I used to come here pre-COVID for their lunch buffet. I had hopes when I read a review and someone mentioned buffet in 2023. I've been craving KFC, enjoyed their buffet, and was in the neighborhood so I thought I'd stopped by. Unfortunately, they do not sell buffet. There were no signs around the restaurant except one by the drive-thru, but I think that was forgotten/left behind. It was that one sign that had me walk into the restaurant. On the other hand, the restaurant looks clean, there was an option where you can order via their kiosk, and there was a sign of meal deals. It looks like it went through remodeling at one point. read more

Never more then a car or 2 and it takes forever to get the food . Customer service is not good.

As far as KFC chain restaurants go I will give this one four stars. The staff has always been super helpful and accommodating, and the food is always fresh. I would definitely recommend pick up though for this location, especially later on in the day. read more

I have no idea what you guys were talking about because I got my Chicken CRISPY and DELICIOUS, my mashed potatoes was GOOD, and the little bread thing that comes with. This is now my all time favorite fast food restaurant because of how much I liked what they gave me. Nothing was soggy, watery, or wet. All delicious, people working there were nice, pretty much like McDonald's workers, just normal guys. I love when I get to eat there, absolutely amazing. I love chicken. read more

I should have listened to the reviews. We got take out and the chicken batter was mushy - NOT crispy! You can tell it was sitting under the lights for a while. Definitely not crispy and fresh. read more

if I could give it 0 I would. this place toook forever to place an order. then I didn't even get the correct chicken sandwich because they were out of patties. then I didn't even not get my full meal because I didn't get my fries. Went there and used the kiosk but want to call out the great service. I specifically want to call out Ty whom provided service with a smile all 3 times we asked for stuff. He did it with a smile and said let me know ow if you need anything else. He seemed to generally enjoy his job and helping people which is rare to find in fast food now a days. read more

Speaking as someone who's not an avid fan of KFC, I do like this place for the buffet. It's not anything fancy, but, for the price of about $8, you really get your money's worth. It was one of my Mom's favorite places, &, now that she's gone, it brings very fond memories of seeing her smile. If you like KFC, I strongly suggest this place. If you're like me and pretty "meh" about it, it's still a decent meal if you just don't feel like cooking on that rare night. The employees are also very cheerful & professional. Like the buffet, the atmosphere is simple, but good. If they're busy, there may be a little too much mess, but the staff are clearly doing their best to keep it clean. If nothing else, they take pride in their work. read more

Thank you to the employees who kept everything running despite the long lines. The spicy chicken sandwich is great! The chicken is a quality filet, the bun is buttery, and the sauce is tangy! This spicy chicken sandwich competes with the best of them. read more

I ordered on boost mobile and they checked off that it was done on the app early and then took another 20 minutes to call out my order. I was very disappointed in the sandwich itself as I ordered extra meat on my cheese steak deluxe and got a sandwich half full of lettuce and not even what I consider a regular portion of meat. It was $15. Also I was still hungry after and could probably eat 3 more so don't get if you're hungry. read more

In a time of desperation, this place came in clutch. We had just been traumatically let down by our previously beloved smash burger, when This KFC location came into our lives unexpectedly and truly redeemed our evening. We came right after church, hungry for the Spirit as well as chicken. I've got to say, KFC really has that soul in it. Additionally, colonel sanders greeted us with a bright smile, and watched over us making sure we were safe. 10/10 recommend this location of KFC read more

I love KFC chicken, crispy goodness sent from above. the slaw isn't bad either. Honey biscuits are so good.

