My wife and I had a craving for KFC coleslaw to go with our waaayy better fried chicken from Neiman's up the road. BIG MISTAKE. While the slaw was still good, this place is a total disaster. I decided to go inside instead of the drive through. SECOND BIG MISTAKE. I literally waited for 15 minutes watching 3 employees wander aimlessly in the back listening to the blaring R&B being piped in while the ONE employee was working the drive through. Nobody greeted me, nobody said we'll be right with you, even though 2 of them made glaring eye contact with me. Had my wife not gone through a particularly rough day, I would've left far sooner. Finally the one working "team member" raised a "one minute" finger to me as she dashed by. One of the young men handled cash with his gloved hand. Nice. Eventually a somewhat older woman came to the register to take my order and when I asked if she was the manager (yes) and why there was such inexcusable service, without apology for my wait told me they were in the middle of a cash exchange which was the reason for the delay. The manager is totally rude and I believe it's because of race. She actually told me to go to another store (Popeyes) and wouldn't give me my order after waiting a half hour. This store has been the worst in the history of fast food since its opening probably 30 years ago. I recommend you go to Kroger as their chicken is delicious and only $8 prox. We have been to this KFC twice to get the Tuesday bucket special. Both times at 5 PM they had no original recipe and only extra crispy and nothing was in the fryer. This place has terrible service and when I tried calling the store to talk to the manager I was hung up on twice. The food is okay here, but the service is terrible. I ordered two breasts and got two backs. There was no Original, only extra crispy, available. The speaker for the drive through barely works and with only myself in the drive through I still had to wait before they took my order. I wish I could say this experience was the exception, but it definitely isn't. The thing is, if you read other KFC reviews you find they all seem to be consistently negative. I tried to go inside to order and eat but the doors were locked at 3 PM. The drive-thru was busy. I ordered the 12 piece chicken dinner. Honestly, I don't think the chicken I received was fresh. When I ate it (Original Recipe) it was very dry and the skin was hard. I also ordered coleslaw as one of my sides but I think it is spoiled because it had a sour taste. Everything I asked for was included but the food was not fresh. I also feel the service through the drive-thru could have been better - I felt being a customer was inconveniencing the employee - not a welcome atmosphere. Lastly, I tried to call the restaurant to share my experience to the manager but no one would answer the phone. The previous 2 visits have been similar to this. This KFC seems to give me older expensive chicken half the time I order it. I often get the $20 fill up and say..... Please make sure it's not old food. This last time it was the manager that packed my order. She assured me the food wouldn't be old. I get home and we start eating and the chicken is dry and stringy. That's not fresh! Why call and complain? I just will have a fifty percent chance at getting more old chicken. Why is it I can always get good fresh fried chicken at Green Apple in Waterford or Buscemi's in Waterford? Absolutely the work KFC experience I've ever had. Upon ordering at the drive thru, the "employee" failed to ask basic questions such as drink choice, side choice, and choice of dipping sauce. One we paid, it took about 5 minutes to receive our drinks and almost 20 minutes to receive our food. The reason for the long wait was to allow time for the biscuits to finishing cooking. An item which is on almost every customers order should never be something customers need to wait on. I definitely will not be going back to this location. Decided to give it another try at this location. Arrived to the drive-thru at approx. 11:08 am. The sign posted on the speaker stated that they opened at 11:00. While pulling up, I saw an employee at the back door smoking a cigarette and then went inside. There was only one car in front of me and this person left after about 10 minutes. I pulled up to the speaker and waited a few minutes. I then drove around to the window and lobby area but did not see anyone inside. I then drove back to the drive-thru and attempted to talk with someone. After about five minutes, I went to the back door and knocked. An employee rudely yelled "who is it?" The employee then came to the door and asked what I wanted. I asked if they were open. The employee stated yes. I stated that it was almost 11:30 and I still was not attended to. I then pointed out that the sign stated that the business was open at 11:00. The employee then stated that they had to open a little late today. I asked him how much longer and he stated 11:30. He then went inside. I went back to my vehicle and waited another five minutes. I then called the business and nobody answered. At this point, the car behind me wanted to leave so I had to leave as well since I did not know what time I would actually be served. read more

I haven't been to a KFC in years but seeing a lot of their commercials made want to get a chicken sandwich. First, the drive thru experience was bad. Employee couldn't communicate that well or answer any questions about peanut allergy for my son. When we got our order the fries where cold and tasted like fish. Not sure if they fry the fries in same fryer as fish. I don't even know if they sell fish so that makes me even more concerned. The chicken sandwich bun was very cold and the chicken was 85% batter and very little chicken. My son and I just felt disgusting trying to eat the meal. Not sure why KFC is spending money on advertising when their product/experience is bad. Maybe this particular store is just bad. I'm sure it all begins with hiring the right employees. Management needs to rethink what they are doing. I don't think I would ever try a KFC again after this experience. read more

Awful service. It's been bad since it was an A&W/KFC split. I always avoid this restaurant because of that. Today I decided to try to give them another chance. I stood at the counter for five minutes. Nobody even said hello at the counter. So I left. The food smelled great though. I have a feeling that this restaurant is chronically understaffed. I don't know why I keep trying. The service here is terrible--three customers walked out while I was waiting to order because the kid working the register was also filling orders. They need at least two more people on duty during the dinner shift, and this is sadly the norm not an exception. The manager was on her cell phone the entire time we were there. Worst experience! I couldn't hear the guy through the speaker due to background noise and I wear hearing aids, so I let the guy know after attempting to place my order. He was rude when I said it. I pulled up to the window and he already had food prepared even though it wasn't clear what I ordered because I could not hear him at the speaker. I tried to clarify with the guy but he continues to get repeat the order back wrong. His manager stepped in and got it clarified, or so we thought. The original guy hands me one bag and we wait for second bag. He comes back to the window looking at me like he doesn't know why I'm still there. He starts to argue that he gave me everything. He finally talks to his manager who gets the second bag to us. No receipt with my meal either. And no extra slaw that I ordered. We should have gone to Wendy's! read more

I would not recommend the KFC on Dixie Hwy in Waterford MI for any catering needs. I tried to place a large order in advance (feeding over 100 people) and was told by the manager I had to place it online. I placed multiple large orders for pick up starting at 10:45am. When I arrived at the restaurant for my 1st of 4 pick ups, I was informed they don't open until 11 (website said 10:30) and the manager said she didn't have any record of my order, but reluctantly said they could have it ready by 11:30. In the meantime I received an email time stamped at 10:15am my order couldn't be fulfilled. At 11:15 the manager informed me my order had been canceled and she was under no obligation to fill my order. Instead of trying to rectify an unpleasant situation and redo my order, the manager refused to help me. After complaining to corporate, I was offered a $10 gift card for my inconvenience. What an insult to offer $10 for screwing up an order over $500. read more

This KFC is the worse. This review is 2 years in the making so take it to heart. The service is absolutely the lowest score I could ever give. 1 star is a complement. Cleanliness is even less than that. My wife called me at noon saying she wanted KFC. I begged her to let me pick up something else because I knew what would happen if I had to go to KFC Dixie Hwy Waterford again. It had been a long time but this kind of abuse lasts a long time so I knew exactly what I was in for. After 25 minutes of waiting for a 8 piece bucket meal I had to ask for my money back.
