We actually tried a few other coffee shops in the area, but found ourselves coming right back to Insomnia Coffee. The drinks were always made perfectly, the service was friendly, and it became our daily caffeine fix while exploring Cannon Beach. If you're looking for a great coffee shop in town, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!

The espresso adds a slightly roasted taste that cuts through the milk and spiced notes nicely. Summer Eclipse (4/5): A solid iced specialty drink if you want something light. The Earl Grey tastes consistent throughout, though the orange juice got a little diluted by the ice and I could only taste the blackberry syrup toward the bottom as the drink settled. Pumpkin Spiced Scone (4/5): Has a dense, doughy chew with a subtle pumpkin flavor that isn't too sweet, though it leaned a bit dry. Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie (4/5): Great chew with balanced sweetness from the chocolate and toffee bits, but like the scone, it was slightly on the drier side. Logistics Tip: Indoor seating is pretty limited and fills up quickly, so be prepared to take your order to go.

Rude and curt workers, okay coffee…read more I visited this spot for coffee about a week ago, and I'm still confused and thinking about how poorly I was treated while I was there. The girl that took my order was very condescending and rude. When my friend asked about a specialty drink that was written on the board, she acted like she didn't know what she was talking about. After my friend got through her order, she gestured to me. The barista rudely said "I can't take her order I need to focus on finishing yours first" and she walked away. I hadn't even said a word yet and she was already barking at me. It was just such an odd interaction. A different lady ended up stepping in to take my order. When I finally got my coffee, the original barista rolled her eyes, put it on the counter, and in the most monotonous tone told me to have a good day. I left feeling so confused as to why someone is working a customer service job that clearly doesn't want to talk or interact with people at all. There was also a very snarky laminated sign right by the counter where they serve drinks that had a bulleted list of things like "do NOT STARE at the baristas, we are trying to focus. Do NOT linger in this area. STAY BACK" etc etc. The whole tone and vibe of this place was negative and I couldn't wait to get out of there.

He was opening doors for everybody walking in. To hear freshly baked bread was so exciting. The bagel was not only seasoned on top but also on the bottom part giving u a flavorful bite each time. My ice coffee was delicious, u can taste the quality of beans. Simple brown sugar and tasty. We were greeted by the cashier and she was kind to help us decide on what to try. The place was clean and with a modern contemporary style. Restroom was clean and only single stall. The utensils and napkins were at tables inside and outside with a Small cute vase. Some people got orders to go but a lot sat outside on the patio with the great weather. No dogs allowed inside. But welcome outside. A self-serve water station was available. When done you can clean up and put them away in the bins.

There are only a few tables inside and a handful outside, so if you catch it at a busy time, you may have to get your order to go. We were lucky to arrive just as another party was leaving, so we could sit inside and enjoy the ambiance. Our drinks were truly INCREDIBLE! I tried the candied orange mocha, our daughter got the sparkling snow jasmine iced tea, and hubby got a cap. The sparkling snow jasmine iced tea was such a hit we got a second one to share even though we were already full from our drinks, pastry, and baguette. The food was also equally delicious. Fast-forward a couple of weeks later to my hubby and my wedding anniversary. I booked an inn and discovered it was right across from Sea Level, to which we both danced a happy jig. That is, until we realized our stellar off-season, mid-week getaway to avoid crowds also meant no daily morning walk to Sea Level to gorge ourselves on pastries and delicious beverages, as they are only open Friday - Monday. {gentle weeping} We can't wait until we get an opportunity to head out to the coast again for a tasty homecoming to Sea Level.
