Very friendly people and good food. We came all the way from Orange County California. Ran into this place while walking around town.

This is a cute restaurant in Breckenridge and I'm happy we tried it. We were a party of 6 and our…read morewaitress was very nice and accommodating. I ordered the Oaxacan old fashioned and half pepperoni and half sausage with spinach and jalapeño peppers. The pizza was good and loved that I was able to get half toppings on one side and half toppings on the other side. My drink was also good, nice and strong, the way I like it.

The food here is really old, which sounds like a bad thing but in this case it's actually really good because it's sourdough that's been aged for nine years (kinda like how cheese does that I think). They kinda incorporate it into every single part of the meal, which is really cool. I mean if you have a theme stick to it, you go girl! It also kinda feels like a mining company store in here, which is really silly. I don't remember our servers name, half of my party think it's Eric and the other half think it's Evan, but either way he was mega awesome sauce (I just asked and his name is Torin, we were really far off sorry). The deserts were heavenly, the Tiramisu was beautiful and you can tell they made it in house. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE COOKIES!! Woah dude, they were crazy. I now can whole heartedly tell you I know what Kermit meant when he said "Wherever you find love, it feels like Christmas". Top 10 pizzas, beats NYC and puts Brooklyn in a head to head match. Even the guy on the bus from Chicago said it gave his local place back home a run for its money!

I would not have stayed in line except I'm vegan and didn't know the area to consider other…read moreoptions. The 3 workers were doing their best to manage the long line, but it was beyond them. The main reason was their credit card equipment crashed, several of us had to use the stores ATM (being charged a total of $6ish in fees) and get back in the slow line. The area behind the counter was pretty dirty, not messy, but dirty. While in line people watched flies land repeatedly on our food while it was being made. When someone made a comment to their friend, one of the employees (the one in charge) said, "flies are normal, just like in your own home." There is some truth to that; however, there was little effort to prevent the problem or wave them away. The biggest issue I had was that the employee who prepared my sandwich did not change his gloves enough. I watched as he repeatedly touched not sanitized or non-food prep equipment and went back to making sandwiches. When it was my turn, I asked him if he would please change his gloves; he did.

And in this case, the food turned out to be every but as good as the better Subways I have frequented. I was pleasantly surprised as the kids sat in the back of the SUV chomping away at subs and slurping through plastic straws. No complaints from them means no complaints from me. They even asked the next day if we were going to be driving back through Fairplay so we could stop in at Subway again. That added one star to what I would have offered. Still, I also took off one star off for the overall condition and cleanliness of the gas station - convenience store - Subway combo.
