The line was leading to a table where they were checking bags before walking past the security guard who had a metal detector wand. None of us had any bags on us so she turned to ask the security guard if we needed to stop at the table or if it's 2 separate lines. Before she could even say anything he snapped at her to get back in line. She backed up a step and apologized immediately and he responded with saying "Patience is a virtue." But his tone sounded so disgusted and intimidating. This security guard needs to be let go after seeing so many other people seemingly have the same experience with him. He was short, about 5'7. Dark hair pulled back in a ponytail with a hat on turned backwards. This interaction happened around 7 pm right as the show was starting on 09/25/2026. I wish this was the extent of our interactions with him. During the show the drag kings and queens were mocking Charlie Kirk and other republican politicians. That's clearly why we were all here and this security guard throughout the show was walking past us and monitoring us. Every time he passed us he looked super pissed off, like he wasn't happy with the show that was being put on. This was further proven to us when we left the show after it ended. We were waiting around the corner on the curb for our designated driver to pick us up. The same friend from before leaned down on the step above the curb and the security guard came out and told her to move because the door would swing open. But my friend was only leaning against the very edge of that step where there was a railing so the door wouldn't have come close enough to hit her. Then the security guard asked us in an extremely snarky tone if we enjoyed the... "thing." We said we did and he just looked pissed off. Then he went inside and slammed the door open on purpose and said in another snarky tone, "See! I told you so!" Other than that, we loved the show!! The drinks were super bomb and the venue seemed cozy. It was our first time at a drag show and we tried to have fun despite the nasty attitude of the short misogynistic predatory security guard.

If one of your favorite bands comes here, you will have an amazing, close and personal experience! The drinks are good, fairly reasonably priced. It is an STG location, so the service is good and consistent! The Showbox is one of those Seattle venues where the atmosphere is almost as memorable as the show itself. The historic architecture gives the space a distinctive character, while the interior combines old-school concert-hall charm with a gritty, intimate rock-and-roll aesthetic. The exposed brick, high ceilings, dark finishes, and vintage details create a setting that feels authentic rather than overly polished. What really makes The Showbox special, though, is its size. It is large enough to accommodate a great crowd but small enough that you never feel disconnected from the performance. There is an intimacy to the room that makes even a larger touring act feel like they are playing a much more personal show. The sound quality is another major highlight. The relatively compact layout means the music feels immediate and powerful without losing the clarity of the instruments or vocals. You can actually hear and experience the performance rather than simply watching it from a distance. Whether you're standing near the stage or farther back in the venue, the acoustics help create a consistently immersive experience. Overall, The Showbox is a fantastic place to see live music. The unique architecture and decor give it plenty of personality, while the smaller footprint, strong acoustics, and close proximity to the stage create the kind of concert experience that larger arenas simply can't replicate. It feels like a true Seattle institution--and exactly what a great live music venue should be.

Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. I LOVE Keys on Main! If I could give it 10 stars I would :) If you think piano bars aren't your "thing", it's because you've never been to Keys on Main! I love piano bars and have been to clubs all over the country, but nothing comes close to the show I saw on Friday and Saturday night. These guys can play just about anything--Billy Joel! Michael Jackson! Elton John! Snoop Dogg! Rihanna! Britney! Disney!-- and the level of talent is just amazing. Best of all, they always make the audience part of the show-they're the ones calling the shots, after all. Loved watching them bring people up on stage and sing them the funny and sometimes raunchy songs piano bars are famous for. I already have a friend in mind that I will be bringing here on her birthday for that specific reason! My favorite thing about this places is that it is one of those rare spots that really truly does offer something for everybody. There was such a diverse mix of people in there this weekend--bachelorette parties, older couples out on the town, a couple rowdy birthday parties, groups of the usual Queen Anne young single people--and every person in there looked like they were having the time of their life. When you think about it, that's not something you see very often! Unlike Pesos and Ozzies, which can get pretty fratty/clubby on the weekends, Keys on Main offers REAL entertainment and a chance to enjoy some live music, hang out with friends, and have a drink without getting my leg humped by some douchebag with a popped collar and a backwards baseball cap. WIN! This spot is one of Queen Anne's newest additions and offers something for everyone: every time I'm there I see a new mix of people, from bachelor/ette parties to girl's nights out to locals just grabbing a beer, this is an awesome spot for just about anyone. The show is all-request so they're always playing music the crowd wants to hear, and it's almost impossible not to have a good time. Just look around the room and you'll see people dancing, playfully "battling" over the music, eating yummy food (not just standard bar fare: try the steak, white truffle mac and cheese or the lemon pepper chicken) and singing along at the top of their lungs. Fridays and Saturdays are a party! The performers are insanely talented and so funny--they work hard and earn every dollar they make in tips! Great for groups, but could also be really fun for a date, however be warned: it's LOUD so don't expect to be able to catch up over dinner here, at least not once the show starts (eat there before 8:30 and you'll be fine)! They don't charge cover like Chopstix used to, which is awesome, so it can be an all-night destination or just a stop on the party train. Drinks are reasonably priced and well-made, and the service has always been good for me. Happy hour every day from 6-7:30 ($4 any drink) and ladies night on Thursday ($3 any drink)--yayuh. A must-go for anyone visiting from out of town...or heck, just anyone! read more

