The place appeared very clean even though it was half filled with other people. The empty tables were clean. When we returned home and removed the meals from the box, I was surprised to see the chicken legs were a nice size. I am use to seeing small pieces of meat. The mash potato's were soft with more gravy than I expected. Before they were just a hard lump with hardly spoonful of gravy. Itold my there were nice changes since they renovated the store. I thought maybe they got a different cook, because the meal was delicious. In summary, we both were pleased with our meal. We will return to this KFC again. My husband picked up the food so I don't know what the atmosphere or first hand service was like. He bought it home. They forgot my mashed potatoes so he gave me his. They were super watery. The tenders are visibly burnt and didn't have much sauce to them. The mac and cheese was the only good part of the meal. read more

This franchise has gone to the dogs. I love kfc and eaten there around the world so was excited to live nearby a kfc. NO! This restaurant is awful. 1st. Service. The experience with drive through first encountered a person who should not be on microphone 2nd. Service. The same person was non-personal and never mentioned the word 'thank you' at any point 3rd quality. The food was overcooked and taste like crap. This was worse than Bo jangles on a bad day. 4th price. 8 chicken tenders = 23 dollars. That is twenty three dollars for a crusty overcooked bad tasting piece of chicken If you don't know by now I won't eat at this restaurant again There are far too many great eating establishment on Richmond rd to go to this piss poor establishment. read more

RUDE service by a girl in the drive thru on 2/3/26 at 3:45pm!!! AWFUL service! We were waiting in the drive-through for 10 minutes and then when it was our turn to order she says in a rude attitude, "come inside!" and would not take our order. We were the last car in line. No explanation as to why so we just drove away and ended up buying fried chicken at Publix. Because of this experience, we will never go back here!! read more

Service was horrible. Waited 5 minutes for my order to be not taken. Then when I drove to the window and asked if she could take my order there, (I assumed the speaker was out of service), the cashier interrupted me and said "I just got in" then slammed the window door. She then kept her back turned while slamming her fist on the desk. There were two other workers arguing and pointing fingers at each other. I don't recommend any eat here, even just to get some food during a lunch break from work. Never again!!! read more

The manager is the rudest person I've encountered in a very long time. I placed my order online. When I got to the restaurant no one was in the drive thru line, so I pulled directly to the window. The manager informed me that I should have stopped at the drive thru and let them know I was there. Then she told me she could me drive around again or come inside to pick up my order. Another employee reached around her and handed me my order. I was checking my order to make sure it was correct before I pulled away, when she yelled at me to move my vehicle or she would get my license plate number and report me to the police. We love KFC, but we will never return to this restaurant. read more

This KFC is fixing itself to go out of business just like the other one in Williamsburg did unfortunately. It's not due to lack of interest. It's very poor operations. One day they tell you drive through only and the next inside only. It's sad to see another one run so poorly. read more

1/24/21: Was traveling to Richmond & stopped here for a quick bite. There wasn't many customers & very few cars in the parking lot. The parking lot was dark. They definitely didn't have all of their lights on. The drive thru order taker was short and kind of rude. I wanted to pull off, but I was starving. So, I took a chance. I ordered the #14 combo with a crispy breast and mashed potatoes. The chicken was very fresh. It made dealing with the rude cashier a better experience. :) I didn't want the mashed potatoes at the time, so I will eat them later. I'm not a fan of their biscuits either, so I will probably trash it along with the stale, pre-packaged cookie. The visit served its purpose & I was able to get back on the road to Richmond without hunger pangs. read more

We had a party of 5 and were seated within 15 minutes on a very busy Saturday night. The menu items selected ranged from shrimp and grits to filet mignon, haddock, chicken and salad. Our server, a very gracious And professional Monica delivered a basket of delicious rolls and corn bread. Our entrees arrived and we all dug in! Each entree was abundant and fabulous! Only one person got a box for leftovers. The rest of us devoured every savory morsel. The atmosphere was crowded but the walls are decorated with wonderful sayings. Our group was from other parts of the country and we were delighted we found this wonderful spot. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Williamsburg area. read more

KFC 1545 Richmond Rd. 23185. I ordered a classic sandwich with fries, cold slaw and honey mustard dressing. I ended up with the sandwich and slaw but mashed with gravy and no honey mustard. The sandwich was completely dry - just the bun and chicken. AND THE WOMAN AT THE WINDOW DROPPED MY COINS ON THE GROUND AND TOLD ME TO PICK THEM UP. I had no interaction with the woman other than to place my order. There was absolutely no reason for this. She was a young Black woman wearing a red sweatshirt. Wasn't sure how this experience would be reading the reviews but the Popeye's chicken across the street had 99.% negative whereas this one had glimmers of hope. I wasn't disappointed. Clean establishment. Especially the restrooms. The person who took my order was very friendly. Enjoyed chatting. I know a lot of fast food places get a bad reputation and saw this place had pretty bad reviews. Just wanted to share our experience. The wife was craving the new Taco Bell wings and of course ran out so she needed her chicken wing craving satisfied. We went to this KFC and ordered the hot wings and coleslaw. The wings were made to order and had to pull into the parking lot to wait which was expected. The person at the window, took our order and dropped off our food was really kind. She even apologized about our wait for the food. I didn't have any issues and the food was fresh and good. No complaints. Maybe they just have a change in workers but the ones we interacted with were awesome! read more

