My homebound recently widowed father was lonely and craving a nice warm meal. He requested KFC and had been craving it for some time. The chicken looked and tasted like it had been cooked in 3-week old grease. The biscuits were smashed and dry, and disintegrated when they were buttered. When I called and asked to speak with a manager, the first staff I spoke with said that they were, but apparently they were confused with their job description, and inept to offer a solution. They quickly passed the phone to someone else who also said they were the manager. After getting nowhere again, he clarified that his role was that a shift leader. When I asked who the manager of the restaurant was, he did not know his name. I'm really not one to complain, but for a $30 dinner for two, you at least expect something mediocre. There is only one thing that KFC is expected to be above average at doing: Chicken. In an age where even burger places make a decent chicken sandwich, you'd think KFC might even up its game a little. Alas, the best comparison I can make is the chicken "tenders" were like something you'd find at the buffet of an Indian casino in Nebraska on a Thursday afternoon. Horrible and horribly overpriced ($12 for the combo). The biscuit was tasty, warm and flaky, which I love. But you don't come to KFC for the biscuits. They are a tie-breaker at best. At least this location is combined with (and sullying the name of) A&W. The only reason this gets any stars at all (besides the fact that I have to do one in order to post a review) is that from-the-tap house-made A&W root beer is one of the best culinary treats in America. Decided to go to this location yesterday. Their inside is being renovated. The drive thru was about a 15-20 min wait. ( who even knows why, we assumed it's because the person didn't know how to take an order ) Ordering our food we had to repeat multiple things, the lady who was taking the order forgot to ask us what we wanted for our sides, we had to mention them to her. When we finally got to the pickup window, we asked if we could have utensils and the lady working said it's already in the bag and stepped away. ( zero utensils in the bag ) she forgot our drinks, we had to ask for them. The drink area looked disgusting and dirty. Our drinks were not mixed right 0 out of 10. We chucked them in the trash at the nearest Maverick. There was no sauce as we ordered. No napkins, no honey and butter for the biscuits, no salt on the corn, the gravy was tasteless, chicken was soggy like and my order was wrong. We usually really like KFC. This location is terrible for some reason. Whoever owns this location needs to step it up by retraining their employees. Cleaning up your window area and correcting your drink mix. Double checking that the orders are correct before you give it out. Make sure you're serving fresh food that's cooked correctly, spray for bugs and clean up the spiders and webs throughout the drive thru. My husband and I were eating lunch today in my work break room, when my co-worker returned from visiting KFC where she had purchased her lunch. She decided to sit down and eat with us. When she opened her box and then showed us her meal, we were all in shock. We couldn't believe what her chicken looked like. She had 3 pieces of original KFC chicken. For her $10.23, KFC gave her the ugliest, darkest, most disgusting meal that I have ever seen. The chicken looked as if it was 2-3 days old and was thrown back into warm oil over and over to heat it up. It was so dark that it looked almost black. Someone walked by our table back at work and said it looked like a dead mouse. It was truly ugly and unappetizing. My husband offered to return her meal to the store as we all had to get back to work. He made a special effort to drive out of his way to return this meal. It took him 20 minutes to get back to the restaurant. He went inside and when he handed it to the Floor Supervisor, she looked at it and picked up each piece then returned them to the box. She said, "Okay. What do you want?" He requested a refund, and she said okay. She went and got the refund from the drive through register. He thanked her for the refund and asked if it would be possible to get a credit for a future purchase? And she looked at him with a blank stare, and said, "What? Oh, no, we can't do that." My husband has owned restaurants and been in the restaurant business for most of his life. He let the Floor Supervisor know how he handled any issues with customers: In his businesses, if someone brought something back, or was dissatisfied with their food order, he would refund their money and immediately offer a free order or something that could make up for their trouble. She, again, basically looked at him with a blank stare and then turned and walked away. Do yourself a favor, and eat somewhere else. Do NOT purchase anything from this place. Where is the Colonel? Where is Corporate KFC? Where is Corporate A&W? I will be contacting them.
