Plymouth State University Commuter Food Week #6: KFC I went into labor the last time I ate KFC! That was nearly 20 years ago when I insisted that my sister ordered mashed potatoes and gravy to satisfy my pregnancy-induced craving. Look how that turned out- the resulting child now attends Quinnipiac University (shout-out to Ethan! Okay, now get back to studying for mid-terms!)! One thing that has been really difficult about taking this class at PSU is that I'm not hungry when I leave work at 4:30 for my hour-and-a-half car ride. This week, I decided to forego the Route 4 restaurants and continue my journey north- hoping I'd be a little hungry before I reached the mountains. By the time I got to Tilton, I thought I could use a snack. The golden arches called to me from the Exit 20 off-ramp. But what did I see in the distance? A KFC! I hadn't eaten KFC in ages, so I figured I'd give it a try. For less than $5, and less than 5 MINUTES from off-ramp to on-ramp, I got a tasty 3 piece boneless chicken finger thingy with mashed potatoes and gravy- the same mashed potatoes and gravy that fueled my journey into labor and childbirth! It was just as satisfying as it was the first time I ate KFC, without the drama of having a baby. read more

EVERY single time I order in the mobile app for KFC in Tilton my order is wrong or they dont have it. Tonight I ordered a pot pie. They waited until I got there at 6:45 pm (not at closing) to tell me they were out of pot pies, gravy, tenders and about 10 other things. I could only have a Famous Bowl. Not a huge fan of soggy chicken and instant mashed potatoes but it was my only option. It was awful. The drive thru person was bordering on sn a sky and rude. Totally indifferent. Not even a apology. Called the number on google and their website 16 times with no answer after ordering online and picking up my order that was half of what I paid for.... I had to drive back 20 minutes to get my order that was pre-ordered by atleast 15 minutes before i picked it up and then waited at the speaker to be acknowledged for at least 3 to 5 minutes.....its reading a screen n putting things in a bag..... I paid almost 25$ to have to go back for half my order now my food is cold and gross. Super inconsiderate on acount people only get so much time for lunch and they have to waste it on your employees incompetence...cool story bro... the lack of accountability with your employees is disgusting read more

Got 20 wings for 20 on app. They wiped off the hot and spicy sauce or rinsed it off and refried and added honey bbq sauce as per order. It was dehydrated and inedible. Very shady thing to do. I've never had kfc that stringy and dry. I'm not a picky person, but this deserves a callout. Disappointed and whoever did this, do better! read more

I'm not a prude, but when you're at the counter and the girls in the back are talking about tic tok and using lots of swears to describe how they like or don't like something ( obviously loud enough for me to hear every word), it's not a very good image. Also, not a fan of the fries instead of potato logs. I can get fries anywhere. read more

If I could do zero stars I would... Not only did I wait in the drive through for over 30 minutes with only a couple cars all together but once we got done the food wasn't even fresh and was poorly put together!! I would normally understand if they were busy being in the food industry myself however my experience here is inexcusable and couldn't even reach them by phone to resolve the problem!! Id rather make the drive to the concord location rather then go to the Tilton location again.. even the inside was always disgusting and always took things to Go instead of eating inside... ether this place really needs a whole new staff that somewhat cares about their job or just needs to be shut down... read more

I understand that they are very busy. They are only allowing food to go through their drive-through. After waiting 15 minutes in the drive-through, I was given the incorrect order. I pulled around and try to knock on their door and a teenage boy motioned for me to get back in line. I shook my head no as I just didn't have another 15 minutes to waste in line. At that point, even though I was banging on the door, he ignored me. So I drove around the building and pulled alongside a car and shouted to the guy at the drive-through window that my order was wrong. He told me to get back in line. I told him I'd already waited 15 minutes and I didn't have the time to wait and he said "well that's how you get your food ". As I see that they only have one and a half stars to begin with, they're used to mediocrity. And I'm sure they won't miss my business but they'll never have it again! I had been on my feet all day at work, I was very hungry, and I still had an hour drive home. I spent that time shaking in anger that they could be so disrespectful of my time. I tried to call the store to speak to a manager and I got connected to a Vermont number that nobody would answer and there was no answering machine or voicemail. We travel an hour to get to the kfc in Tilton, NH. Stopped by yesterday to order our usual $50+ order only to find a sign saying closed inside and closed drive thru and must order on App. We don't have an app because we live in the country with many no service areas so it's just stupid a restaurant would exclude a large segment of population. We decided to visit this KFC on our way to our NH vacation. Let me start by saying GROSS!!! Gross gross and more gross! We should have turned around and run for our lives when we stepped foot in the bathrooms .... but we were wary and hungry travelers. The memory of the KFC that used to be compelled us to order. It was awful... stale biscuits, greasy skinny chicken and cardboard (no potato containing) wedges. We also had to throw out our iced teas from the "fresh" dispensers it tasted like metal, like it'd been in the tin for days. Advice: Do NOT take a chance we're hoping the chance we took will not come back to haunt us as the garbage we ate gets digested. In the middle of kfc being very busy the worker went outside to smoke. And she was rude. The food was okay but customer service is -0!!

