bacon! My manhattan came with a sidecar, which is atypical these days, though the sidecar was hard to pour in to the glass because it was just in a regular glass. The cocktails were great though. The prime rib was not that great, but the 2lb Tomahawk we got was amazing. I think every bite was flavorful, juicy, and fatty. I'll be back - this place embodies the land it sits on.

Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people. The food is good and the atmosphere did feel like it was from another time, but we had a good time, and it's nice to see a place like this still around.

Well, the "Irish Pub" you know from the Monopoly game is actually this real property, "The Irish Pub and Inn", here on St. James Place in Atlantic City. Also, the game's iconic red hotel design inspired the game's red hotels, making it a real-life landmark for Monopoly fans. During most of the year, this legendary, 24/7 pub is famous for its unique, memorabilia-filled atmosphere and historical ties to AC, the Monopoly game, prohibition, etc., attracting visitors who enjoy its authentic, home-style vibe. But during Christmas, its decorations are on a whole other level of amazingness.
