I got the new spicy chicken sandwich, some onion rings and a box of chicken tenders with dipping sauces. I've heard a lot of good things about the spicy sandwich so I was very excited to try it. And it definitely didn't disappoint the chicken had a little spice to it Very flavourful crunchy I like the sauce that goes in the sandwich and the fact that they put pickles to offset the spiciness to give it a sweet taste definitely ties it all together. The chicken tenders were so crispy I believe they fry everything on the spot so it's the reason why it's so crispy but it's a good ratio between batter and chicken and the sizes of the chicken tenders are HUGE! The onion rings were perfectly crispy sometimes other places other onion rings are small with a lot of oil these were cooked perfectly crispy big rondelles of onions! I definitely suggest if you're on your way to Toronto definitely check where are you can try a a Popeyes. If you're a lover of spicy or fried chicken you're definitely going to want to try the sandwich and or the chicken tenders! I suggest sauce sweet honey ranch or the Popeye signature sauce.

Don't get me wrong, very nice and friendly but htey always seem to be looking over my shoulder to see who else is coming in. Anyway, on to the food. Gravy is GREAT! Might as well try this one again as there was no other chicken nearby. Went in, checked out the menu board. I can't remember the exact prices but it was very expensive for a similar-to-KFC kind of meal. Settled for one piece and if I remember rightly it was about $10 with tax. Way too much. For heaven's sake, a medium order of fries is about $7, correct me if I am wrong and I will gladly change this. Hubby lost his appetite, since he was paying. They are still smelly spraying cleaning solutions on the tables right in front of your food so we had to cover it, but that hardly matters after what I am going to tell you. But, as we were waiting, things went from bad to really bad. A girl came bouncing out of the cooking area, wearing rubber gloves, to greet what I think was her boyfriend. She touched him, her surroundings, and her own hair with those gloves. Back to the kitchen she went and returned shortly after, carrying a box of food for the boyfriend and still wearing the rubber gloves. I am quite sure she didn't change those gloves in the kitchen after the first little visit. The dirty gloves should have been removed before she left the kitchen, and certainly not worn back into the kitchen once they were out and about being contaminated. They both sat down, and she kept the gloves on, and touched everything she could. Then she returned to the kitchen to make more food, and again I am quite sure she didn't change the gloves. UGH UGH UGH. This may be a new winner for the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. REMOVE YOUR DIRTY GLOVES WHEN YOU LEAVE THE KITCHEN. DON'T TOUCH YOUR HAIR OR YOUR BOYFRIEND'S HAIR OR ANY PART OF ANYBODY'S BODY WHILE WEARING KITCHEN GLOVES. WASH YOUR HANDS AND PUT NEW GLOVES ON WHEN YOU RETURN TO THE KITCHEN. GOT IT? We left, never to return again.

The first think I noticed were the wall murals of Don Cherry, Doug Gilmour and the Tragically Hip. Otherwise, it looks like any other takeout joint. We were the only customers in the place, and the one person working was busy preparing orders placed online. He happily greeted us and asked if we knew what we wanted, but we hadn't yet. We eventually decided on combo #2 which the cheeseburger and poutine. The poutine was ready first, and it was - average. I was expecting something more, but it honestly wasn't any better than what I could get from a NY Fries (actually I like the fries at NY fries better). On the other hand the cheeseburger was pretty good. I only read after that the King St location might be better. I guess I'll try that location next time, if I'm in Kingston, but I'll keep my expectations in check.

The poutine was amazing. Thank you! we'll be back!

Upon entering we found a really cute place with tables and some bar seating. It has a cute and casual atmosphere with popular songs playing but in blue grass style. It wasn't busy because they just opened for the day so we were seated immediately. We were happy to see they carried beer from Wayland, a local brewery from our area. We ordered drinks and food and it came out quickly. Our server was attentive and was able to speak to all our menu questions to ensure we got what we needed. I ordered a class of Pinot Grigio and the Martha salad with grilled chicken. It was absolutely delicious, very flavorful and tasty. The cilantro and dates were a nice add on to a salad. The dates were a nice sweet contrast to the salty goat cheese. I was impressed that they had a lot of healthy and gf options that were wonderful and didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. I am told the blackstrap bbq chicken sandwich was wonderful. The chicken and onion straws were nice and crispy. The bbq sauce wasn't overpowering but added a nice addition to the sandwich. The onion ring on top was a huge bonus and the fries were perfection, possibly the star of the show. I'd highly recommend if you are in the area. We hope to be able to come back another time soon.

I decided it'd be cool after Toronto instead of going the same way back to go up east-northeast and come back into the US from the Thousands Islands Bridge to see something different. We arrived in Kingston at dinnertime hungry but unsure what to eat. I looked on Yelp after parking in downtown, but was still unsure. My girlfriend & I needed to use restroom and popped in a hotel. We asked the front desk recommendations. She recommended Dianne's very close walk. We ate outside. It was balmy for Kingston in early June with temps in the 70's F around 8 PM; their average high temp in early June is only upper 60's F (around 20 C). Our server was friendly. She said people are enjoying the first really warm evening of the season. We both got their fish n' chips. It's an Alaskan Pacific haddock as opposed to cod or others used. This is superior to other fish n' chips I've had. This is delicious. Fries were good too, but the fish was the real star and about the best fried fish I've had.

Since we're not locals in the area, we opted for the poutine then my daughter opted for the fish taco. Her food was actually good but rather a very small serving. Either that, or we're used to American-sized servings. The poutine we had was the seafood type since we figured out, they should have amazing seafood since we're near water. Flavor-wise, I think they needed more. The sauce that came with it did not seem to give justice to the dish. Nice location though. And service was good. Food, unfortunately, felt short of my expectations.
