These burgers are a bit pricey for their size but are loaded up with amazing, unique ingredients that definitely make this place stand out. Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, honestly. Would have been nice if we could have specified how we wanted the burgers cooked but that's apparently a restriction put on all Scottish restaurants. The restaurant itself is very small, limited seating so might be best to take out!

I finally tried out El Perro Negro's burger at the Brew Dog pop up recently and have to say, it was…read moredefinitely in my top 5 burgers of all time. (My previous review is for a wing pop up he did). Thanks to Austen, Trudie, Pammi & Ally, I had the inside scoop of which burger to order - they all said the Top Dog was the best. I was a little confused as I assumed that was a hot dog but nope, it's a burger. What's in it? Beef patty, double bacon, bone marrow, Roquefort butter, caramelized onion and black truffle mayo on the side. And it came with chips. There was a bit of a wait but we were drinking with friends so weren't too bothered. The burgers were nicely presented on a tray with the chips in a pot. Excellent chips and I really liked the black truffle mayo. The burger was obviously the highlight though - it was totally delicious. I actually don't eat too many beef burgers these days as I find a lot of them are overcooked and bland but this was heaven - perfectly cooked meat (rare) and the Roquefort was just the perfect match as it really gave the burger a punch. The combination of flavours was just perfect for me and I really enjoyed it. I've had some good burgers in my time and I really do mean it when I say this is right up there at the top. My only negative comment is really the pricing - £13.50 for a burger and chips is pretty hefty but I can also understand why as this is a special pop up burger which tastes amazing and obviously uses quality product. For me, I wouldn't have this burger every day but as a special occasion treat, hell yes.

The fact that it is always busy, but you don't wait long to be served or to receive your food, is always a good sign in itself. Furthermore, the takeaway is a firm favorite among the locals aswell as those from outside Pollockshields, which is always another good sign. Whenever I'm in Pollockshields for a bit of Asian grocery shopping, I always make the now customary visit here. There are no seats, but the food is as authentic Pakistani as you will see. This combined with excellent, polite service and excellent food make this place so popular. A favourite is the samosas - triangular pastries stuffed with seasoned lamb mince and potatoes. The all important mince-potato ratio is perfect and these never fail to disappoint. Or you can try the Chapli Kebab - traditional patties which are made from ground seasoned mince, picture a large flattened burger. Slightly spicy, but delicious and very filling. The Chicken Hut Pollockshields, not to be confused for the Chicken Hut in Govanhill, also invented the kebab roll - a Seekh Kebab completely wrapped in a strip of home made pastry before being baked in the oven. The result is amazing, especially with some kebab or mint yoghurt sauce! Another of my favourites is the chicken fillet burger. This simple item is so often overlooked with so many other takeaways, not only in Glasgow but in Scotland, as they tend to use the pre made frozen chicken burgers, rather than preparing a fresh chicken breast fillet. These never disappoint either and the chicken fillet burgers are very morish. I always get mine with salad, mayonnaise a touch of ketchup and a cheese slice. I have not tried the pizzas or the curries, because the samosas and kebabs always take priority! They also do wraps, hoagies, onion rings, and other standard takeaway munch. I would honestly go as far as suggesting that this is the best takeaway I have been to in Pollockshields, if not the wider Glasgow area. The food is very simple but delicious, and the prices are also very modest. 2 Chapli kebabs, 2 seekh kebab rolls and 2 samosas will cost around £6, including sauce and salad. Well worth every penny. So if you're ever in the area, try it.

Inexplicably not reviewed until now, happy to spread the shaheds message. I have recently moved to…read morethis area after 28 years in pollokshields,a place not short of places to eat, especially curry,i quickly rooted out shaheds ( in pollokshaws rd) as being head and shoulders above the rest, quality, and quantity of meat was consistently good,no chewy lamb appearing ,nice tender chicken, sauces were not the usual generic " Glasgow curry" style i.e. blended onions, tomatoes with a few bits added at end, each dish tasted different. Coupled with the fact that the place was immaculately clean, and the service was unfailingly personal, cheerful, pleasant whether delivered or bought in shop. I existed on the set meals for some time, keeping half for next day,i don't get anywhere near the amount of takeaways that I did then, but it's good to have options when that urge consumes you,the unmistakable craving for something so tasty that only a really good curry will do,and its my opinion, based on considerable experiience thst small outlets like this are far superior than actual restaurants. They also do excellent kebabs, burgers, real chicken fillet I and lots of it,great chips, pizzas which I can't comment on. So,having lived here for 9 months, why did I not know that a shaheds was 5 mins from my house,i do now. First delivery was the hilariously titled set meal for one,see photo, 10.50 includes poppadum, spiced onion, any curry,,rice or Nan,mixed pakora as pictured, hefty portion with plenty of chicken, not padded out with veg as is common, curry which must have had 2 chicken fillets in it,so much, delivered with the cheery ,and prompt, service that I know from old, same in shop,on phone, nice people, good food, good price, yelpers must know about this,I've made it my business to ensure they do as although I'm a newbie helper, that's what yelp seem,to me,to be about, local knowledge shared to make it easier for locals to find what they are after, for me,i think a spicy chicken fillet burger might be next up,saw one getting grilled the other day, looks fabulous. Wonder what im going to find next time i venture south on the 38 bus

I called back at 4:50, but had to call no less than 13 times in a row before someone picked up. Was told it was out with the driver. I asked what sort of compensation they would provide and the same disinterested young lady said '50% off I guess'? I decided to make myself some dinner at home (which in retrospect I should've done in the first place) and decide to wait to see how long it would actually take. At 5:30 I had to leave for the evening, and sure enough at 5:35 the driver called saying he was there. I have ordered once before and there was no delivery issue but the food tasted like shoes. I only ordered this time in the hopes of a more flavourful cheap meal. Alas, it was not meant to be.
