Tummy Tuck 6 week after

I am 57 years old and I can attest to the fact that your never too old to be the best version of your self. After 3 children and menopause my belly was a problem. Every time I look at my belly I was very unhappy. Not to mention my clothes never fit right so I would wear loose fitting tops to hide my unsightly belly. Dr. D is a meritorious worker, he did my full tummy tuck and liposuction. My surgery went without a hitch and my recovery no problems out side of the usual down time. By the third week I was back to work. The best part is the result of my TT. I have almost no stretch marks and now my clothes fits me perfect. I can feel confident with out hiding the huge gut I carry around. I can't stop looking at my new tight tummy. Thank you Dr.D for changing my life. No regrets.

Right thigh, 2 months post-op.

To start off, this office is busy.. so don't be surprised that there will be a wait to schedule. From my perspective, I see the hold time as more of a stamp of approval for a surgeon who is well sought after. And he surely is! Dr. Healy was on my radar for 13+ years before my surgery. After 2 children and the aftermath of breastfeeding, I have always wanted to correct the remaining "two problems"... haha! Of course, having cosmetic surgery is a huge decision, due to the risk and high price tag, so being extremely picky about your surgeon is the most reasonable thing to do. Now that I've reached my one year anniversary, I can say with full confidence - I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE FOUND THIS OFFICE! My gosh... I have read reviews for other surgeons and I am so grateful for Dr. Healy and his staff for holding up their end of the bargain. Every appointment was made according to doctor's recommendations and all appointments were calmly completed by Dr. Healy himself. And I didn't even mention anything about the surgery itself!!.. Of how respectful the team was, how supportive they were THRU IT ALL, how clear and concise the process was so I had every single question answered... it was really - a great experience for me, all together! Doctor also respected the modest size I was going for and after providing pictures, he really matched me incredibly close to the exact pic I had as my #1. And they look SO NATURAL!! Dr. Healy, his lovely wife and coordinator, Jackie, the wonderful staff working the front, and the nurses in the back.. over a year later and I am still treated kindly and I couldn't be more thankful. Thank you all for helping 'mama' feel better about her body and thank you for supporting me in a huge life decision! :D

I went to both pre and post exams from September 2024 to my final follow-up in June 2025. Several of the post operation exams were performed by Dr. Soriano with the final follow-up exam appointment done by Dr. Tokunaga. Besides having the laser glaucoma surgery, i opted also for near AND far vision corrections AND the procedure to lessen the eye pressure from the mild glaucoma that I have had for a few years. Yay! No need for use of my gas permeable contacts ANYMORE that i have used since 1985 and glasses before than since the 5th grade! My first surgery took place on Veterans Day on November 12, 2024 on my left eye (as that eye was my strong eye) since i would without the use of glasses or contacts until my next eye surgery to my right eye in February, the 24th to be exact. The actual eye surgeries for both eyes took place at an eye surgery center on the second floor of the Dole Cannery Square in Iwilei. My right eye post-surgery did not' 'heal' as quickly as my left eye surgery back in November, so I had to go to one more post follow up exams... which by that time, my vision had noticeably improved ! The feeling of warmth and compassion by EVERY staff member was so genuine and not a 'put on show' that when I had my last follow up with Dr Tokunaga in mid-June, I (sincerely) shook his hand and really wanted to break down and cry to tell him how welcomed i felt with he and his staff! I know, I know...I'm a man at 66... but hey, I still have feelings you know... haha... You know that i now live in Waipahu and not the east side... i did have strong thoughts of changing my eye exam location to here in Aiea. But I still also have my allegiance to Dr. Chan and staff at Hawaii-Kai where i have gone there since 2006.. so hence, I will still gladly make the drive to Hawaii Kai. But Aloha Vison Care Aiea ---- ALL OF YOU... deserve the compliments that i have to talk about! btw, parking there at that medical building complex is $1 per 30 minutes...no need to stamp anything at the doctor's office...