Dripping with grease. KFC has been getting worse for years but these days I can't even find the occasional good bucket of original chicken. They are terrible and are mushy wet with grease. Remember it used to be crispy and great. read more

Coming here, was a smart choice for lunch, as I have not been here for a very long time. Of course we stopped here to see if they still did their buffet. Sadly, even though they don't do it anymore, I was pleasantly surprised to see this place remodeled recently, and how friendly everybody who worked here was. Of course, I have to say that my mashed potatoes/ fried chicken bowl was really like the best of both worlds of it being crunchy and really sweet tasting. Everything was seamlessly blended together that I really enjoyed I enjoyed my meal so much and so hungry that I did not have to take it home. Of course I would like to go back, to try something else as well, maybe a potpie, or maybe some of their chicken tenders. read more

The potatoes were watery and did not taste.good. skin on chicken was flabby, I used to love kfc but this one is going downhill

I order three to be $5 fill-up boxes, a mashed potatoes bowl, and a Nashville meal. Got home to feed my family and one of the meal was missing. I called the store right away to inform them that a meal missing and the manager told me that it was my fought that I should have checked my bag. I told her that she needs customer service training and to always give the customer the pickle. I will be calling the district manager to inform him to train his employees on customer service and politeness. read more

Ahh the guilty odd pleasure of the KFC experience. For some of us, there is something tasty about the original, slightly greasy recipe with the slaw and the biscuit. The potatoes don't have a lot of flavor but the gravy is not half bad. It's KFC, and sometimes you just want it, clean eating be damned. This KFC has a buffet, and at weekday lunch it can be a mob scene. There are many vaguely off putting signs about not wasting food, not sharing food, etc. Barbarian hoards must have ran into the buffet one time too many so the Colonel put his foot down. Still it's cheap, fast, and plentiful so the crowd keeps coming. The drive through/regular menu does have a better quality of chicken then the buffet. For one thing, if you like white meat good luck getting that at the buffet. The hoards grab it early, and the kitchen is not too interested in keeping up with buffet supply. It's hotter and fresher off the menu too. I would not call the place dirty but they could do with some tidying up. The staff can look a little surly even for a fast food joint. It's KFC. Better probably than the Columbia Heights location, but not as good as some of greater Minnesota sites, particularly for the buffet. read more

The Colonel's secret blend of herbs and spices are what makes this chicken some of the best you'll ever eat. Biscuits, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy. Pot pies, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, fries, and Pepsi make this a great place to eat. read more

They made us pay $3.99 + tax for my 18 mo old to eat 2 oz of food. This is a new development and it's gross. Beyond that, their food is below par - but the chicken is worth the buffet. Also, when I went to get food and my face was up to the glass, I got a mighty whiff of STANK. Some people obviously hadn't been washing their mouths for a week or two before coming to get their meal. I suggest being careful of the germs in general of this place. read more

The flavor is there but original and the biscuits get soggy very quickly in the takeout container. I'd recommend grilled and skip the biscuit. read more

I haven't been to a KFC in years. A friend went to the buffet and didn't die, so I figured I'd give it a try. Well, the coleslaw was tasty. There? Does that kind of sum it up? I mean, the place was mostly clean, the staff were nice and all... but the raison d'être of the whole thing, the chicken... Epic Fail. About all I could taste was the coating. And the cooking oil. The chicken itself could have been any number of Protein Things. No... not anything, I guess. It wasn't steak. There... a slogan: "KFC: Not Steak". The potatoes tasted instant, and the gravy was abysmal. Well, at least it came with unlimited pop, and it was more or less cheap. Sooooooo..... if the want fried chicken that doesn't taste of chicken, KFC is the place for you! BTW... I will be Having Words with my friend about his dining choices. read more

Truly deserving the low review other have posted. Ordered a bucket of extra crispy chix and spicy sandwich. When I got home, no sandwich. There is a Tagalog word for that....bitten! All the pieces are over cooked, so extra crispy becomes hard as a rock. Maybe it is unique to this location (central ave. Mpls), they do chicken wrong! read more

Was craving their wedges and drove extra to come here and food tasted old and stale. Very disappointed

Worst customer service, I have been sitting here for almost 15 minutes and no waiter bothered coming to my table to serve me. It looks like every waiter is his own supervisor and there is no command of control in this restaurant, very chaotic and disorganize place. This will be my last visit to this restaurant, I will will be taking my business some where else that appreciates my presence. read more

