As someone who appreciates a nice steak, I was satisfied with their ribeye and sirloin. Their mac and cheese, ribs, and wings are great too. OH and how can I forget their loaded mashed potatoes... We live in southern MD and traveled far from to dine here, and was not disappointed. (Tried two locations in VA) and would love to have them in MD. The food (seafood platter) was excellent. My bacon cheeseburger was to be cooked 'pink' but came out with no bacon and as black as a hockey puck. Sent it back and had it removed from our bill but heaven forbid the manager do their job and come over to find out what the problem was. Nothing from management. However the wings were pretty good, flatbread pizza was good but a little undercooked. And for the ribs, I was told they were good. Was just disappointed tonight in the food and management. I've not been impressed with the food here Buffalo Wild Wings has much better tasting food for a sports bar but I love the atmosphere on Sundays in their garage area it almost feel like you're at the game at times. The area is filled with cheering, laughter, trash talking and just good vibes! They also have heaters in this area for when it's cooler and the doors open and go up when it's warmer. The service is slow as hell in this area specifically not sure if they get overwhelmed or they soooo in tune with the customers who are regulars or there weekly but they tend to get off track and take forever to get a order in and to received your food! I watched them come to my table and take the guys order and they got food and rinks immediately as I waited. In fact the last time I went I ordered Buffalo Chicken dip and 45 mins later still was waiting when I asked the server/bartender where my food was she said let her check and then proceeded to bring me silverware and napkins which further let me know she hadn't even out the order in and she told me it woukd be out in a few. When the food came to the table it was the wrong order then the server asked me what did u order as if I didn't put my order with her so now ima waiting for the order to now be out in and be prepared and brought back out. Mind you I ordered chips & dip. The servers need to serve and they need bartenders who stay behind the bar. They also need runners to go between the inside and outside so it's not so much on the servers as this area gets really packed at times. My sister and nephew asked me to check out this place. As you walked in, the hostesses were very welcoming, behind them is the sports bar and left of that are booths. We order the pretzel sticks for appetizer which was served with a jalapeño cheese sauce. The bread was soft and delicious. The entrees were 1) Bacon jam burger 2) Fish N' Chips 3) Kids chicken tenders with mac n cheese. The burger was tender and juicy but the bacon jam was on the sweeter side for me. The fish n chips was also good but the fish was not crispy like most, it was a bit soggy. My nephew approves the mac n cheese and so did I. It was made at the right consistency and flavor. For dessert, a hot fudge cake with vanilla ice cream was order for dessert. That was good. The cake was moist and tasty. While out running Saturday errands, my wife and I stopped into Kickback Jack's for a late lunch. We had never been there before, and while searching for a place to eat, we just couldn't resist the name. Kickback Jacks has very much of a sports bar vibe. There are TV screens all around the dining room. There are also flags and pennants of popular mid-Atlantic colleges like UVA, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion and West Virginia Univ. There are also framed jerseys of local sports greats such as The Great 8, Art Monk, Cal Ripken, and Ray Lewis. They also had a jersey of Pittsburgh Penguins great Mario Lemieux which, myself being a lifelong Washington Capitals fan, made me frown. There is a main bar in the middle of the restaurant with dining on three sides. On one side there is an indoor-outdoor dining area with its own bar. This area is roofed, but has large windows that can slide open. We were greeted and seated by a friendly hostess. Our paid her first visit to our table quickly, and was equally as friendly. It being a late lunch, I started with an Ace Pineapple Cider, and my wife had a Mango Margarita. She reported that the Mango Margarita was excellent. We dispensed with an appetizer and went straight to ordering lunch. My wife had BBQ Ribs, with baked beans and Cole Slaw. The ribs were excellent, with a nice portion. They were cooked so the meat would fall off the bone. The BBQ sauce was good but not over-powering, as many rib-serving places tend to be. The baked beans included ground beef which was a surprise, but not an unwelcome one. There were very good. The Cole Slaw was decent. I had the Shroom and Swiss Burger, which was as you might expect a burger with sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. The burger patty itself was a large one, served nice and juicy. I ordered it Medium, and it came with just a hint of pink which was perfect. The bun eventually couldn't stand up to the juiciness of the burger, but a steak knife is served with the meal to address that contingency. The burger was served with French Fries, which were also very good. When my wife couldn't finish all of her ribs, a take-out box was quickly provided. The restrooms were also very clean. All in all it we were very pleased with Kickback Jacks, and will visit it again when we are in the south of Fredericksburg. read more

