Blooming Nail & Spa was okay and I decided to make an appointment. Eric answered the phone and was super nice and easy to talk to. I went in and was able to start right away! So I needed to make an emergency appointment for a dip powder mani/regular pedi because my normal…read morenail salon was booked. I went to this place because it was a convenient location for me & they had an opening. I absolutely regret it. In less than 24 hours almost all my nails started cracking. And I knew it was going to happen because the nail tech, mayvis, did not cure the dip powder correctly. Typically my normal nail tech cures the dip powder with a clear gel coat and then dries my nails under the UV light. Mayvis only used the dip powder then dried my nails under a regular fan. I'm extremely disappointed because normally my dip powder manicure lasts 3 weeks, now I have to spend another $75 to get it redone by an actual professional

And they scolded me about 50 times during my hair cut for just walking in. " Usually we only go by appointments" I don't understand what the big deal is, they barely have customers. I tried making an appointment once and no one picked up the phone! Don't understand them but anyway... I've been there a hand full of times. For those somewhat desperate hair cuts. (The I don't have time or money, I'm happy with anything decent, sort of hair cuts) I used to have Daisy cut my hair. She is sweet and kind, and gives great advise on how to maintain your hair but sadly she just kinda sucks. The only two times i've had her cut my hair, she's just messed it up. Everyone would ask me, "what the hell did you do to your hair?!" From then on I just started making excuses to see Asteria. She is pretty good, but a tad bit unprofessional. She received a phone call from her daughter in the middle of my hair cut! And oh, it was no emergency! The talked about the most bland issues for half an hour! Even after I told her I had to go to work! Her hair cuts are not bad at all. She hasn't let me down aside from her unprofessional issues. They use great products. I had my hair dyed with their matrix product and the color was outstanding. It was glossy, shiny and long lasting. I got compliments for months... Just great.

" THEY DO NOT ACCEPT ANY NEW CUSTOMERS" I peeked inside, there were only two people.. empty and nothing spectacular. The women who greeted me at the door after I buzzed looked like she was disgusted or shocked. I think she expected me to wear a business suit or something. Mind you, its my day off, its raining and Ive been doing errands all day. I just moved to Bal Harbor and saw this nail salon several occasions driving to the toll. Anyway, I just cant believe people still treat people this same way. She started to name me prices; which I never asked for. I'm beginning to think this place might be used for Money Laundering.. Twice I passed by and its closed and this time its open and super dead.. I guess they have enough money and customers to satisfy them. WHO TURNS DOWN MONEY?

I've been going here for manicures for over a year, and just started getting my hair cut, and I…read morelove it. Marisel does my nails and she is fantastic. As soon as you walk in the door, she offers you cuban coffee. She is very thorough and detailed, doing a superb job with both hands and feet, making sure that your nails and even and smooth. I've noticed that my manicures last so much longer when I see her over others. I've only gotten my hair cut twice, but both times looked fantastic. I did a basic cut, nothing too complicated, so I can't really say how they do with anything crazy, but I really liked the way my hair was cut. Willie not only heard what I wanted, but he listened - which, it seems, is a rare thing amongst stylists. I told him what I wanted and what I didn't (ie, I didn't want layers shorter than my chin), and he followed exactly, giving me the cut and the length I wanted. He also gave me replicable styling tips that I can easily follow at home. The salon seems to be busy every time I go in, and while they do a good job, they are sometimes sluggish. It usually takes me about 45 minutes for nails and another hour to an hour an a half for my hair (depending on how crowded they are). The parking isn't ideal (Gables street parking), but there's usually something on the side streets if nothing is available in front. Just make sure to bring your quarters!!