Blech, methinks not! We used to go to this before hitting a movie & such as it's close to the mall and was cheap enough for a lunch buffet, but since they hiked the price and servers have gotten ruder, this one is definitely a skipper. Now the "best" (?) thing on the menu are the $5 fill-ups, so we decided to just do that. Big mistake. I got a two-piece fill-up (a thigh and a leg)--when they gave me the plate I said "What's that? That's not a leg, that's a drummie!" The leg was tiny, but to his credit, my server tromped back up to the front with me in tow to retrieve a leg that was meatier from the rack (I told him I could just take one from the buffet as I was sitting right next to it but he said no, he couldn't do that, it HAD to come from the rack. Sigh.) He shuffled around the rack of legs for 5 minutes and, not seeing a meatier one (!), just grabbed a random leg and gave it to me on a piece of wax paper. Oh yummy. Anyway, it isn't so much the food (I could write a whole other review about the random, messy items in the buffet and the great number of grimy children grabbing the tongs to serve themselves), it's the customers. If you go, make sure you choose seats that face the windows...trust me, you just don't want to notice the customers. There is one worker who constantly sweeps (believe me, the floor NEEDS it...it also could use a good mopping or a hosing down), so cover your trays when he's near as random bits of floor crud could very well enter your lunch uninvited. And it's constant! Annoying as hell. Greasy, grubby, crumbs of God-knows-what everywhere, dirty tables, even dirtier customers...it was just gross. read more

It was very disappointing how I had walked 3 miles just to get there and my expectations was very high. This made me mad since the zinger burger was very salty and dry and I didn't get any sort of sauces to go even after I asked for it. Not recommend near here as I've seen better kfcs. read more

There are some fast food joints I get a craving for once a year. Yesterday was the day. This was my second time stopping by for the buffet, and it was far better than the first time. I think KFC is skimping on their spices, the chicken tasted blander than I remember. However, there was plenty of food, and fresh. I think it helped going at lunchtime when they keep restocking the buffet. Very clean, very efficient. The manager obviously takes great pride in his store. read more

Wow-Where do I start? First of all, I want to publicly apologize to my family and friends for even thinking of eating here. I am NOT a buffet loving person but for some reason, today, as I drove past this KFC, I suddenly wanted chicken and mashed potatoes. I truly am sorry I made you experience this awful place. The people working here are rude. Granted, I might not know the ins and outs of working at a buffet so I could be way off here. Perhaps its a prerequisite to be rude in hopes the patrons just quickly leave. Regardless, the help was unfriendly, one even yelled at me while I was standing to get a new plate, that someone was before me...Ok...I was not standing to place a new order, I just wanted a new plate. Keep in mind, there is no sign indicating the process and the only reason i knew to go to the counter to get a plate was when we arrived, a man was waiting for a new plate and had told the worker how ridiculously slow they were and that it should not take that long to get a plate. You better be careful KFC! With the looks of the crowd in there, I would not put it past any one of them to just use their dirty plate to get more food if they have to wait too long. Just sayin.... I knew before I even grabbed one of the slimy scoops leading me to the Mac and Cheese and Potatoes, that we were in trouble; This was not going to be good. I searched and searched for some white meat, a breast piece, with no success. I grabbed a few pieces, in hopes that under all the crunchy batter, I might find a little sliver of a breast, but no such luck. Thighs, Thighs, and more Thighs. I literally threw away at least four pieces of chicken. I finally found one in the BBQ chicken area but I am not a huge fan of BBQ but I did eat it. By this time, I felt they only threw in token pieces of white meat here and there. I found out later, that you have to ask for the white meat, They say it gets too dry if they put it out. Hmmm....Not so sure that's the real reason but I really do not care at this point because this was probably my first and last visit to KFC. The other items in the buffet were adequate. I only ate the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and cole slaw. The salad bar portion of the buffet looked pathetic. Do yourself a favor and don't let the cheap price lure you in. read more

