Alleged Szechuan style shrimp
D H.

I've been a Key Wok regular for years. I love their crispy beef and fried chicken wings. However... In the middle of moving and eating on the floor on a stressful day, we placed an order and decided to try the Szechuan style shrimp. It was one of the worst things I've ever eaten, or tried to eat, really. You get six shrimp swimming in a bowl of onions and ketchup-barbecue saucey syrupy tasting who knows what sauce. Nothing Szechuan, spicy, or appetizing about it. Money down the drain.

Vegan General Yao's "Chicken"

I've had this bookmarked for the past year or two and I'm finally able to try it now that I moved within range of their delivery service! Since it's not a sit-down place, I never wanted to drive this far just for carry out, so I'm happy I am finally close enough for them to deliver. And it's free to deliver! Anyway, I tried their vegan general tso's "chicken" and my fiancé got their orange chicken. Both weren't to die for, but they also weren't bad. I definitely see myself eating here again! I love fake meat chicken just because of the texture (no, I do not want it to taste like meat), but I like the crispiness of this better than just ordering tofu. I'm excited to try their other vegan options. I also like that they have dinner specials! So for about $11, I was able to get rice and an egg roll (or soup). And they offered either a meat egg roll or a veggie egg roll (yes!). Most Chinese food places only offer lunch specials like that, but this place has this both for lunch and dinner! And the vegan options were included in the specials! Most of the time when I look at lunch specials at places, they don't have many vegan or veggie options, so I order off the regular menu and end up having to get the bigger serving and paying more than anyone else in my party. This dinner special was also large enough that I still was able to save some for part of my lunch the next day. I'll be a customer here again!

Chicken with broccoli, steamed dumplings, and 24. Egg Drop Soup
Kathy C.

My usual place did not answer the phone when I called so I ordered from Key Wok and I am glad I did. Ordered my usual chicken and broccoli, steamed dumplings, and egg drop soup. The broccoli was nice and crisp with plenty of chicken. Leftover dumplings were split the next day. The dumpling sauce was very good. I picked this up myself and the online order told me when it would be ready. The place is small but you can eat inside and it looked clean and bright. The staff was nice and helpful with some questions I had about the menu. Their menu is typical in many ways but they also carry some items unfamiliar to me like Pho which I do plan to try another time. The only downside is that they charge for delivery when you order online and I thought it was a little steep plus I didn't want to wait.

Tasteless Eggroll
Apryl D.

Food was not good. The shrimp fried rice & egg rolls were tasteless. I tried adding soy sauce but it did no good. The crab ragoons were just empty fried shells with an insulting amount of cream crab filling which was also without taste. The Thai Tea was absolutely HORRIBLE not sweet at all tasted toxic & we ended up just throwing all the food away & going somewhere else. I left the one star only because there were no other options.

The dish was not very good. The pad Thai I ordered did not taste like made with fresh vegetables. I will not recommend to anybody.

I have faithfully ordered carryout from this restaurant for years, in spite of good competition…read morenearby. Their food tastes very good, they are very friendly, the portion sizes are more than acceptable, and the menu is robust. I feel like their service has gone downhill in the last year. I have had multiple orders missing food. Since I order for a family, that leaves someone out and I've paid a lot. Waiting for what's missing is not an option since the other food gets cold and the family has to wait. On the last occasion I was missing an entire large meal plus rice, and they refused to credit back my card. It was delivery and they said I could drive there and get a cash refund. Drive? I paid for delivery. Refund? One family member goes hungry. Then they agreed to deliver another one right away. It never came so they obviously lied. I called back an hour later and they said the same thing, come drive here and get a cash refund. It's unethical to lie to your customers and even worse that this isn't the first time. I gave a four out of five, but one more instance and they go down a star. I'm now using the competition for most orders.

I stopped by this restaurant while in the Glen Burnie area. The Ma Po Tofu was decent, but I wish…read morethey listed what type of meat is inside. The dish is traditionally made with ground pork or beef; however most restaurants in the US prepare this dish with no meat due to it being placed in the Vegatable section of the menu. The flavor was great. It had and authentic flavor coupled with silken tofu. Maybe restaurants prepare with medium firmness tofu, which makes the dish heavier due to the higher protein of a denser type of Tofu

Have you ever been to a Chinese food restaurant & wondered what exactly are you eating? Well, this…read moreisn't that type of place! Their chicken seems to be chicken breast that is always fresh & tasty. I have had sweet & sour chicken, sesame chicken, & General Tso's chicken and my husband usually gets steamed dumplings & shrimp fried rice. We have never been disappointed. The only item I have had here that is what I consider average is the crab Rangoon. It's still good, just have had better. The portion sizes are great, the food is always hot when we get it & the service (both delivery & pick up) has been fast & friendly. Any time we're in the mood for Chinese, this is the place we go to and so should you.

I have passed Ho Wok for years and never considered stopping there until I read glowing…read morerecommendations for their food on the NextDoor neighborhood networking website. I gave them a try and am so glad I did! I have been back 3 times since! Pork fried rice has large chunks of pork, not the gross fatty globs and gristle or tiny "crumbs" that many Chinese restaurants. Rice has great flavor. Chicken with the sweet and sour chicken is the perfect size, with just the right amount of crispy breading. I wasn't a fan of the lo mein, I thought it was a little greasy, but it also had a generous amount of lean pork and I will probably give it another try. Take out containers have been filled to overflowing each time I ordered. This is a take-out only restaurant, with no room for tables and chairs. Just a pick up counter and room for a line to queue when busy. The place a little worn and ragged looking. Overlook appearances and you will be pleasantly surprised!
