Picking up a dinner for two for $8.99 from the drive-thru.
    Daniel B.

I'm a bit surprised at all the one-star reviews for this KFC location. My recent experience here wasn't that bad. There are two KFC locations in High Point, this one on South Main and another on North Main. My dad prefers this location on South Main over the one on North Main because he thinks the chicken here tastes better. He told me he thinks the chicken at the North Main location is sometimes overcooked and/or has been sitting out for too long. It's been a while since I've had food from the North Main location so I haven't been able to verify for myself. I came to this location recently because the place we originally wanted to pick up lunch from was unexpectedly closed and my dad had received some coupons in the mail from KFC. He used the coupon for "Dinner for Two" for $8.99. We used the drive-thru and had no issues. Service was quick and we got exactly what we came for. This was on a Saturday afternoon. The Dinner for Two came with a box of chicken and biscuits and four sides plus two individually-wrapped sporks and napkins. Inside the box was five pieces of chicken (drumstick, thigh, wing, breast) and two biscuits. The sides were coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy (we doubled up on each). The fried chicken was good. It was nice and crispy, and juicy and tender. My wife made the observation that KFC's chicken has broken bones. We noticed the chicken bones at both this location and a location in Atlanta we tried a few months prior were broken. We wonder why that is. I thought the biscuits were a little dry. The staff at this location didn't include any condiments, but we didn't ask for any either. At the aforementioned Atlanta location, they included packets of KFC honey sauce and hot sauce by default. My dad used some butter he had at home to butter his biscuit. The sides were delicious. I'm a fan of both KFC's slaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. They both just really hit the spot. These are classic, yummy, fast food sides. I recommend them. I'd come back to this location.

She made sure that we had fresh chicken for our family meal once the hot wings were done as well.

Hangry Joe's was a solid stop for a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I found the chicken to be…read morereally crispy, and the customizable spice levels meant that everyone could get their own version of a kick when they eat it. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the medium heat level. I personally didn't find it overly spicy, so it's a good choice if you enjoy some heat without it becoming overwhelming. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and made for a satisfying sandwich. The fries were just as nice and crispy, and their hangry sauce (rich, buttery, a hint of vinegar and pepper) paired well with my sandwich and fries. One thing I appreciated was how quickly the food came out. Even during a busy time, the service was efficient, making it an easy place to stop when you're looking for a quick meal.

I have to start with what the guy at the counter "Sean" asked me before I ordered: "Are you…read moreplanning on working out after this?" I laughed and said, "After I eat the sandwich?" He just smiled. At the time, I had no clue what he meant...until I watched them making my Spicy Soy Garlic Sando. That's when it hit me. This thing wasn't a sandwich--it was a full-body workout disguised as lunch! It was HUGE! Thick, fresh, juicy chicken with an incredible spicy soy garlic flavor that had just the right amount of heat. Every bite was crispy, messy, and absolutely worth it. And those waffle fries? Perfectly seasoned, hot, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and impossible to stop eating. Big shoutout to Sean, the assistant manager, for being professional and genuinely friendly. He came by to check on me and made sure everything was good, which says a lot about the customer service. The restaurant was also spotless, spacious, and had a great atmosphere. If you're hungry, don't come here playing around. Come with an appetite...and maybe stretch beforehand because that sandwich is no joke! I'll definitely be back.

Hey family. Happy Saturday! I tried Miss Johnnie Mae's a while back and I'm happy to report that I…read moreliked it much better than when I tried it prior. My initial introduction was when they were located in Stock and Grain Food Hall. I had wanted to try them for a while and luckily I was invited to a Yelp Event where I was able to sample some items. In all fairness, I absolutely loved the service but maybe it was an off night but at the time I wasn't a fan. But as some months passed, they are no longer in Stock and Grain but in a food truck in High Point. I highly suggest following their Facebook page for dates and times where you can catch them. The service was still wonderful and the food was really good. The sweet potato cornbread is one of my favs and the chicken wings and catfish bites were fried to perfection. I love collard greens but do understand, everyone makes them differently. My family is from eastern NC so we make ours savory, theirs have a little sweetness to it. I don't mind it but this time around was so much better, it was very well balanced. The mac and cheese was delicious as well. Although not pictured, do check out their Russian tea drink. I felt very nostalgic and I have no other words but it was great. I try to savor it when I get some. I wish he sold them in half gallon jugs because I would buy it. That's how good it is. They have other items like Rasta pasta, oxtails, pork chops, and turkey wings. I can't wait to come back and try more food. Give them a follow and check them out. You won't be disappointed.

They were absolutely incredible (in no particular order because they were all perfect): Lemon pepper wings: Huge, seasoned and prepared perfectly! Four large wings per order. Yams: Incredible, I haven't had yams in years and really enjoyed them. Mac and Cheese: Very, very good, enjoyed. Sweet potato cornbread: Incredible as well, sweet and moist. We will make it a point to visit more frequently!