I happened to drive by this KFC one evening and was SHOCKED to see the word "Buffet" under the letters KFC in their sign. I had no idea that KFCs operated buffets. I made up my mind to try it for lunch the next day. The buffet price was slightly over $8, which while not that much for a meal, is admittedly more than the cost of any single meal off of the regular menu. Thus, you should really only opt for the buffet if you plan to eat your money's worth. The buffet contains original recipe chicken of all cuts, but nothing fancy like chicken strips (i.e. every chicken piece is bone-in). There are the standard sides, as well as a few extra ones thrown in, and there are a few desserts too. The buffet also comes with a beverage. Every time you go through the buffet counter, you must ask for a new plate from an employee. It's not much of a hassle though, so don't worry. I had a good first KFC buffet experience, and only wish there was one located closer to me in Richmond! read more

Went here at 9pm. They close at 10pm. I get to the speaker and the woman tells me, "sorry hunny we don't have any chicken right now all I have left is some sides and 2 chicken pot pies." Mind you, I had a starving teenager in the car who just played basketball all night and he wanted KFC for dinner. I mean, it's not that hard to throw on a few pieces into the little fry thingy is it? I'm so upset about it because not only did they turn us away but there was a line forming behind us who I'm sure wasn't there for 2 pot pies and some corn. Sounds like first world problems, I know but when you're that hungry and want a specific food from a specific place it makes you feel just a little but annoyed that they started their evening closeout an hour ahead of time. This is the absolute worst KFC franchise ever. Food is never ready and the drive through extends through the parking lot to create a traffic jam and a dangerous situation. Don't bother ordering on the mediocre app...the pick up time is a joke. We arrived at the KFC prompted by these app saying our food was ready only to be told our chicken would be at least another 20 minutes...it was more like 35. I'm sure we have better fried. Since moving into this area, we have fallen in love with the food here. They have the best crab cakes, the salmon is good and the bison burger too. The flavor in the crab chowder is good too, just a bit too much corn and potatoes for me. read more

I left right away and wanted to get her name but she didn't come near the window. This was at 9:51pm on 8/21/2020. Stay away!!!!! Fire that employee ASAP. Went for the buffet and found there to be no chicken out. Employees would put one piece of chicken out at a time for customers to fight over. only thing to eat on the buffet was side dishes and biscuits. The place was really filthy and looks like it hasn't been clean in years. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this place! read more

I don't usually write reviews but decided to since The food and service was amazing. I was shocked to see a low rating. Maybe the restaurant is under new management or something. The original breast, legs and wings were so tasty and moist. The best I've tasted in my life and I'm 44. The fries were very well seasoned and my boys asked for more after we ran out. We are from MD and we visit this area once a year. This KFC is a place we will visit every year! read more

I don't know why I expected this store to be clean because it never is when I go. Why do I keep coming back? I don't know. The floor was sticky, the tables were dirty and getting a clean plate for the buffet is a 10 minute wait. Kentucky Fried Chicken is based out of Louisville, KY, and they're famous for the Original Recipe that was thought up by Colonel Sanders. The menu offers chicken (buckets), chicken tenders, popcorn nuggets, sandwiches, sides (mashed potatoes, cole slaw, mac & cheese, wedges, etc.), 'Classics' (the Famous Bowl and the Pot Pie), and combinations/$5 deals. The hubs and I dig this particular location, as when we're in the Williamsburg area, we try to make an effort to stop by - the main reason being that they have a BUFFET - woot woot! The offerings are pretty good, as they have the Original Recipe chicken, the Extra Crispy, the Grilled (which is my favorite; I go for the wings!), all the sides (green beans, baked beans, coleslaw, mac n' cheese, corn, and mashed potatoes and gravy), and the chocolate cake pieces for dessert. You can stuff your face silly, and the staff here are pretty friendly. It definitely gets packed during the lunch rush, so keep that in mind. This KFC location is unique because they offer a buffet and I have never seen that at a KFC before. Since I'm a fan of KFC and buffets, I had to give this place a try. The buffet was good and reasonably priced at $8+. By the way, it does include a drink. They serve crispy and original recipe chicken, but no chicken tenders. They have all the normal sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, biscuits, salad, cole slaw and more. They also have desserts like bread pudding and cake. Altogether it wasn't bad for a KFC buffet. They make you get a new plate each time and are big on the no sharing/no carryout aspect. My only recommendation would be to check it out before you purchase. The place had plenty of seating, the tables were clean and I had no issues with the standard KFC decor. The bathrooms were well stocked and clean, which is always a nice thing when I go to a fast food place. Also there is plenty of space in the parking lot. The staff was just okay. They weren't overly friendly, but they weren't bad either. I don't have high expectations for fast food staff, but a smile and politeness are standards in my opinion. If I'm back in the area I wouldn't hesitate to try this place again because it's a great way to fill up for a decent price. *This business is gun carry friendly. read more

I never got a KFC buffet before, so I just stand by to have a buffet. But it was late and the buffet was closed when we arrived there. However, we told the waiter there that we drove from Maryland to have this buffet. They were so nice that they gave us the exemption. We had the buffet and it was really yummy and fresh. I've been to some really good KFCs and some really bad KFCs...and this is NOT one of the good ones.

I had never had KFC besides popcorn chicken a while back. They never seemed to give a good portion of food. So I decided to try the buffet. For 8.99 what can you expect? The Chicken all in all was okay some pieces were hot others were sort of lukewarm. The biscuits were amazing I just wish I was able to get my hands on more than just one. My issue was the buffet was poorly stocked as well. The staff didn't seem to care very much. You would have to keep reminding them to restock everything. The mashed potatoes and the gravy were decent but besides that the sides were pretty disappointing. I also wish they would put potato wedges on the buffet. One of the staff seemed pretty ticked off and the other one was decent though. I also wish they would just give you the sauces on the buffet rather than making you request them from the cashier every time you want some more. The desserts were also a disappointment they could've put something much better out than a bunch of puddings. I give a 3 star rating because while I was semi disappointed this is still way better than $5 for a breast, some potato wedges, a cookie, and a drink. read more
