Nothing could have prepared me for the horror that was a KFC in Lynn. Now I've lived here long enough (what, 3 months?) to have become familiar with the little diddy about Lynn (ya know, the city of Sin?) but really, KFC? First of all, when we entered I sort of knew we might be taking our life out of our own hands...the line was almost out the door. And the people standing on it seemed to pay no mind to the half-dressed 10 year old with more gold than the pimp I saw sitting in an Escalade outside. Seriously. Maybe they were together? I don't know. But we were hungry and so, we waited. I ordered fried chicken. I'm dieting and I haven't eaten it in months. Now that I feel like I've had dystentery for the last 24 hours, I probably know why - and I'm not even using Alli! Anyway, the potato wedges were fine, but like all obese Americans, I expect there to be diet soda with my 655454 calorie meal...and there wasn't any. I settled for that real diet drink - ya know, water. But really, the cashier was slow, the food prep people were even slower and the only person who seemed to have a handle on anything was the drive-thru operator. Yeeesh. How grossly UNFAIR the other Reviewers have been. I'll step up to the plate and provide the defense that KFC so definitely deserves. It's a sin to rate this type of business only 1 star for slow service or a low level of ambiance. KFC is just like every other Ultra-Quick Fast Food Chain Restaurant with respect to ambiance and service during rush hour. So, why expect anything more in this regard? No, their wait times are just a few minutes, which is absolutely normal, and they must be rated on their Quality and Quantity. The fact is that KFC's secret recipe and process revolutionized the Fast Food Chicken genre. I can only comment on their Original Recipe Chicken Breasts, and I can say that their quality, quantity, taste, and value easily surpass any and all other Chicken Chains as well as your average Grandma's chicken dinner. The fact that KFC's are ubiquitous, conveniently located, quick, inexpensive, and provide outstanding value should rank them high on anyone's Fast Food list. I only rate them 4 stars instead of 5 because every now and then the chicken can be a bit less moist and tasty because it's been sitting for several minutes before being served. But, this occurs infrequently and is to be expected and tolerated. read more

To any of my MA friends, NEVER go to the KFC in Lynn (address is 720 Lynnway). Stopped by there today on my way home from work because I was really craving some mashed potatoes and a Pepsi. Lady took my order, customer service wasn't immaculate but beggars can't be choosers. So I got my order, put my straw in my Pepsi and drove on my merry way down the Lynnway heading home. I eventually took a sip of my pepsi, and something got into in my mouth. I figured it was a piece of straw wrapper I may have accidentally left on so I spit the piece of whatever it was into my mouth expecting just that. But NOPE. It was a lovely chunk of mold. Yes folks, I said MOLD. Fuzzy and all. I almost vomited, can't even tell you how disgusted I was. Called the store telling them what had happened and told them I was coming back for a refund. I threw the rest of the food away because I didn't think it was an issue throwing it out. I was so disgusted. I then went back to the store, with the chunk of mold on a napkin to show them. When I walked in, I was immediately met at the counter by the manager, who by the way didn't give a crap. He refused to give me a refund. Called the store manager to let him know and see if he would allow a refund, he also said no. What kind of business is this? THEY DIDN'T CARE. AT ALL. No apology, no nothing. A-holes, quite frankly. And I was nice till they started being rude to me. I'm just so disgusted by the mold, but also by the humans I interacted with at the store. How could you have zero compassion for your customers? I have not been to a KFC in at least like a decade I decided to stop today as it was on my way home. I haven't tried the food yet but I will tell you just due to the lack of customer service alone I will not be returning. I got an attitude for asking for sauce, I got an attitude for asking for napkins, I got another dirty look for asking for a straw for my beverage. Then when all that tension was done with and I thought I could go home, I didn't have my receipt. I paid with a card so I wanted to make sure the charges were correct so I asked her to come back to the window so I could get it. She snapped her neck so hard I thought it was going to break. Then proceeded to close the window take her sweet time, comes back, sticks the receipt out the window, and lets it blow away. Great job, hope u like it at kfc. Zero stars. They are only taking orders by drive-they and online ordering. Don't bother pulling up to one of the curbside pick-up spots and calling the number they have on the signs to ask someone to come out with your order. This place is the worst KFC ever, please do not bother to go in or drive through. A few weeks ago I went there and got us a bucket of chicken (drive through) the order came with missing items and sides, also I believe they ripped us off intentionally by not comply with the price posted on KFC website. Today we went there again (forgot about the place being crappy or just naive) and got ourselves another bucket of 12 piece for 23.99. The order came back with stale chicken, most likely left over or unsold chicken. Also, the staffs are rude and not knowledgeable about KFC or its chicken. I walked in for take out. First there is a guy sleeping in the middle of the dining room very audibly snoring. I'm 4th in line. Takes about 10 minutes to get served. Evidently for some reason they're ringing everything on the takeout register. I get to the front of the line and a man opens the register at the front of the store. I order 2 corn on the cob and the 6 strip meal for 2. I ask for the Honey Gold & Nashville sauces. I'm told they don't offer that for takeout. Odd when they advertise everything all over with those sauces. I have to pick 2 of 6 sauces offered. I choose the sweet & tangy and the honey mustard. I'm told by the man he has to see if they