My daughter is getting married next year and wanted to use parts of my wedding dress to make a…read morereception dress for herself. Unfortunately, my dress was never cleaned or preserved after my wedding and after 30+ years had terrible stains. We decided to take a chance and try to have it cleaned to at least use some parts of the dress. I found Oceanside Cleaners and had a few chats with Clare about what could be tried. To say I am shocked would be an understatement. They did an amazing job, even trying a second time on a few of the more stubborn stains to basically make this dress from 1993 almost look new again! We have scheduled time with their seamstress later this month to make the changes my daughter wants for her dress! Can't recommend them enough, this job was priceless for us but also very reasonable for the work done!

They quoted me 2 days and $10, but told me it would likely be done overnight and I could come check the next day. Next day, not done- no problem, it was a maybe. Next day, still not done. They said it was still a little dirty and they wanted to wash it again. Peeved, but understandable. They said they would text me when it was ready. Text never came. I went back in the next day and it was ready. Upcharged to $17 I assume some of the pieces came off in what must have a been anything but gentle wash. Again, understandable- it's homemade and accidents happen. But instead of telling me, they attempted to fix it, and in doing so, messed up the blanket even more. Pieces were sewn back on. Poorly. Many were not placed back where they came from, and because they were sewn on with a machine, many of the crochet stitches became warped. Some spots were sewn on so poorly that the thread was actually loose. Some pieces that were originally white came back gray, and this had been washed before so I know nothing bled colors. In conclusion: they did not do as I asked, did not tell me it had been damaged, and tried to repair it in such a way that they made it worse.

I didn't complain at the time because frankly didn't want to deal with what I assumed would be a hassle. However recently they completely ruined an expensive Ann Taylor skirt which had absolutely nothing wrong - after filling out a claim form and repeatedly stopping in the store as well as calling no ever called back or made any attempt to make it right after repeated promises by employees. This process went on for several months and I would never recommend them after that horrendous customer service run around experience. Lori