Let me start by saying that I'd been to this piano bar before it became Keys on Main, when it was still called Chopsticks and it was awful, bad service, bad greasy food, creepy entertainers. I was actually dreading coming here but was totally surprised when I walked in. I didn't even recognize the place. You can't beat the location in Lower Queen Anne, right around the corner from lots of other bars and restaurants. What makes this place unique is obviously the live piano show, where two piano players sit across from each other and play/sing audience requests all night.Players are super funny and extremely talented! I've been to piano bars before, both locally (Chopsticks in Seattle and Everett) and in other parts of the country and I can honestly say that Keys on Main put on the best show I've ever seen. I'm very picky about my live music and the production value here is so high (lights-drums-mixing-electric guitars-you-name-it)...SO much better than some old fart plinking out blah jazz standards or god forbid creepily attempting "Closer" by nine inch nails (yes this happened when I came to Chopsticks three years ago. all i can say is ew haha) The food was much better than I expected, a big improvement on what the old place had to offer. My girlfriends and I shared the mac and cheese (delish) and the spinach artichoke dip and I would definitely order them both again. Drink service was a little slow but they were slammed so I can get over that, plus our waitress was super sweet. Can't believe that they don't charge cover for a place like this with a show like that! I can't wait to come back read more

Was here last weekend for St. Patricks day and had a blast! We liked Chopstix, but we LOVE Keys on Main and my friends and I have declared it our new favorite place in Queen Anne, if not the whole city! The new club looks so much better and we really liked their new cocktail menu. Their greeter/doorperson recommended the "10 Cane Mojito" and she was right...it was awesome. The show was as great, if not better, as it always has been and we laughed and danced and sang all night. We even had some out of town friends with us that night who commented more than once on how cool the bar was and how they wished they had something like that where they're from (Arizona). I was susprised when I saw a review complaining about the service because our server was awesome, and quick. We were with a pretty big group of slighlty (ok more than slightly--it was St Paddys day!) intoxicated people and she still managed to understand our orders and get everything right, and fast. I think her name was Sarah? Anyway, go Sarah, if thats you. you rock girl! It can't be easy to work in a place that loud but she was great. If you come hungry, try the macaroni and cheese...not sure if it was the beer talking or if it was just plain delicious, but you need to give it a shot. We ordered seconds. Coming back here for a birthday party in April, can't wait! read more

I went on Saturday for my 22nd birthday and can say without a doubt we'll be back! We had a group of about 18 people and everyone in our party says they'll be going here again. The service was great, all of the staff was there to make sure we had a great night! We were seated in the VIP lounge and before the show started all of the piano players came and introduced themselves and let us know how the show works. The drinks were great and reasonably priced. They played everything! Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Journey, Bon Jovi, Sir Mix A Lot, Grease, Alicia Keys, Garth Brooks anything you could think of :) If you've never been check it out. Some of my friends said they weren't sure about a piano bar... but by the end of the night they all said that was one of the best nights we've had out. Plus the guys were all happy there was no cover charge! It was a great mix of people. We were all very formal for my birthday and didn't feel too dressed up but you could go in more causal and still fit right in. I loved Keys on Main, can't wait to go back! Special shout out the manager! She was fabulous and we even talked her into playing for us. She truly made it a fantastic evening! read more

Very fun. The piano players are very talented and seem to know about every song, I love dueling piano and these guys are about the best show I've seen. I think they are WAY better then the cheesier Chopsticks show that they replaced! I saw that they are doing karaoke Sunday -Wednesday so I went last night. It was not crowded, so I got to sing a bunch. The sound system is great and everyone is friendly, it was a blast. They have every song... Computerized. Cool. Very cool place... And who can beat $1 drafts? I also thought it was very cool that the KJ didn't put herself into the rotation... We had to coaxed her to sing, how totally cool is that? And despite one negative review here on yelp about not getting service.... I had been in about 5 times since the change... The service has been awesome every time .... I have NEVER sat with an empty glass and I have been there when the place is packed with batchlorette parties or college grads... It can be a hoppin place and the staff are totally on top of it! They don't serve food however... So stop by pagliachi's and grab a slice to bring with you... Or call and have a pizza delivered to your table, yep, they will do it! :) read more