We've come here before and really liked the restaurant, but today the food and service were poor. The ribs were very overcooked and so tough to cut off the bones. We let the waitress know, and she just said she didn't eat ribs so she didn't know what they were supposed to look and taste like. She didn't offer any exchange, refund, or even to let the kitchen know, just walked away and brought the bill to us. Definitely not the ' fall off the bone ' ribs they advertise or I've had there before. Seemed like maybe they had cooked a bunch for their Monday special and they sat out too long before serving. I used to go to kickback jacks all the time with my family. Specifically for the bacon cheese fries that is our favorite. We've gotten it in the restaurant and we've gotten it to go many many times. the last time we went there I got bacon and cheese fries to go. They had it in the box with paper that stuck to the cheese fries so I had to throw half of it away. I made a to go order again a couple weeks later, and I asked them not to put the paper in the box. After I paid for my food then They told me due to policy they were not allowed to not put the paper in the box, therefore, my bacon cheese fries once again we're stuck to the paper!!. I had to sit there and try to rip the paper off and take half of my bacon cheese fries with it. It seems they are slowly going downhill. I don't know who's running it but it's common sense not to put paper in a hot box with cheese or it will stick to it and then to tell me that you can't put the paper in the box seems a little Ludacris to me!!!? I'm not asking for a hard thing here?? This is a local sports bar, so it's not a true 5*, but the current rating is way below the real experience. My buddies and I come here for Thursday night football and sit at the bar. We get great service, take advantage of affordable specials, and enjoy the array of TVs and a good-vibe experience. Their food is pretty good! I usually get the firecracker shrimp or boneless wings and I'm never disappointed. If you sit down at one of the tables away from the bar and expect a five star experience, why did you come to the spot? It's a local sports bar. Put Me In Coach... this is a great bar for catching up with your favorite sports team, but try not to get offended by the missing team flags in the rafters. Food is decent, typical bar food + ribs. I had the fish and chips made with flounder, and I really liked that they give a lot of pieces. The bartenders are fun, knowledgeable, with a heavy hand :). Although, you can easily get overstimulated because it is raining TV's here, but don't worry you won't miss a game play. Clean bathrooms, great beers on tap and all the games what more can you ask. While visiting in Fredericksburg this last past week we planned a night out for a small family anniversary gathering. We had hoped to be able to be seated outdoors however since it was a Friday night, we had to take the seating available. A couple of things that seemed surprising, first, all of the employees were wearing masks as we were upon entering. Secondly, surprising was the lack of any social distancing. Now, we knew going to a sports bar type restaurant on a Friday night would be busy but we were baffled over any sort of containment with so many people waiting, seated and being served. That said, I do have to give kudos to the employees at Kickback Jack's since they all were handling the crowd there extremely well. Though there was no social distancing at the tables or booths, everything was being run smoothly from what we could see. On to the appetizers, food and drink. What can I say except I am ready to make a return trip just for the food. Seriously, the chicken berry and walnut salad, the delicious pizzas, the wings and the prompt service and attention was beyond a reason to for sure go back there again and soon! We had dinner here on a weekday night, and it was surprisingly busy. The 25+ TVs combined with the cacophony of fellow patrons created an assault on the senses entirely unpleasant. Though they have a kid's menu and a giant space, the only spot that would fit our party of 8 (6 adults, 2 children) was a high top, but they only had a standard high chair, so the top of the toddler's head didn't even reach the table. The menu is the same as every other uninspired American chain with fried appetizers, pasta, pizza, steak, sandwiches, salad, and chicken wings. The latter are "award winning," but when I asked if I could get the grilled variety boneless, was informed they only offer the app version boneless, but it is also breaded and fried. I went with a mediocre salad. Our orders took over 30 minutes to arrive, though they nicely make a point of bringing the kid's out first. The food runners were totally clueless, and didn't know half of what they were bringing. My undressed Fresh Berries salad caused a whole kerfuffle as someone else at the table had one dressed, and they didn't know which was which. The salad was much too sweet anyways, even without dressing. The chicken was decent, though. Two people ordered salmon, and it was so stinky. Not fishy, but straight bad smelling. The Chicken Quesadilla salad was missing the quesadilla. I tried some fries, and they were the best of everything: flavorful with the skin on, well cooked and crispy. We shared two of the desserts: the brownie was rock hard, like, even a butter knife was insufficient to penetrate it entirely, and their caramel sauce was unpleasantly sweet and fake tasting. The chocolate bundt, though akin to boxed cake mix, was at least an improvement, and the pool of chocolate in the middle was especially yummy, however they use Hershey's syrup on both, and I am not a fan. Our server was nice, if near ingratiating and a tad disingenuous with her fawning compliments of every woman at the table. Prices are $10+ for most entrees. You would think, as a bar, that they would have a good beer selection, but our craft beer drinker was unimpressed by his options. They do offer different happy hour specials each night. Basically, Kickback Jacks is the epitome of everything I ahbor about both chains and sports bars. read more

