This is a clean, happy place, with a great bar and TV monitors. Service was excellent with very nice wait staff and bar. I've always like this restaurant, the military discount, and I want them to succeed since they serve the community well. However, I have some concerns. The food has gone down hill lately on our last 3 visits. Example, tonight they had a hamburger loaf special with a picture of gravy and mushrooms with onions. Looked great for ~$15. Oh, but the mushrooms and onions were $3.00 more making the picture false advertising. The broccoli was excellent but no other low carb sides, so another ~$3 for broccoli casserole which was tiny and dried out. The salad had no healthy greens only white lettuce and a couple of other ingredients, no carrots, for ~$6. Ice tea and a coke were ~$3.25 each. Wow, they get you coming and going for average food. My suggestion is to upgrade your salad with greens, easy peazy. Then make your specials with NO additional cost "got ya." You need one or two additional sides with low carbs, like grilled mushrooms, peas, green beans, or even tiny potatoes with skins on. Ease off on the drink costs - charge $2.49 or OK $2.99 if you must. You make a lot of money at the bar and no problem with that. read more

I was somewhat hesitant to eat here given the bad reviews, but upon further inspection, realized most of those seemed to be for relatively minor/isolated issues. They take Covid precautions pretty seriously... There were at least three hand sanitizer dispensers between the door and my seat. Everybody wears a mask/gloves and there are plastic dividers between seats at the bar. I was seated right away and the bartender was quick and friendly in assisting me. Sheena answered my questions on a few menu items and remained attentive throughout the meal. As everyone who orders wedge salads knows, they are basically a delivery device for blue cheese. The wedge here was really good - tons of bacon and blue cheese crumbles. The blue cheese dressing-to-lettuce ratio was above average. I ended up with a seasonal seafood dish, which was essentially a bake of shrimp, scallops, fish, and a little crab meat covered in buttery Ritz cracker crumbs. Overall, very tasty and served quickly. No complaints. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again when in the area. It certainly seems like a superior option to some of the other fast food and chain restaurants in the area near the outlets. read more

