I actually had 3 other turf companies come quote me before Turf Worx came out. I thought I was set on another company and then George showed up right on time as we scheduled and I walked him to my back yard to get the quote over with. From the second George sees my back yard (turf-less) he immediately starts praising the other stone work I did do on my retaining wall and fire pit. We end up turning my fire pit on at 7am and talking for 20 minutes on a personal level before we even start talking turf. We go through the yard and George gives his opinion on how to grade the yard, what we can do to maximize the space and what he recommends turf wise. The minute he left I knew I was going with him and the team. We tentatively scheduled the work for a week and a half later and when the day came, they showed up early and immediately got to work. After the first day the yard was graded and the majority of the turf was down. We ran into some issues as all projects inevitably have. First thing day two, George and I walk the yard and I point out my issues and immediately he presents options of how to remedy. Within an hour the issue was resolved and the other half of the team was finished laying down turf. They laid sand, Zeolite for my dogs and brushed the turf. Can't say enough about Steve & Turfworx's. I spoke with several companies and got several quotes before finding Turfworx's. Found out Steve just opened up Turfworx on his own and that he was a VP for one of the larger Turf company's, probably a company you have already spoke too. So he knows the business and what he's doing. What makes Turfworx different is that Turfworx's is a wholesaler, open to the public. He carries several brands and styles of turf. You can buy the turf & all install materials from him and install yourself, higher your own installers or have Steve line you up with a landscape contractor to do your install. I chose to use a referred installer that Steve has worked with in the past. Again that was another home run! Between working with Turfworx's @ the install contractor, I got a better product & installed for cheaper then my other quotes. BTW the installers I used also get hired by a few of the other "Big Name Turf Co". Difference is I paid them, not the turf company's marked up price.