The office hours posted outside said 7:45 a.m. and it was still dark with a short wait. Felt relieved when the lights suddenly turned on and the door was held open. Was given a 5 page handout on a clipboard to fill out. Their questions about your total body, history etc was the most comprehensive I've ever seen. So many patients going in and coming out before my name was called. The female that took me to one of the rooms on the left used machines and even a headpiece to check my vision. I've never seen machines like those before. Then we proceeded to two more rooms for various tests and measurements. So different from my eye doctor's ones. Returning to the first room Dr. Tokunaga knocked and entered. He introduced himself, asked a few questions then went over the findings. He informed me of 3 types of lens that can be implanted for cataracts ranging to $3500. He explained the differences of each lens and the procedure on a model of the eye. I asked about the alien appearance of one of my friends' eyes in the light and he said all lens have a refelection. I will return in 2 months in August for scheduling surgery one month later. Had to ask about recovery time. You return here one day after surgery to have the patch removed. He recommends staying on island a week after. Surgery is performed at an eye center at Dole in town. He would notify my eye doctor and regular doctor of his findings. He said take care and I'll need medical clearance before the pending September surgery. The total exam took about half an hour and he said the cataract surgery was not a rush for me but since I was there...the actual procedure is about 15 minutes plus a few hours before you are released to go home. Okay, one appointment and one eye at a time.

He was responsive and very caring. My son felt safe with him. The night nurse, Cliff, was also very good too! Case managers, Beth and Tainika, kept our family up-to-date with our son's status. My son still has a slight yellow tinge to his skin, but he is stable and getting stronger thanks to the great care provided by the wonderful Pali Momi staff of doctors and nurses! Mahalo!

It's very difficult to rate Pali Momi because I feel that overall, their ER services and lab are…read morethe BEST on all of Oahu and the best hospital out of most of the hospitals I've been to in the mainland while my spouse was in the military. I would love them just because of their ER. If I were to move to Kahala, Kailua or Waianae, I would still drive to their ER in the dead of night over any other ER (if I could). I have never in my life described an ER visit as a service, but when I go to Pali Momi, it feels like a service. Like GREAT service for the money you're paying. I'm being catered to even when I have to wait a little for the Dr, the ER STAFF just feels like an ELEVATED level of care and not unprofessional or ratchet like other ER staff from other hospitals I've been to. The wait time here is always the shortest of any other ER we have gone to for other people. You won't catch the staff talking loudly or badly about a patient (had that happen at Castle ER). This ER will have have short, low murmured, light interactions and even when they're updating the next crew on patients before leaving - they are actually very discreet. With their ER, the staff station is just a comfortable or soothing buzz in the background and not like other ERs where people are talking loudly, yelling or laughing over each other while someone's in excruciating pain just a few feet away. I love how their ER has grown and how Pali Momi has UTILIZED their space on the first floor to make more rooms for the ER so that patients are not waiting long outside. That alone also adds to you feeling like they make efforts and give a damn about the service they provide. Whether you end up in one of the makeshift rooms at the back, I feel like they know how patients feel - once I'm inside - mentally I already feel a little better because I'm one step closer to being seen. The next step is waiting outside to be called and then when you're called they take you in to your room or space. You wait for the Dr., see the Dr, they do what needs to be done, then you either wait to be transferred to a room upstairs or wait for your papers and the nurse or doctor to speak about what you need to do once home or when you get your meds. This ER will CALL YOU shortly after your visit to FOLLOW UP on how you're doing. This is great! Anyway, let's talk about the service of their upstairs staff if you have to stay in the hospital. 1- This hospital is a lot cleaner compared to other hospitals, Queens in town and Straub on King st, but it could still be better. My mom had to stop a maid because she used the SAME flannel that she wiped the room with to wipe the bathroom and SINK!! The sink that nurses put the bottles on for the patient's water flushes for their feeding line or that patients themselves use. And if someone is in the room, they won't come all the way in to mop. I know they probably are just trying not to intrude but pls come in anyway to make sure the room is clean. If someone says they don't want it, fine but some people will appreciate it being cleaned thoroughly even if they're there. 2. The staffs upstairs are mostly great. You do have some very good nurses here, but I've encountered the same male nurse who walked in twice and almost use the SAME gloves he's had from visiting other patients. This is unacceptable as that's how OUTBREAKS happen. Your hospital has an awesome reputation, but that small carelessness from one person can ruin that. 3. Please please for the love of god, change or get a refund from the contractor that provides the sheets. I've been there a few times recently again and each time, the bed sheets do NOT FIT the beds! Please get bigger sheets that won't shrink in the dryer. I feel so bad for the CNAs and nurses when I help change my loved one's bed sheets and it doesn't even fit. To the point where the patient becomes uncomfortable due to the sheet bending the mattress inwards. I hope if we have another stay, that all the too small sheets have been replaced. 4. Keep up the great work. Your lab is very good at drawing blood and putting in IV lines for hard cases. We appreciate that so much. 5. Your insurance ladies are so polite when coming to ask for that and getting it done so we don't have to worry about it. I like that they will come to the patient to complete their paperwork or return their things so the patient doesn't have to come to them if they're unable to. 6. Shout out to your cafeteria. The staff in there is so efficient and kind. The place is clean and comfortable with plenty of seating.