Came here on a really busy Saturday last weekend and had a great time! We walked by with a group of friends and were drawn in because we saw a sign stating they no longer charge cover! The show is amazing of course, but the food and drinks were surprisingly good for what used to be a gross dive bar (Chopstix). I was really impressed by the changes they've made in their remodel and the bar looks beautiful! The bartender (Clay?) was quick and even though he was clearly very busy (there were probably about 200 people in the place that night) he was friendly and made great drinks for me and my friends. We showed up without a reservation--we won;t make that mistake again because it was PACKED when we got there--but their hostess was great and made a special effort to carve out space for the six of us right before the show started. I ordered the Kobe burger and my husband ordered Lemon Pepper chicken--both were excellent. Since we live just up the hill we will definitely be back, even if its just to eat dinner on an off-night! I started going to this place back when it was Chopstix, and I'm still in love with the dueling piano nights, so it loses one star for dropping that down to only two nights a week and replacing the other three nights with open mic and karaoke (if I want karaoke I will go to a karaoke bar). That aside, I easily spent $40 on tips for the piano players alone when I lived nearby. I'd go about once a month or once every two months with a friend or two, and if I had a friend who had never been, I made sure to mention it was their birthday. Best fun ever. I received many death threats from my friends as they stood up there. The players are amazing, and they EARN every dollar of those tips in terms of talent and interaction with the room. Tip: A couple songs they do best are Great Balls of Fire (Jerry Lee Lewis) and Do You Love Me Now That I Can Dance. You will shriek like the original fans as they slam on the ivories. And don't skip The Devil Went Down to Georgia, whatever you do. When "Johnny" starts playing, you get a real treat. What is it? Well, you'll just have to request it and find out. read more

My girlfriend had her birthday here a couple months ago and we decided to go back for St Patricks day on Saturday cause it was really fun when it was chopstix. We stopped by with two of our friends around 11 and the piano players were doing Dont Stop Believing with an electric guitar so naturally we had to go in. Bartenders were fast and drinks were reasonably priced. We decided to save the waitresses some trouble and just order our drinks from the bar, but even though we didn't have one, there was a girl who kept coming and checking in on us, refilling water, seeing if we needed anything which was pretty cool since they were super busy. The $7 cover was kind of a bummer at first, but totally worth it when you think about how its live entertainment and they can play whatever you want. We liked that they served Guinness (couldn't get it at Pesos WTF) and that we got a table for four right when we walked in...seemed like every seat was a good seat here. There were people in the VIP area and that looked cool, might have even sprung for it if it wasnt already occupied. Maybe next time. read more

I was so excited to review this place that I created a yelp account just to brag about them. I was just here for the first time and loved it! I'd never been to a dueling piano bar except for in Vegas, and this place completely BLEW THE VEGAS SHOWS OUT OF THE WATER. I know that sounds hard to believe, but you need to see it for yourself! We got there early for their happy hour ($4 any drink from 6-7:30) and ate dinner before the show, which meant we didn't have to pay the $7 cover, and we got a table for the start of the show which was nice cause it filled up fast once the show started. The drinks were strong, the service was friendly and other people in the bar seemed like they were having a lot of fun--everyone was singing, dancing, and laughing along with the show! When you really think about it, its unbelievable how talented the piano players must be because they can play literally anything that gets requested...I can't believe the range of music we heard that night, SO cool! read more

I've been going to Keys on Main on and off for several years now. Service from the bar has always been great for me - even if they are busy - and the drinks and entertainment have both been top notch! All the entertainers know more songs than I thought humanly possible and they keep constantly up to date on anything you might hear popping up new on the radio. Like everyone else says, it's a great place for a group party of any kind with tons of fun energy. Keep up the good work! read more

The drinks here are fantastic! This is a perfect spot to relax and hang out, and it's a place you can visit again and again. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can even request the staff to play your favorite songs on the piano, which adds a special touch. Absolutely loved the vibe of this place! read more

Sexist, racist, and totally homophobic jokes make this your dead Grandfather's favorite form of entertainment. No amount of piano-playing talent makes this insensitive show, boring atmosphere, and expensive bland drinks worth it. Don't go. read more

The talent is amazing. Unfortunately, it's deterrent is the obese women they bring on stage to twerk, expose themselves, and it just creates a seedy and disgusting environment. read more

During my Fall stay in Belltown this cool quaint spot was recommended to me based off of a set of…read morecriteria I asked from my bartender at another spot: dive-y, cocktails, preferably records/vinyl DJs, and cool vibes. The bartender said Screwdriver Bar. I looked it up, closed my tab, and walked over to Screwdriver Bar which was a short walk back to my hotel. Score! First off don't get confused. There is one (1) door attendant possibly for two venues?! I want to say there was a venue on top of this bar. Either way I saw Screwdriver Bar was downstairs so be sure you kinda know where you are going. Screwdriver Bar is (seemingly) free from a cover. I walked down the steps and entered a whole world of vinyl records, throw back artwork and memorabilia that filled the very top of the ceiling all the way down to the tables and floor. This spot made me feel welcomed right off the bat with laughter, people dancing, and a busy bar staff serving up all the drinks from tallboys to fancy hand shaken cocktails. I really enjoyed my time here when I visited. On the menu I thought I saw a dumpling type of food situation going on. I know I smelled good warm food smells but I did not have a chance to order anything (I ate somewhere else). Mostly locals here which made me feel good as the recommendation was spot on and the others here were all having a great time which was the vibe I needed during my stay in Belltown.

It was pretty packed on Friday or Saturday, can't quite remember which day I was there. I didn't order but nobody at the table had problems with service. The music was loud, and everyone was talking, yet a chill vibe, everyone just having a good time. I'd easily come back and I recommend.

There were just 3-4 other men in the bar (no ladies!) having a drink. I had a well drink and my companion had a cider. Each was poured nicely and were good. No complaints.