After a day of shopping we stopped at this 99 for lunch. We both had the fish and chips! It was very good, light batter, crispy and good portion filet. Came with slaw and tarter sauce. Never a disappointment. Service was great. Hostess seated us in a booth, waitress took our drink order (water) and brought popcorn. Food was hot, portion size was great service was awesome! After skiing Tuckerman Ravine myself and my two friends stopped in (9:00p) on the way home for some grub. Never been at this location before but I walked in liked I owned the place and went straight to the bar and plopped myself down on the end where we could watch the Bruins game six playoff game vs Columbus. I took a quick glance at the menu and was ready to order. Our bartender (April) was on top of her game tonight and her work ethic shows too. Took our beverage orders as soon as we sat down and in between all our ordering she was hustling cleaning up and sweeping the bar after I am sure was a long day. After beverages we ordered appetizers, I started off by ordering a chowder which literally took one minute to be placed in front of me. It is my go to after a long day of skiing and hit the spot as well as my meal (country fried chicken with broccoli, mash potatoes and cranberry). The guys ordered wings, one had the fish and chips and the other had the crunchy pickle burger? They both enjoyed theirs and was still working on theirs as I ordered my peanut butter petite treat. Cheat code.... ask for a scoop of ice cream. I personally had a very happy visit and would recommend coming here. Service was excellent for what they're working with. I wish I could rate the service Vs the restaurant differently. Very disappointed I had either a burger, steak, or seafood to choose from. And I don't even like seafood. I think the kids menu had more options. Very disappointed. They haven't had the prime rib in almost three years. We used to have it when I was younger all the time. *TLDR* Ordered take out, food came out cold. My gift card value was the equivalent of chuckie cheese tokens. I figured, well its probably not done yet so a little wiggle room would help. Absolutely Wrong. Other than that, the food was really bad. So bad my wife wanted to take a photo and ask her friends, 'is this a kids meal? an appetizer?'. Of course, I could call and complain, but for what? a discounted meal at a chain restaurant? whets the point? I wont ever eat there again. The best thing I can do is leave a yelp review so staff and those ordering from 99 can be prepared. We ordered buffalo chicken tenders and 2 orders of fried cauliflower. upon returning home, all three meals were cold. they don't keep the food under heat lamp it sits in a bag up front. The chicken tenders resembled a red version of chicken livers. they were small and no wider than two fingers. or longer than a finger. I must admit I don't have large hands but damn, the only thing tender about these chicken slivers was my stomach. The fries it came with were soggy, bland and cold. I doused them in hot sauce just to give them some flavor to warm them up a bit. The fried cauliflower was tasteless. If you plan on ordering take out, just don't. If you plan on ordering chicken tenders, don't. The fact establishments can exist purely because of a franchise name is gross. We came to Tilton for a concert that we were unable to attend. My group was feeling down and decided to go out to dinner. Our server made our weekend! Steve (or Stephen?) Was energetic, friendly, and all around a great person to interact with! Steve was exhausted and the restaurant was understaffed. Steve was buzzing around helping all the tables in the area and was doing an amazing job! My group would go back simply just to interact with Steve again. 99 is lucky to have Steve under their belt . I would give zero stars if I could. Went here on 4/14/2024 with a friend and was not satisfied at all. My friend wanted to get a mimosa and the waitress ID'd her, which is fine. It's the law. The waitress said "I'll have to take this to the back". The waitress came back with the ID and said, "we can take this drivers license because it's bent". No big deal. So my friend gave her a Green Card. The waitress was then very rude. She was holding the card and laughing at my friend and refused to give her card back saying it wasn't an American card, even though it was issued by the United States. Finally, she got the card back in her possession. By this time the waitress said she was not going to wait on us. I'm confused about why she won't wait on us. She's the one that's treating my friend like garbage. But anyways, we asked for a manager, which did nothing. The manager got us another waitress who was really nice. My friend ordered her Mimosa with the new waitress. THEN here comes the rude waitress bringing out the mimosa with her hand inside the glass and slams it on the table and said "we do things different here in New Hampshire", with a sarcastic smile on her face. We both just looked at each other in shock wondering what this lady's deal is. She then went into the back and was speaking very loudly saying "yeah, I went out there and slammed it on the table saying 'we do things different here in NH". We used to love this place (pre-pandemic). We finally got to return tonight (just prior to 5pm) to have a beer & a bite to eat and left VERY disappointed. The food & service were mediocre at best, and if a person were sensitive at all they would've found waitress Kortni to actually be rude. We have always LOVE 99 Restaurants. Always consistent. Bartenders are great. HOWEVER, today we ate at the bar in the Tilton, NH location. Some of the things that changed my mind about eating at the 99 again: - server came out of the kitchen, popped a piece of food in her mouth, and LICKED HER FINGERS. She then got popcorn and delivered it to a table in the bar. Unbelievable. Basic serving 101 training should tell her this is forbidden. - Other negative is servers are gathered around the area where the hot food comes out. Chatting, loudly, where the food is under the heat lamp, and cold food on the counter in front of them. I have managed enough restaurants to know that there are plenty of things to be done rather than congregating in front of customers and talking personal crap. Had some coupons that came in the mail so decided to use one for lunch. We arrived during the lunch hour, were pleasantly greeted and seated in a comfortable booth. Our server, Lauren, came right over to take drink orders and tell us the lunch specials and types of soup they had that day. Waters with lemon (lunch time and errands to do, but there were some yummy sounding and looking adult beverages in the menu!) were promptly delivered and our orders were taken. We both ordered burgers and I'm always a little cautious about how I order it cooked, so went with medium with fingers crossed! My husband ordered the Sweet Heat Burger which was topped with Vermont cheddar, sweet jalapeño relish, crispy jalapeños, lettuce, tomato and a chipotle drizzle. He said it was really good and the "heat" was just right! I ordered the Vermont Burger which was topped with Vermont cheddar, applewood bacon, caramelized onions and a maple mayo on a toasted roll. Absolute yumminess and my burger was cooked just right! Lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles garnished the plate. There was a choice of fries or Cole slaw and we both went with the fries which were hot, crisp and fresh. Our server, Lauren, came back to check on us at appropriate times and was very pleasant. She remembered the extra mayo on the side for my burger and deducted the coupon amount without reminders. Love that! We will return! read more

My friend and I stopped on our way to a business meeting for a quick late lunch and sat at the bar. The restaurant was not busy with only one other person present, also at the bar. The waitress came over and asked what we would like. We both stated we would like a menu and would start with a water. After we closed our menu she walked by us at least twice. We waited 15 to 20 minutes without any acknowledgement from her. She spent that time flirting with the original patron and a few other men who had enter the restaurant and also sat at the bar. Took my daughter who is in town visiting for the week to lunch at a old favorite. Having had fond memories of enjoying the 99 as a child she always likes to go when in town. Today we stopped on the way to up to our home on Lake Winnipesaukee at the Tilton NH location and we were not disappointed. We were greeted promptly and seated in a nice booth. Our sever Emily came over and greeted warmly, and took our drink order. The drinks arrived quickly and the amount of wine you get for the price is a great deal. settled on the salmon from the healthy choices menu and my daughter got the warm buttered lobster roll. We enjoyed the complimentary popcorn and chatted as we waited for our meals. The food came out in under 15 minutes and was perfect. My fish was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. My daughter remarked at how full of lobster her roll was, saying that it didn't even need the butter it came with it was so good. Emily's service was above and beyond, her great personality and quick thinking added to our experience at this location. She even brought us a to go water and ice tea at the end of our meal. All in all a great lunch, we will be back. read more

They are in New Hampshire this weekend for the New England Motor Speedway US Legends Car World Finals. I go there every time I'm in town, about twice a month. I sit at the bar and get the best service. Very polite and attentive bartender and she mixes a good drink. I give the bar 5 stars. The food is pretty good too. I had the Rhode Island calamari and pork ribeye tonight and was very happy with both. read more