this applies to the Tilton NH KFC. I've been there five times in the last year. Four times the doors were locked and there was no sign on the door to indicate drive through only. The one time it was open, it was filthy inside, the. floors and tables. The outside landscaping was awful, dead plants and full of trash. The barrels were overflowing and trash was all over the ground. Today, the doors were locked again and there were employees out back smoking. Needless to say, we left. KFC food is good but this store needs to clean up its act. read more

This KFC in Tilton is the most disgusting KFC I have EVER seen. I will post pictures so you can take a look for yourself. I'm glad I didn't go inside because after seeing the outside and the grounds I knew the inside had to be WORSE. Waited in the drive thru for at least 20-25 minutes, good thing they weren't even busy. I placed a mobile order at this location 30 minutes prior to pickup. I was on a schedule as I had a medical appointment afterward. I arrived at the pickup time that KFC indicated when I prepaid. They had not even begun cooking the food. As I had already paid, I was stuck waiting. I know times are tough but this is ridiculous. I waited an additional 20 minutes (50 total!) ordered online at @450 pm for a 6 pm pickup got there at 602pm had to Wait in Line to get to the window then they tell me the original chicken is not cooked yet. Please wait by the front door. I did it for 20 mins more. No way to call them when you get there to get your online order just line up with the rest of the people. The worst kfc I have ever been in. The staff were surly, unhelpful, ignorant and to be honest a couple of them looked like they could use a good bath, and maybe run a brush through their hair. Sorry but when you are serving and cooking food hygiene is essential. The premises were also filthy. 3 tables were being used and the rest had not been wiped any time recently. The purple haired employee just ignored my request to make my order to go as I was not about to sit in filth to eat. I think she may have been the manager so that explains a lot about the lack of service, the rudeness and the all round incompetence. We have been here many times and it is getting worse and worse as time goes on. The inside is dirty and disgusting, and the food is always bad. Biscuits are stale, bread on sandwiches is always stale, and this past time was the worst. There was a receipt in the bottom of my drink, under the ice. The chicken was cold to the touch, the bread on the chicken little was hard as a rock, the Georgia gold sauce was nothing but grease, and the potatoes were crusty and cold. AWFUL. Watched the guy at the register take my money put it in the register rub his hands through his greasy hair proceed to go over grab chicken without changing gloves or using the rings when we told him we wanted him to remake the food after he washed his hands and switch out gloves he said it would be about a 5 min wait about 15 minutes later they still hadn't gotten our food the manager said well that's what happens when you have us remake the food we demanded a refund and walked out this place needs to be shut down before they get someone sick I wish I could give it zero stars read more

My dad is 91. His favorite take out is KFC. We brought some to him on Saturday. The chicken was not cooked all the way through and was bloody near the bone. They also did not get the order right. They forgot his potato wedges. The last 5 times we got him chicken at this same KFC, the order was not correct. Missing items, wrong items. Very disappointed. read more

Very disappointed in this place. I stopped with my elderly parents at this KFC on the way back home from a road trip to a funeral. We stopped there at 7pm. The staff had a young teenage girl who decided THAT was the time to sweep and wash the floor in the dining room around our feet while we were eating. It was quite appalling. Not to menton the slip and fall safety hazard she created for customers. The bathrooms were completely disgusting. Had we seen the bathrooms before ordering our food we would have turned on our heels and headed to the Tilton Diner. Clearly supervision in this store is lacking. I highly question the food safety practices behind the counter after an experience like this and would never eat there again. I wrote to corporate KFC to let them know about our experience but never recieved any response from them. Corporate simply does not care. Given that Corporate does not care about service and cleanliness or safety of their customers, we won't be going to any KFCs in the future. read more

This used to be one of my favorite fast food options. Recent visits have been less then delightful. The inside of the restaurant is completely destroyed. There was food, dirt, and garbage all over the dining area and this was at 11:30 in the morning when they opened. I even saw blood on a dining table while waiting for my food. About 2 years ago I went to this KFC on a friday night about 630. got a bucket of chicken multiple side dishes totaling 42 bucks drive home about 6 miles away. when we open the containers the Chicken was soggy and gray like it have been dug out of a swamp, the potato wedgie's were like a solid brick the mac & cheese looked like it was made with cottage cheese. we have smaller kids in the house they wouldn't even eat it, it was that bad. fast forward to this past Friday. thinking it couldn't be as bad an experience as it was and I really wanted some fried chicken. Loudon had racing this past weekend. we go again around 6PM thinking the food has got to be fresh because it's a busy weekend.No Fried Chicken to be had. zip, zero, nada. not sure who's in charge but they should look into some other type of employment. My husband and I ordered the $5 fill up with the hot Nashville chicken (which we paid an up charge for). We parked in the parking lot to eat the food. There were no pickles on the chicken, as advertised, but unfortunately that was the least of my concern. Whoever made the order neglected to put the chicken in the designated plastic container, as advertised. Since the dripping chicken was put into the paper/cardboard box, it leaked the oily hot sauce all over the bag and through the bag onto my dashboard, seat, ruined my pants, and my coat. By the time I cleaned everything up, in hopes it would not stain my vehicle, there was none of the sauce left on the chicken.
