I ordered extra crispy chicken legs and the meat was a little dry. The cashier also forgot to give me a plastic knife and spoon (how else can I eat my mashed potatoes or spread butter on my biscuit). My mistake. What was I thinking? Other visits to KFC have been OK at best but this one wins. Worst KFC experience. The new app that you have to update at every use already makes it annoying. No option to pick up your order through the drive thru. Then I ask if I can when I announce my arrival. She didn't make the order yet, no other customers around, she tells me that I have to come in to get my food. I asked why?. That's the rule she said. I had to go park, went in, nobody there but a pudgy manager. He tells me again it's the rule. Now KFC, show me the darn rule, where you instructed people not to get their food in the drive thru, but have to walk in to get it. If not fire everyone one person at this location and show them you do care about customers. These people are the reason why you don't make money in these locations. Kentucky Fried Chicken - KFC - Elgin West Location/Layout - 4/10: Easily visible from Randall Road, the location is wedged in the Northwest corner of the Brewster Creek Shopping Center Parking lot. The angle of the location and bizarre parking lot and drive through layout take a little getting used to and can be challenging especially with any snow. There is ample eating room inside although the interior always has debris on tables and especially around the fountain area, which is especially odd since it is directly next to the order/cooking area and in eye shot of all employees. Service - 3.5/10: The order takers are usually friendly and quick but the cooking and preparation area is always a miss. There has never been a time that I have visited were all food is ready; they are always waiting on something, whether it be a side item or a style of chicken and therefore can not complete orders quickly. This always causes chaos in the food prep and especially drive through area. It also leads to massive delays in getting orders complete. Food - 3.5/10: Due to the issues described above with food always running low you end up with partial orders, or one person have a complete order while the others wait, or a massive wait while most of your order sits getting cold in bags. Additionally, there is always one style of chicken, which by some chance of fate is always the one that I order that has been sitting under the heat lamp for hours and is now officially chicken jerky. Overall Experience - 4/10: KFC has always been an easy pick up on busy nights for dinner especially for a larger crowd when we are traveling. They are also located in front of Target which makes a quick dinner after hitting Target for a couple essentials an easy trip. Unfortunately, you are always risking quality and service but more especially time when visiting this location. Went here last week to pickup dinner for the family. The workers were challenged by some computer problem that prevented orders from being displayed on their screens. One of the workers was on the phone with the Help Desk while they worked the problem. I was initially impressed how they kept things going during the technical problem. However, through all this, the individual who was filling orders had an apple earbud headphone in one ear and was clearly listening to music on the job. Due to the Technical problems, he had to confirm the orders verbally. However, since he was half listening to music, everyone had to repeat their orders over and over. I received my chicken dripping in oil that tasted like it sat out for days then fried again to reuse,the breading was soggy and dark, it was just disgusting! I was so disappointed with this purchase! The biscuits had a funny taste and the mac and cheese had pieces of what looked like burnt cheese mixed in. The only thing that they didn't mess up were the wedges! I wasted 20 dollars on garbage! Went today to this KFC for a quick pick up dinner. As soon as I got to the window I placed one order, before I could even add the rest the guy said ok, is that all. I responded by saying, "No, is that coming with mashed potatoes or something else?" He said "yes,potatoes" I said "ok, and no, I still have something else to order." I then proceeded with my order and went to the window. Once I got to the window I paid, and the same man was giving the drinks, the bag of food, and change at the same time. Honestly the overall experience felt really rushed. It would've been one thing if there were cars behind me, but front or me, or a ton in the parking lot. There was literally 3 cars in the parking lot, which I'd have to assume there was staff there that drove to work. And one car behind me. Then I get home with the food and it looks like everything was slapped together, my sandwich rapper wasn't even fully closed. The potato wedges looked and tasted like they were reheated, and there was a hair in my sons food. Overall not great at all. I now have to put something together for my son to eat, which defeats the purpose of having gone to the drive through in the first place. What's the overall worst factor is my kid found the hair. Absolutely horrible. Management is terrible. I asked for a refund for terrible food I couldn't eat and brought it back and still gave me the worse customer service ever. No Refund. They need to be reported and shut down. Food tasted like chemicals and old, sticking, dirty and bitter grease. I will be sure to call the health department, because it's not SAFE!