have corn on the cob. He returns and says yes. I get my order and 4 sauce packs ( I ask for an additional 2) and I leave the store. After a bus ride home I discover they missed 1 whole ear of corn and the one I got was 3" total. What a rip off. Then 4 of the 6 chicken strips are no more than nuggets. A complete ripoff. Terrible customer service. Ordered an 8-piece meal to-go, inside the dining room; took 30 minutes just to get it!!! I was one of the first customers to put in my order before it started getting a bit busy but the cashier just kept taking orders and kept saying the food would be ready "soon". When I first walked in I looked a the menu for a good couple of minutes because I had never been to a KFC before and the lady at the cash register just stared at me with a snobby look on her face. I then ordered the $10 combo with five tenders, two dipping sauces and two sides i'm pretty sure. My order was ready very quickly and I could tell why. The "tenders" looked like scraps, barely any chicken. I got mashed potatoes as a side and nothing else, no dipping sauce, no other side. Some of the pieces were hard skin off of a chicken thigh like they basically gave me the scraps of the left over chicken and cut it up . Have been going to many KFC's since the 1970's and have been generally happy. However, this one on the Lynnway was the worst. Not only is the food not up to par, the staff is the rudest I have ever seen in a restaurant. Messed up my order badly leaving things out etc. so when called their 800 number the manager called and said they would replace the meals. When we came in for it they said my name wasn't in the complaint book and they refused to replace the meal. They said they would hand us one chicken tender and we could call the complaint line and waved us on. We weren't arguing but the people in line looked at us amazed at their rudeness. Then they began speaking in another language looking at us. It was a terrible experience from terrible employees and you had better chose another KFC if you want any satisfaction with your meal. As for the Lynnway one, it is a joke. Every time I go in there, there's a problem with my order. They either tell me I can't have what I ordered, and don't give me a reason, or they screw it up entirely. Case in point, I went in today and ordered 2 Extra crispy chicken breasts ( the cashier proceeded to ask me if I wanted the chicken with it. Really? No, keep the chicken and Just give me the breading") and three regular chicken wings and a side of corn on the cob. I am going to use this review as my homage to fast food since this KFC is next to where I work and is a convenient stop for when I work late and I have a 65 mile drive ahead of me before I get home. The hallmark of fast food is consistency and my comments about this KFC are transferable to any number of their sister stores. I enjoy KFC chicken it is always juicy and the herb and spice blend are very tasty. The sides are marginal, but hey you come here for the chicken. I do know people who rave about both their mashed and gravy and their cole slaw. They even have a healthier option in their grilled chicken. It seems like every time I go to this KFC (since I'm a local), I always have to wait 9-15 minutes because they run out of chicken. Not that I really mind but it doesn't make sense for a fast food chain who's main courses involve chicken...to run out? Everytime I go, I wait. it took me about my 10th time to realize that the wait is seriously no longer worth it. The staff are rude as many mentioned before, I remember one staff worker being really rude to a person who ordered after me, and I was getting anxious because the immense attitude the staff worker was showing was something that could have escalated a conflict between that worker and the person ordering, and I kept praying that I don't get stuck in the middle of a conflict in a restaurant where it was only me, the staff worker and that other person ordering in the restaurant. Really wish there was an option for zero stars. Closest kfc when I was living in Lynn so whenever I was craving it is go here. Now, I worked in fast food for 7 years and left as a restaurant manager after working my way up so when it comes to fast food places I always am the first to give them a break and understand what it's like on the other side of the counter but there is absolutely no excuse for this place. So many bad experiences but the worst was the last one where my wife & I pulled up to the drive thru and got no response. After 5 minutes we went inside and figured maybe something was wrong with the speaker. Nope. Nobody had a headset on and the drive thru cashier was at the window arguing with a customer. The girl at the front counter was beyond miserable and agitated and when we asked for a manager she said it was her so we told her our concerns and she brushed them off, no apology. The drive thru cashier then started laughing at us and tried to start an argument. Nasty attitudes and the chicken looked beyond old. Place was dirty. We ended up leaving and haven't went back since. In fact we've only been to kfc once since and we were hesitant. We spoke to the general manager one time and she was even worse...horrible stuck up attitude. We then contacted corporate and never heard back. Clearly kfc just doesn't care about customer service or feedback. If I'm craving good fried chicken I'll make it myself. I'm going to step up to the plate and write an actual review for this place! Awful customer service. I pull up to the drive-through and they ask for my order. I say "two grilled chicken breast please". Their response, "no". Then nothing. Then she tells me that I asked if they had it. And she was saying no. Which was NOT the case. She was being rude, and was still being rude. She didn't want to bother trying to take my order. Mind you the last couple times I've asked for this, they have not had it. Which is alone frustrating. Always "no we are out". Place is not clean. And the workers are always very rude. I'm all set!! Maybe the person trying to rate KFC with fairness should visit this establishment and see how awful it is! We are rating KFC on the Lynnway in Lynn not the whole KFC chain. It's terrible!