I came here today for the Lunch Buffet and to compare with my chicken meal from yesterday from a different place. I was a bit miffed with the small beverage cup. It's ok, I suppose because refills are no additional charge. My first plate, I got the mac and cheese, coleslaw, biscuit and 2 pieces of chicken, extra crispy. The mac n cheese is very good for buffet style. Mac n cheese has a tendency to get dried out sitting at the buffet counter. This was very creamy, pasta cooked very well and just the right warmth to eat and enjoy. The coleslaw was also good, crunchy, chilled and flavorful. Just a bit to soupy for a 3 compartment plate. I got a bit more on the serving spoon than I should have and some of the slaw juice fell into the mac n cheese compartment. This may have added a bit of flavor to the mac n cheese. The extra crispy chicken was OK. Crispy, yes. But a bit too greasy after biting in to it to get the protein we all need and want. The biscuit was decent and my fault for not getting some gravy to dip it into. My second plate, I got mash potatoes, gravy, corn and only 1 piece of the original chicken. The potatoes were decent texture and the gravy flavorful enough to enjoy the bland potatoes. The corn was decent being tender enough without being mushy. Could have used some melted butter to give it a more exciting flavorful corn. I added pepper and this helped out. The chicken was quite greasy. Breading was moist instead of dry like it should be. I would not say it was mushy, but too wet for my preference. Again, the protein was very greasy. Service was quick, but this was at 11:00, so not many people yet. The first table I saw entering the dining area had already been used and not wiped yet after the visitors left. I would think they would want to keep the tables clean in preparation for the lunch crowd. KFC chicken does not compare to the fried chicken I had yesterday. Unless I am craving the sides KFC offers, this will not be my choice for fried chicken. KFC is too greasy compared to the tender, moist chicken from yesterday. read more

Haha, why am I even wasting my time writing a review for a fast food place like KFC? Never mind, just STAY AWAY! We came here for the buffet and while it is good, it isn't anything to drive out for. The chicken here is nice and crispy with two versions being served in the buffet, an extra crispy and normal version. The other things being served are what you would imagine at a traditional thanksgiving table (mash potatoes, stuffing, mac n cheese, biscuit, rice, etc). Don't get me wrong, the service is great but the place can sometimes be too crowded and packed. Another thing is that the place uses a lot of styrofoam plates and rather than being recycled, it's thrown into the trash. Hopefully that can change as a lot of traffic comes through here each day. read more

Okay, level set expectations. This is a 4 stars rating for a KFC buffet. When I go to a KFC for a buffet, I realize that it's not like KFC suddenly became a restaurant, it's still very much the fast food fried chicken chain that I know and love. Yes, I can probably go to a Chinese buffet for not much more (it was $8.88/adult in Feb 2017), but if you're a lover of KFC, this is a good choice. Yes, the eating space could be cleaner (the floors and tables) but the decor/place is modern, well designed, the layout is relatively spacious. It does get filled up though, so try to get there a little earlier since there are only about 15 tables/booths. At the end of the day, you are getting some of KFC's staples in the buffet line for the price. And the staples (fried chicken, extra crispy fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cole slaw) are all pretty much the same quality that you'd get if you were to order it in line. There were some additional items that weren't as great in quality and that were more unrecognizable to me when it comes to KFC (honey BBQ popcorn chicken, fried gizzards, pasta marinara, alfredo macaroni, desserts including vanilla pudding, chocolate pudding, jello, canned peaches). And then there were the items that I recognized but that got mushy because it was in a buffet line (mac and cheese, carrots, green beans). And the refreshing - normal iceberg salad, really helpful when you're heaping on the carbs. All in all, if you're looking for KFC, it gives you what you're looking for (no chicken tenders though unfortunately or corn!) and the people working there are friendly. I don't think I'll need to revisit KFC for a while, but it's well worth it if you want to try out a KFC buffet. read more

I never review fast foods because they are the same everywhere, you basically know what you'll get. We stopped by on a Sunday night 15 min before closing and they were out of hot wings, so they said we'd have to wait 10 min. I grew up eating a lot of KFC and today was the first time I bought it on my own. Honestly- chicken is just okay, sides are just okay, biscuits are AMAZING! But that's about it. Maybe I enjoyed it so much growing up because it was just another night of food. And I remember it being good. Service at this location is kind of terrible so don't be surprised if you have to wait a long time to place your order or even get condiments. Kind of bad, but it's clean, overall fine, just nothing special. You've seen one KFC you've seen them all. Oh but this far north- no chicken livers :( read more
