There's been a definite drop in quality since the pandemic. The quality, taste and order accuracy has suffered Last 2 orders were screwed up, the Tom Kha was dead bland... I order sweet and sour chicken for the wife which should have been no spice and always make a point to say..no spice out of habit--but it had added spice which made it inedible. The Pad-Sew-Ewe which was light spice was damn near inedible with heat. A month earlier we had ordered other items to try, requested some vegetables, specifically no "mushrooms" to be excluded and it was included. Sadly burned twice... In support of another reviewers comment, there isn't a lot of variety in the area...and the loss of this place as an option within a 40 minute drive is sad. This us a small place but for the size seems to turn over tables very quickly. They have 4 types of Duck on the menu and then of course your basic Tia dishes. Prices are less than $12 a person unless you order duck or the seafood combo meal. Duck is $14.95 and the seafood combo is $15.95. I have tried the yellow curry. It's one of my favorite dishes. I have also had the crispy duck with Tamarind sauce that's a 4 out of 5 stars. The soups are excellent. We go for the brown rice instead of the white rice and it's always cooked perfect. We have been here three times in just 2 weeks. For the North East Kingdom this is a nice Tia restaurant. If your going to be a group more than 5 I would call ahead. Thai food is one of our family favorite foods. Being in the NEK are of Vermont doesn't have a lot of ethnic options, but this restaurant rivals Thai restaurants I've had in both Boston and San Francisco. They're green chicken curry and yellow chicken curry are very good. read more

This place is truly a hidden gem in the middle of food with no spices. Still on my Vermont vacation we received a tip on the place. I was a little weary of the food in this state, but at this point, what did I have to lose? We tried the Laarb, this was not as good as the local place to my house but it wasn't bad. I did try the Red Curry with chicken, Extra spicy and it didn't disappoint! As far as Thai food goes this was on point! The flavor and consistency were great, as was the spice level. This is a small restaurant with tables pretty close together. It was hot outside when we visited, and it was also hot inside. Uncomfortable hot to the point I had to fan myself. That needs fixin! On the bright side, the service was excellent. Amareena was personable, prompt, very knowledgeable and gave solid recommendations. I ordered the steamed salmon and vegetables (snow peas, onion, peas, carrots, peppers, green beans, mushrooms) with a red curry sauce. The salmon was a good sized portion and cooked perfectly. The veges were fresh and nice and crunchy. The meal also came with Jasmine rice. I usually skip the rice but I devoured this. My spouse ordered the shrimp yellow curry. It came with decent sized shrimp with perfectly cooked potatoes and carrots. The dish had a subtle curry flavor and also came with the Jasmine rice. They have also been great with receipts and getting me what I need so I can file my expense reports. Tried this place for the first time after moving to the NE Kingdom area. I was really hopeful that it would be good considering the lack of ethnic food around this area. Within our first meal we pull out of the food, the red curry specifically, a piece of a steal wool!! So glad we saw it before we ate it! I'm sure this place has great food as well but for my experience I must say the Pek Nam I decided to order was straight trash. Probably should take it off their menu. If I were to compare the taste of it I'd say it was a mix between the smell of unwashed feet and lemon sauce. Yes the taste was that of Lemon Sauce and stank feet. They get 2 stars because of lefty. All I wanted to do when I got into St. J after 36 hours of travel nightmares was sit down at Elements with a dirty martini and a hanger steak. But no... My dad pushes the car down past Price Chopper and before I can yell at him for taking me all the way to Lyndonville, he pulls into a small Thai Restaurant. A Thai restaurant. In NE Vermont. WTF?!? But, I've travelled with my pops through Thailand as well as China and India, so I respect his taste. Honestly, I was more worried about early-onset senility. We sat down at a rather spartan table and I gave the menu a look. First good sign: a well-though out menu with variable spice levels, nice selection of authentic soups, creative (though not overly-Americanized) appetizers, and a red curry that I just had to try. My pops and I split a Sapporo tall-boy and waited for our steamed dumplings. Second good sign: even in Vermont, this Thai restaurant came prepared with the Rooster (Sriracha hot sauce). If I a'int sweating bullets, I'm not happy with my Thai feast. The dumplings were adequate. My dad's more health-conscious than I am, so we ordered steamed. I