Second time trying Kickback Jack's. I'm a member of an online foodie group that mentioned "$5 burger night" at Kickback Jack's and decided to stop by there after grocery shopping one afternoon to pick up lunch. I'd only been there one other time, and the experience left a lot to be desired. So I figured, hey...why not try them again. Besides, this would be a separate experience, going for the 'special' and getting takeout. To start, when I called in (from the parking lot since I was near), I asked the girl who answered the phone if the special is only for 'dine in' or is it for carryout as well. She said that the special runs all day on Tuesday's, and is for both dine in and carryout. Very good. I asked what burgers were available for the special (which isn't $5, but rather $5.99, but does include French fries). She noted that it was a single patty, with your choice of cheese, whatever toppings you'd like and fries. I said, "Okay, I'd like my burger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion (she asked if I wanted raw or sautéed, in which I replied 'raw') and pickles. She said the burgers generally come standard with mayo, and I requested the mayo be on the side. When she gave me my total, it was almost $8. I didn't get a chance to ask right away, so I gave it a minute, then went inside to pay and inquire about the total charge of my order. Initially, the hostess stated that it was 'tax'. Tax? Almost $2 in tax on an order for $5.99. She then looked over my ticket and said, "Oh and the pickles are 99 cents". 99 cents for a couple of pickle chips? I'm taking it home, I'll add pickles from my house. I asked her to take the pickles off. Mind you, it'd only been about 3 minutes since I'd ordered my food (the food they said would be available in 15 minutes). She tried to remove the pickles, then looked perplexed, and went back to the kitchen. Out comes the manager with a key. He looks at me, begrudgingly and states that the special is a special because it comes standard; you can't just order what you want on it. Hmm, okay, well I've never ordered the special, and this isn't what I was told. He said, "I'll take the pickles off 'this time'". It was an awkward conversation, and I felt like a criminal for requesting pickles on my burger. I told him that the girl who took my order never specified that there was an upcharge for pickles. She just asked me what I wanted on my burger. He said, "Well I had a talk with her too!". Great! Now we're both in trouble. It turns out, the pickles were not just a couple of pickle chips, but rather battered, deep fried pickle chips (which I wouldn't have wanted anyway). I tossed them when I got home with my burger, and added my own dill chips to the burger. Overall, the quality of the 'special' burger was just okay. The beef did have a pretty good flavor, but it wasn't anything mind blowing. It was worth $5.99, but not a penny more. The fries, just like the last time, were bad...limp, sad, sad fries...and not enough to even make a small McDonald's French fry. Nevertheless, this solidified my decision not to ever come back to Kickback Jack's. There are multiple burger specials available throughout Fredericksburg offering a better experience. read more

My spouse and I have been coming to kickbacks for two years, avidly sitting in the outside bar area. It is a great place to watch any sport event and receive continuous five star service from the outside bartenders. However, with recent change in management, there has been zero effort or support in fixing the outside AC/ fan unit. As a keen supporter of the outside bartenders and business, it's shocking to me management does not correct this issue. Needless to say, on any other day I would give kickbacks a five star rating! Yet, if the fan unit issue is not corrected employees will continue to suffer from the heat conditions and lack of sales, as consumers will drastically decrease. Fix the issue. read more

There wasn't any flavor and not enough alfredo, to be honest. The chicken was dry although I did love the shrimp. Portioning was great; I had enough to let my fiancé try some. I would recommend it if you like to add your own salt and pepper. Mozzarella Cheese sticks (website states $6.99 but was charged $7.29)- These were ok. You get 8 pieces with their marinara sauce. I wouldn't really recommend it. 10 Grilled Buffalo Garlic Wings (website states $9.59 but was charged $9.99)- These are AHHHMAZINGGG! These might be the best wings I've tried so far. Really flavorful and juicy. I find that I will crave these quite often actually. I will definitely be back just for the wings! I couldn't stop eating them! Obviously, I would HIGHLY recommend trying these wings! Overall, I will be revisiting specifically for their grilled wings.
