On Friday I buy the last 3.5 yards of material from them, which unfortunately I didn't need. On Monday I want to return it and they tell me that it's 3.5 yards and I can't return it, although these were the last 3.5 yards that were in stock. They didn't return my money. Wow I needed some specialty waterproof foam for a patio project, I had run out, so I brought a piece of it in and the man helping me, Demitrius, knew exactly what I needed, was very knowledgeable about his products, was careful not to give me the wrong thing, and had me check it out before cutting it. Then, I needed some other foam for another project, and he showed me the smaller pieces that are the end of the blocks, and I thought those would be perfect for my project, since it's my own little backyard project.. and it ended up saving me money. So I went in for specialty foam and a big piece of the regular foam topper, and it was less than 15 bucks so that's a crazy good price. They have a customer area so you don't feel like you're intruding on a warehouse, and lots of samples to look at, I want to go back to get some of the patio covering plastic fabric stuff. they also have staples, thread, racks, and those pin things that you put into chairs sometimes to make them look fancy.. You can probably find what you need for your upholstery projects- oh and I saw they had garment leather for a really good deal if you know leather.. Shout out to demitrus for being patient with me because I don't really know what I'm doing and he was very patient and kind. And saving money was nice too read more

Beware! Other reviews of this place are correct. Customer service is no sub par, it's outright horrible! I went in and new exactly what I wanted, ordered it, went to pay, and the entire time I was there, they acted like I was bothering them. Also, when I went to get my invoice, the guys asks, "Do you have an account here?" I said, "No, I don't need an account, thanks." The guy says, "I didn't ask if you need one, I asked if you have one." Really, what a douchebag! I won't be back. They're close to work, but I'd rather drive a little farther. Furthermore, they have a weird system there. You park, go inside, and when you speak to one of the customer service reps (one of three guys standing around) they call someone else to help you. Than you talk with this person (person 2). Person number 2 and you decide what you need. Person 2 writes down what you need on a piece of paper and takes it to Person 1 (the original customer service guy.) Person 1 is extremely disinterested in you as a customer, and seems irritated with person 2. Person 1 than fumbles with a calculator to see how much you owe. Person 1's math skills were as good as his customer service skills, I about took the calculator and did the calculations myself. Person 1 than tells you to go to the window to pay. It's like buying lumber and jumping through the hoops at Dixieline, except the guys here have worse customer service and don't speak very good English. read more

I stopped in there today and had the unfortunate experience with talking with the manager. After waiting in the lobby area with the employees pretending I wasn't even there, the manager asked if he could help me. After explaining I was looking for some awning material and was unsure with which fabric to choose, he simply replied I should talk to an upholster and walked away. He said there are signs, "see here" that explain retail customers are not there favorite evidently. I demanded to look at some samples and he picked up a brochure from the ground, gave it to me and again walked away. Now I was irritated at being so rudely disrespected. I asked for price and he said sure he was going to charge me retail, then gave me a sky high price. These guys are rude and all potential customers should know about it. I was at their shop last week with my Grandma who sews a lot... she needed fabrics of a variety of types. They didn't have what she wanted so she asked to order it. Then a week later it arrived. Wrong product. Fine... people makes mistakes. Then it went downhill from there. Their attitude was terrrible. Greg or Ron (don't remember his name) was nice but kind of fake nice so i'm not sure. Ultimately, they didn't have enough fabric when i tried to get more. They hardly had any and said oh you must order it and wait and wait or pay. Where i live in LA you don't see this BS treatment. I found them while looking for upholstery foam. They had excellent quality products at reasonable price. It is a wholesale distributor that does some retail business and was very helpful with my small purchase. If you do your research ahead of time and know what you want you can get a better quality product for a better price. It is not a retail shop where they walk you through the process. They are a wholesale distributor that was very helpful with my retail purchase. If you're expecting a wholesale distributor to provide the same service as a retail store it may have a different experience. I've found wholesale distributors to be an excellent source of better quality products versus big box stores and at a good price. You do need to do your research ahead of time and not take up their time with questions. read more

I was hesitant to go after reading the negative reviews here but I had a pleasant experience. I braced myself and went in, and the young man at the front welcomed me. Another gentleman named Rocky came over as well. I explained that I needed just a little bit of foam material for a back rest. I was able to choose something from a scrap pile and got a great price. I was impressed by the amount of fabric and other materials they had in stock, and may be back for some fabric to make a sun shade. read more

This place has gone downhill really Fast.... We spend at least $100,000 a year in Fabric. Used to have a reliable Rep. John Ruffing, Carrie, Greg, Rocky, Maria, Ernie, Chi. dropped the ball. failed fabric. Time to move on from these people. read more

I gave them two stars inslead of one because I got what I wanted, however the customer service is poor, just a lack of wanting to help at all. Needs a little management training? The place is mostly for the trades, and I am used to that "get it done quick" counter attitude at trade only suppliers, but there is usually an underlying helpful attitude. Not much here. All in all I will go back, because there are very few suppliers in San Diego for foam. read more

I have been in the upholstery business for 25 years and tried many different vendors, stores, upholstery supplies outlets and Keystone is by far the best. Should have looked at the reviews before we stopped by. I was looking for some grommets for a product my daughter is working on. They had 3 different sized products marked #0 (which is supposed to be an industry standard) and the man who was helping us was somewhat annoyed and couldn't explain the difference. We are also developing a few products for our own company (baby safety) that require mesh fabric. Before we could even ask about that, the guy told us we couldn't look around at their stock for insurance reasons. When I asked how people figure out what they want he said that their customers know what they want. I'm also part of a product development group at my coworking space. DO NOT buy anything from this place. I called this morning and asked if they had a particular item,. They said "yes" and gave me a price. I said I would drive down from Escondido to pick it up. They said ok. When I got there after waiting fro one custemer service person to assist 5 custmers I finally got to the counter 20 minutes later...now 50 minutes since I left my house. They then told me they did NOT carry the item and TOLD ME I called the wrong place. I said "really?" And proceeded to show them my cell phone and THEIR number I called 1 hour earlier. What a joke !! Did not have the item in stock, then quoted me 3 times the price they gave me on the phone. Now, almost 2 hours since I left to go down there I am back home. Keyston Bros has THE WORST customer service and procedures I have seen in a while.. DO NOT buy anything from these fools ! read more