He started a holistic pain management with Dr. Barton and is now managing his pain with the help of natural herbs instead of the pharmaceuticals that can cause liver, heart and kidney problems. AI have visited Dr. Barton myself and have been tapering off two prescriptions myself and feel so much better. He is a wonderful, kind and compassionate Dr. Very hard to find on this Island. Barton MD has been a physician for over 28 years. He is board certified in Pain Medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine. Past board certifications include General Surgery (1992) and Plastic Surgery (1995). Lifetime member of the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Present member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the International Cannabinoid Research Society. Military service: United States Army Reserve, General Surgeon, Medical Corp Officer, Major, 1990-1999, with temporary active duty in Desert Storm. Current Chief Medical Officer of Malama First, LLC., a non-profit organization for the enhancement of healthcare and well being in native Hawaiians. E-Mail: hawaiipain@gmail.com I was a practicing plastic surgeon until I developed neck pain and cervical disc hernias. I had two level neck fusion surgery which made things worse, a not too uncommon result of cervical spine surgery. I have lived in the "Pain World" for over 15 years. I retrained in Pain and Palliative Care at the University of Utah in 2003, completing a rigorous fellowship which allowed for my third board certification. I was an orthodox Pain Doc until I came to realize that there are a lot of holes in regular "western" or what I call "corporate" medicine. A lot of conditions and syndromes do NOT have good or satisfying treatments, and people and families are left to suffer. Too many of my patients just lived month to month on a handful of different types of medications, all of which were narcotics, or heavily controlled substances, leading to dependency. If the goals of improved functionality and well-being are of prime importance, then any substance or effective treatment technique is valid. There is NOTHING morally superior about pills and patches and pharmaceutical drugs, versus a plant that is well known for its safety. Some can even claim that "Herbs" are ordained of God. That is the bottom line: it is safer than nearly all the usual medications out there! I am not advocating that patients start smoking pot. There are other delivery systems and modalities which are quite promising in the reduction of pain, including ointments, lotions, tinctures, and edibles besides the use of vaporizers. The truth of reality is that the majority of patients prefer to smoke cannabis, which allows for easy tit-ration or metering of the dosage. Shortly, I will have up on this website a lot of the scientific and medical studies which show the exciting world of cannabinoids, and how they "fill the gaps" in the medical world of pain. I have an old website at www.ecpain.com if you would like to learn more about pain, and the various wisdom of coping with it. Another bottom line is the fact that those who suffer with chronic pain and other disabling conditions will do whatever it takes to obtain relief, even if it does not follow the dictates of the Federal Government, or the personal opinions of some law enforcement individuals, who might feel some special privilege in acting against medical cannabis patients, the law and the Will of the People of Hawaii. All Hawaiians must stand for what is right in protecting those who are the most at risk and least able to protect themselves. There is enough shame and fear in the world, let alone the world of disability and pain. There is a great deal of suffering in the world. Most politicians and regulators do not see it. Perhaps they are just not compassionate. Medical Cannabis can be the best answer for many of these poorly treated conditions.

From the very beginning, the entire process was handled with incredible care and attention to detail. My pre-op appointment with Kristine was extremely thorough--she carefully reviewed both pre- and post-operative instructions and took the time to answer every question, which made me feel confident and completely prepared well ahead of surgery. Immediately after that visit, Laura emailed me everything we discussed in clear, detailed written form: pre- and post-op instructions, prescriptions to pick up in advance, check-in times, and all logistical details. There was truly no room for confusion. I felt fully prepared weeks before my procedure even took place. On the day of surgery, the care continued to be outstanding. Ana and Char made me feel calm and comfortable from the moment I arrived--everything from letting me choose my music in the operating room to making sure I was warm and at ease. In recovery, my PACU nurse, Tricia, was wonderful. Dr. Ching was exceptional throughout the experience.
