We were here once right when they opened and I didnt remember much and we have been meaning to come back. We got take out, ordering was super easy on Toast (Love Toast). We ordered online from across the street at Target and were given a pick up time of 10 minutes. I figured it may not take that long so after about 5 minutes we went over and it was ready. Super easy, super fast! My wife got Al Pastor tacos with cilantro and onion and I got an Al Pastor torta meal with rice and beans. Everything was fresh and tasted great, good portion sizes and good prices. Their Salsa verde is very unique, very fresh tasting, we liked it alot. Hidden little gem in Elgin super clean and not crowded at all. When you walk in menu is right on the top with all their specials, and you order and have a sit. I tried the asada burrito and order a side of chips. They have 5 different salsa and all of them were great. The burrito was ok, not much meat on it and small compare to other places I have tried. They also sell liquor and beer to accompany your meal if that is what you prefer. They have tons of Mexican soda and your regular horchata, Jamaica waters. Food is generally good here, and I am a regular at this restaurant. But I just took a bite of my steak burrito and found a pretty big piece of bone in there (circled in red). I bit into it and it was painful. Quite disappointing. The rest of the burrito was fine and tasty. read more

We are so glad there's a new, fast casual Mexican place in the neighborhood. We have never eaten inside, but have done take out many times. It's quick, delicious and priced well. My go to is the shrimp tacos. I love the sauce that they use for it. Cool new spot in a busy strip mall...The menu is large. There are tacos, burritos, sandwiches, tostadas, and more. You pick your item and then pick the protein. The cashier was so friendly, very welcoming and patient when explaining all that they have. They have agua frescas and horchata to go for $3.75. That is a fun option. I ordered a single tostada, keep it vegetarian. It was $3.99 plus tax. For keeping it veggie, I was disappointed that there was only one slice of avocado. It also did not have much flavor. Salt is needed for sure and salsa was a must. I asked for green salsa. I receive two and a fork and napkin in a separate bag, stapled to keep that all separate from the warm food. The food was tasty, however the portion was very small. The carne asada taco had barely any meat in it. I can literally count 5 pieces of meat in taco, 6 pieces of shredded lettuce, and 4 pieces of tomato. Very disappointing. It will be a desparate day before I order from them again. Severely disappointed... was looking forward to tryin a new place & based on reviews chose this. I ordered torta special & burrito special. Both come with a drink which I waited to grab until the meals were done so drink would still be cold. The cashier says to me as I grab the first one... uhm it's only one drink with each meal... yeah?? Ok? And I've only gotten one. She then proceeds to LOOK in my bag to verify I'm telling the truth. lol THAT was tacky & pissed me off.... Anyway- Then for my burrito I said no lettuce or tomato.... Customer service here on 1/17/26 at 12pm was completely terrible. First off, we ordered 3 meals and they messed up one out of three orders and then we asked for both red and green salsa and they proceeded to only give us 3 green salsas. I attempted to ask for some red salsa and they wanted to charge me for it. Mind you they only gave enough salsa to be begin with for 1 meal and I got three meals. Went home and found a hair in my loaded fries and I called them and they didn't apologize, they asked for a photo of the hair and proceeded to ask me to drive back to their location and bring it back in for proof that there was hair in the food before issuing me a refund. Upon arrival, no communication and no apology for the inconvenience or anything. Everyone working there just stared at me and grabbed the food from me and grabbed the hair from the food and examined it for a few minutes and then just gave me a receipt stating a refund for that one meal would be issued. This location sucks so bad. The one in rolling meadows is much better, they don't mess up the order and they are kind and pay attention to detail. I advise everyone to not get food from this location. Take the extra drive to get better service. read more

The restaurant is new and clean, a nice casual environment with a good amount of seating. Staff was friendly and highly focused on quality. Finally, a restaurant that gives more than a ramekin of salsa with an order of chips! The veggie burrito was elevated with fresh ingredients, including green leaf lettuce! Jan 31, 2025 Never order from this place. We ordered food for delivery totaling over $40. They use Uber drivers to deliver the food...in which we never received. Got a text that food was delivered but we have ring security and no evidence of delivery. Called Tacos Jerez and they said they cannot do anything as they use Uber service and it was up to us to contact the driver. We did text the driver but since this was not done through our Uber app, no one could help us. Taco Jerez never apologized or offered any help or compensation. Extremely disappointed with this place, such a scam for them to take our $ and not get anything in return. We will certainly tell all our friends and neighbors to stay away. Had to give one star to post review but actually ZERO stars is more like it! read more

Tacos had little to no meat.. what did not help was the rice and beans. We all know rice and beans are cheap as is - but seems like they just gave me their leftovers of throughout the day. 0/10. Taste wise, I would rate it a 3/10. I've had bland tacos with no flavors that I would chose over this place, even Taco Bell.. Never again. They are cheap, skimp, and just not worth it. My significant other and I have been waiting patiently for this place to open near us to try. Absolutely!!! Amazing!!!! I had the Birria Torta with the Consume and it was just mouth watering, perfectly seasoned and lots of cheesy goodness. He had the California Burrito made with steak and a side of beans and rice, the burrito was delicious as well. It's a cute small place to go and get some good tacos.