have a feeling that pan-fried woulda been better. The filling was certainly tasty. I ordered my curry 4 spicy stars (the highest ranking on the menu). I should gone back to the all-Thai kitchen staff (third good sign, btw) and told them to give me 6 star spicy. I had to dump in three or four tablespoons of squeeze-bottle heat, but by the time I was done with my alchemy, I ended up with a super-tasty, yet delicate dish. Awesome beef. Possibly the best Thai food I've ever had. I've eaten Thai from coast to coast, all over America, and this was just fantastic. I ordered a local beer and the steamed dumplings to start. The beer selection is decent (could be better), but the dumplings were quite good as an appetizer. Then I ordered the Pad See Ew (a noodle dish) for my entree, with chicken. I ordered the second highest spiciness level, and I must say that as someone who consumes spicy food often, this did not disappoint. It was quite spicy indeed. Lots of vegetables, which is a welcome departure from the commoner way this dish is cooked (slop some noodles, fish sauce and some sugar on a plate and call it a meal). I overheard other diners praising their dishes as well, so I don't think I was an anomaly. The staff were all very friendly also. Stopped by this restaurant for a quick dinner on our way towards Boston. Tired and weary, this was a pleasant surprise - a little Thai restaurant at a random location in Vermont. While this was not the best Thai food I've had, this is probably as good as it is going to get around the area. We ordered the crispy duck, the pad see ew and the panang curry. Of the three, the crispy duck was definitely the one worth getting. The skin was crispy, and the meat was tender and juicy. The sauce it was in was fantastic. As for the panang curry and pad see ew, they were relatively ordinary - essentially what you would get at an average Thai restaurant. Overall, this was a good experience. read more

My favorite thing to do here is order the drunken noodles (level 2 spicy is perfect for me, I order level 3 when I want to eat more slowly lol). They use thinner noodles than other places I've experienced and I'm into it. I would have to give this place a mixed review. I had high hopes for it because a local sent us there. When we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was friendly enough and we placed our order. It was lunchtime and they have a really reasonably priced lunch special. I ordered the Pad See Yeu and my husband got one of the curries. The soup that came with the special, to me, was awful, I wasn't even sure what it was. It was some sour liquid with these weird things floating around. I didn't finish it, but my husband liked it enough to eat mine. The spring rolls that we got were also kind of off, I ate them anyway, but it was not a pleasant experience. The worst part, though, was when our actual meal came. We had ordered our lunches with 2 stars because although we enjoy the heat, neither of us like when it's so spicy you can't taste the food. Well, that's how it came. I tried to plow through, but after 2 bites, I was literally choking. The waitress had disappeared, so I got up to find her to let her know that neither of us could eat our food it was so spicy. The first thing she said was, "oh, yeah, I forgot to warn you that it's very spicy". Ok, I can handle that. The dining room had started to fill up and she forgot to let us know. Then she said, "let me get you some bean sprouts, it's amazing how much better it will be with them on top". I told her I didn't like bean sprouts and I didn't want them, even if it would make it less spicy (though I don't see how that is possible). She kept insisting that sprouts were the answer, despite my repeating that I don't like mung sprouts. I went back to the table kind of confused and frustrated. She came over and asked if we wanted the check. By this point, I was so upset and I told her yes. She brought the check and started to give me a lecture on Thai food. THEN I got boiling mad. I explained to her as best I could that I have eaten Thai food all over the world including in Thailand, and that I had never had it that spicy. She disappeared after hemming and hawing. The saving grace, if you could call it that, was the owner came over and I asked her if we could please have another less spicy version of our lunch. She agreed and then came back and said that we now had the "non spicy" version, which is not really what we were going for, but she seemed concerned. We ate our food (which I would rate at a 3) and the waitress came over and said passive-aggressively, "is that MILD enough for you?" We didn't want it mild, we wanted it MEDIUM SPICY like we ordered it. Thankfully, we don't live anywhere near there. Should you try it? I will leave that up to you. As someone else mention the crispy duck is good. I like it, my friends love it. Everything I have had has been good to very good.
