I'm rarely in the area so I quickly Yelped local coffee shops and chose Kickstart Cafe - and I am so glad I did! I ordered the Horchata iced with oat milk, while my sister ordered the Dirty Chai iced with oat milk. Both of our drinks were delicious, I actually enjoyed hers more than mine. I noticed customers walking in that the staff greeted by name - always a good sign. If I had more time I would have tried some food - it looked and smelled good!

Kickstart Cafe is a lovely little corner cafe with a local hometown feel. The staff are very friendly and happy to answer questions. There are plenty of non-dairy options available. We sat at the corner table near the window which was nice and sunny. There's also a counter that you can sit at. It was nice to see people doing the daily crossword and reading the newspaper while chatting with neighbors and the workers behind the counter. Drink was good and breakfast sandwich was good!

Kickstart Cafe in Shelton, CT is a warm and welcoming mom-and-pop gem where everyone feels like family--guests greet each other by name, and the vibe is full of heart. I started with their hazelnut cream & sugar coffee, perfectly smooth and comforting, then tried the honey bee cortado--espresso blended with steamed milk, honey, and vanilla--a sweet, rich delight. The egg white omelette, packed with fresh veggies, turkey slices, and melty Swiss cheese, was served hot and bursting with flavor. The roasted home potatoes? Golden, crispy, and absolutely to die for. Stephanie and her team were so kind and attentive--truly top-notch service that made the experience even better. A must-visit spot for a cozy, satisfying meal!

Kickstart Cafe is located in downtown Shelton and is a newly restaurant. It has been in the downtown area for over a year. No more than two years I believe. It is a nice little cafe with staff that are very friendly and pleasant. I wanted something healthy and I wanted an omelette but I didn't fell like cooking. I ordered the Omelette with Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Cheese, and Spinach. The Omelette was very delicious and the vegetables were really fresh. The vegetables had a great bite and the omelette was cooked perfectly. What I loved about it was the omelette and a bottle of water was only 8.00 which I wasn't expecting because food prices went up. The cafe was clean and organized and I think it's a great edition to the downtown area. I will definitely be back to try more of the breakfast menu and there lunch sandwiches.

What a wonderful addition to Shelton! Went here around lunchtime on a Sunday for some pick me up drinks. I myself, got a Iced Matcha Latte while my wife got a Mocha Joe iced latte. I couldn't but help notice some of the sandwiches and wraps people were eating, definitely caught my eye and I will have to check those out next. The Iced Matcha latte was perfect. I get mine with oat milk and a splash of honey. Very nicely sized portion for a large, fairly priced as well. Definitely enjoyed my drink, they do it just as good if not better than most coffee shops. My wife got the Mocha Joe which had some expresso, milk, and hot cocoa. She enjoyed her drink but did note she wished it featured more expresso as it leaned a little on the cocoa side, still she enjoyed her drink. They have a counter seating inside similar to a diner and a couple of tables near the window. I'm addition they have two tables outside which is a nice add during a beautiful day. Service was welcoming, we will be back!!

Wow! This place is so delicious We started off with both types of Mochas. One is a latte and the other one is called "Mocha Joe". The latte is milky with a hint of chocolate whereas the joe is richer with chocolate. Both are WONDERFUL. Got my usual SEC. The sandwich was so flavorful. I don't know what they put on that brioche bun but it tastes buttery and almost with a hint of garlic. Dude. 5 stars all day long without a doubt. It may have even beaten out my local cafe where I live. Total price for 2 mochas, SEC (double egg) and avocado toast with the chipotle drizzle was $22. Totally fair. Hell yes I'm coming back!

This is a cute little coffee shop. They have two long bar style counters along with a few tables. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and informative on their speciality coffees. I tried the honey bee cortado which is espresso, milk of choice, vanilla and honey. It was perfectly sweet. Need to try the food next time!

Obsessed with this adorable spot in downtown Shelton! I talked to the owner who was so nice, and they're super dog friendly so seeing all of the pups really brightened my day. It's one of those spots where almost everyone is a regular and they all know each other, so it felt very community oriented! My fiancé and I grabbed a sunny table near the window and had such a delicious breakfast of avocado toast and the George's sandwich with our coffees. I really liked the iced pumpkin one I had! I will definitely be keeping this spot in mind for future trips downtown!

This was my first time in and I definitely wish I tried it sooner! The space is so cute and welcoming, I especially loved the back wall with the greenery! The overnight oats and Butchy Boi sandwich were delicious. I ordered the Steph's Brew with the hazelnut roast, iced, and it was a great coffee! I was looking for a vegan breakfast spot, and this place did not disappoint! It's great for vegans and the people who love them because many items on their menu can be made both ways. I had the vegan breakfast wrap and a vegan peanut banana muffin. Both were delicious. Bonus points for the great service and super chill environment. The baristas were really personable, and many of the customers seemed to be regulars, which contributed to the friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town! read more

Great place that just opened here in downtown Shelton for breakfast and lunch. Went for lunch and they had a nice selection of sandwiches. Amazing and Friendly Place! The Owner, Stephanie, has created a friendly atmosphere and cafe experience like no other. She is here 6 days a week, serving customers, which demonstrates her commitment in making Kickstart a quality place to patron. If I can give Charlie and Amanda, (and Stephanie) 6 Stars for quality cooking I would. Julia, Casandra, and their resident ice hockey star Molly are great too! They have a great Menu but will customize when asked. My Favorite is the Mrs. 'T'. The Breakfast Sandwiches and Omelets are Terrific and on the healthy side! Their pastries are home made and fresh because they "fly off" the shelves. Their Coffees are great. They treat their customers like friends. They open at 6am too, which works perfect for my schedule! Immediately greeted by a friendly employee upon entering. We ordered a sandwich and two smoothies. Everything was made quickly even as the employees talked with their regular customers. The Mr T sandwich was amazing! Our smoothies were delicious as well. Our only suggestion is to get bigger straws for the smoothies! LOVED THIS PLACE!!! We found ourselves in Shelton and in need of lunch. This spot was such an amazing find! It was cozy and we picked a nice high top table by the front window. We ordered the Goddess Glow Smoothie, Mrs Ts Roast Beef Sandwich and a dairy/gluten free strawberry parfait. Having diet restrictions makes eating out hard so I can't tell you how much I enjoyed having options to pick from! The parfait was yummy! The smoothie was noted as one of the best my partner ever had and he also raved about his sandwich. The service was super friendly and prices were reasonable. I LOVE this place. The staff and the regular customers are the best. It's a small town breakfast café where you can sit down and have great coffee (their cold brew is the best in Shelton's downtown area), great food, and even better conversation. cute little shop downtown. super friendly staff as soon as you walk in. lots of vegan/vegetarian options as well. i had the mocha joe with almond milk and it was very good. my boyfriend had the new englander smoothie and it was super watered down and had little flavor. he also got a bacon egg and cheese on a brioche bun. the bacon wasnt crispy at all. but he said besides the bacon and smoothie he enjoyed the little shop. read more
