06/25/21 - Chicken wars continue as the quest for the best $3.99 chicken sandwich continues. Popeyes started this and everyone jumped into the competition. Sorry to say KFC isn't even close. The sandwich lacked breading & was way too salty. I asked for a sandwich straight out of the fryer. What I got wasn't even hot even though they told me it came straight out of the fryer. I'm not sure what happened to KFC, but they are sadly lacking way behind. Popeyes & Burger Kings Chicken sandwiches are both outstanding. My nephew is comparing this to Roost, but you can't compare a $3.99 sandwich to one that costs $11.19. That's like comparing a Big Mac to Au Chavel like night and day. read more

Had two extra sides with the $5 fillup, which comes with: 2 pieces of chicken (leg and thigh), drink, biscuit, side, and cookie. Pretty good deal, right? Unfortunately the meal was regrettable. I don't have the highest standards for fast food, but the chicken was extra greasy, and my cole slaw was frozen. The cashier was super friendly, but I was slightly annoyed that the menu said $1 for extra side, but that means one extra side. I was charged regular price for the 2nd extra side. Not a big deal, but it would've been appreciated if the verbiage was clearly spelled out. I love love love the original recipe chicken at KFC. I don't get here enough and that has to be a good thing for my ever expanding COVID waistline. Yes I'm blaming covid and not my lack of any self control. I did do well here on this visit and instead of ordering a whole bucket of chicken (for leftovers you see?) I convinced my self to dial it down and get a Big Box Meal that had three pieces of that wonderful original chicken along with mashed potatoes, coleslaw and a surprising good biscuit. Like I said before, I usually order and eat just the chicken and nothing else but I do love they're mashed potatoes and the coleslaw was pretty good too. Other reviewers complain about waiting for chicken that has to be cooked and I get that, but for the flavor of the original good things comes to those that wait. The value here is zilch compared to a grocery store fried chicken (Jewel $6 for 8 pieces and good too) but the flavor of the original cannot be found anywhere else and with the coupons that show up in the mail box every now and then it makes it easier on the wallet. read more

I love fast food and I love fried chicken -- and I even like the spices and flavoring used in KFC's food. However, the cooking here is quite inconsistent in terms of food temperature, texture, and flavoring. Most of the problem here stems from the chicken not being very hot and crispy when I order from here (like it's been cooked and then placed under a heat lamp to keep warm). The experience I typically look for when going for fried chicken is biting into a crispy, crunchy batter which is barely cool enough not to burn my lips with a bite. Then experiencing a juicy and still steaming hot tender mouthful of delicious chicken meat. At this location, I feel like I'm just hoping to be lucky and run across a freshly fried batch of chicken. With spicy options like the zinger sandwich, I'm underwhelmed by how mild the spice is. If I wasn't told that it is supposed to be a spicy item, I might not ever recognize it as such. The sides can also be hit and miss. While the mashed potatoes are always an addictive mixture of fluffy potatoes and salty gravy, the biscuit is fluffy but bland (almost completely dependent on potatoes and gravy to provide any flavor). The potato wedges are typically a bit soggy rather than super crispy and the chocolate chip cookie is sweet and soft - but lacks any complexity. Overall, the I feel the execution of food temperature / texture could be better at this location and that the food could use more of the secret mix of herbs and spices that help distinguish it from other fried chicken options out there. read more

This place is one of the best dine in resto that I had ever gone to! Their place is so uniquely great. I first came here yesterday and I can definitely say that I would like to come back again. They have such great service. Their staff are friendly, kind, professional, accommodating, cooperative, and patient which is a good thing since I would always ask their opinion. also, they would talk to you properly and help you with their menu and even regarding about the place. I ordered their Mango brisk tea, Chicken nuggets, Grilled chicken, and mash potatoes. Definitely recommending those. The look of their KFC is neat as well, I came from the Philippines and it looks quite homey to be honest. Missed this restaurant. Ordering was a pain, the male kid taking my order was more interested in goofing off with his female coworker, instead of asking what sides I wanted he put in fries, and coleslaw. We finally got on the same page, or so I thought. How do you pack an order but somehow not pack the CHICKEN? Kentucky Fried...CHICKEN! I didn't order the lousy fries that the employee put in the box instead of the five chicken tenders. I also didn't get the additional biscuit I ordered and paid for. A call to the restaurant promised they would make it right on my next visit, uh I need dinner tonight. When I drove back, Joe the manager was very apologetic, and assured me he'd still take care of me on a future visit. One star because too many things went wrong on this visit to warrant anything higher. Feels weird to write a review for a fast-food joint, but hey, what the hell. Was looking for something quick and easy, but didn't want the usual burger, so we ended up here! Although we ate inside, there IS a drive-thru. This location is a KFC and Taco Bell combined. We ate KFC. Food was great! This was like my 3rd time here in the past 6 years, and I've always been satisfied. There have been other KFC locations (Palatine, and even Vernon Hills) that I haven't been satisfied with, so it's a pleasant surprise to walk away happy. My only complaint is that the tables were all kinda messy, sticky, crumby. Needed some serious cleaning. Other than that - I do give this place a thumbs-up!! Just tried their new chicken tenders with their new sauce. It was alright. A good effort, but frankly, not quite up to snuff with Chick Fil A. The tenders were long and skinny so not too much substantial meat. This also made the breading a bit of an overkill. The commercials really drew me in, good job to the boys in marketing! Easy to order online, went to the drive thru, told them my name, drove around, my order was on a tray with my name on a sticker. I brought the food home and it was so hot and so good. The prices have gone up a little since the virus began but that's typical. Oh man the Colonel is doing Nashville Hot Chicken??? I'm pinching myself. I'm very pleased to report it is DANG good!! Got just the right amount of hot and a hint of brown sugar.
